To be honest, TM have better routing to China Telecom / China Unicom compared to TIME
to CT usually it goes to TM JP PoP and to CT JP PoP , but for TIME case is via NTT SG - CT SG PoP (I'm not sure certain IP range will have different routes or not)
And my China friend told me NTT SG - CT SG PoP had a very severe congestion throughout 24/7 , packet loss >20% and above

Just had my time broadband installed. I can only say it is totally disappointed. The ONU Huawei wifi router + modem and mesh are simply trash.

Even the room next to living room that has the ONU connected also could not get more than 200Mbps of speed.

Anyway I can change the stoopig ONU to bridge mode so I can use my own wifi mesh?
Yes you can, just call CS & tell them you insist to change the first unit of the X6 (which has fiber connected) to bridge mode, and you wish to use your own Mesh Systems.

U mean underneath the edge of the door ? Not so recommended as this will tend to get snap by the door.

I'm able to log in if reset using the password on the sticker after reset, but once connected to the Wifi router then the password changed, no clue about it...

Hey guys, I just bought a new ASUS router model RT-AX53U and I'm using the existing TP LINK AC1350 as a repeater in my office room. Normal usage is  fine but when I started gaming I'm getting packet losses.

I recently found out that TIME is giving new promo for upgrade. Had to upgrade anyways because current package no more discount. TIME is giving Huawei HG8145X6 router + 1 mesh.

Now my question is
Can I still maintain ASUS RT-AX53U as main and use the HG8145X6 as mesh? Understandable different brands can "mesh" it together but would I get optimum and stable speed?
You cant do meshing...but instead as repeater.

I have other thoughts to solve this problem but would like to avoid spending as I just bought the ASUS Router

Here's my other 2 solutions:
1. Resort to homeplugs - Uncle old liao, last time use homeplug was relatively okay
You need to test the bandwidth between the nodes using the software provided. If speed is not as expected, slight modi needs to be done to your electric circuit.

2. buy a new wifi card Archer TXE75E
I dont think it will improve significantly.

P/S: my main router and 2nd room is probably less than 20 meters a part but still the repeater is not stable

I am able to do that with my unifi last time thats why i pulled a cable direct from outside to my room but not with TIME Huawei ONT.

Hi all,

I got a TIME internet connection ~3 years back. Back then, they gave me a EG8240H5 ONT and WA8021V5 wifi router.

In April 2023, I signed up for a re-contract because they offered me HG8145X6 mesh (2 devices) and RM20 off for full 2y contract. When they came for the installation, I kept the EG8240H5 ONT because my home at that time had Fiber cable at the switch panel and I wanted to keep the wifi routers in the living room and bed room for good coverage.

Now, I moved to a new place where the fiber cable is coming directly to the living room. Because of that, I want to remove the EG8240H5 and use the HG8145X6 as the ONT+Wifi Router 2-in-1.
When I asked the relocation person to change this configuration, they said they can't do that and asked me to contact Time customer service to change it. But when I contact Time customer care phone, they're saying that they can't change this configuration due to back end issues.

On some online research, I found that the OLT at TIME end is configured with the MAC address of my ONT. This might be the reason it is not easy to change the ONT from EG8240H5 to HG8145X6. But I would expect TIME customer care or some one in their technical team should be able to change it at the OLT end or wherever required to remove EG8240H5 from my setup. I just went round and round with TIME customer care for a whole day without any progress.

Does anyone know how I can remove EG8240H5 from my setup and configure the HG8145X6 directly as ONT keeping its Wifi router functionality (2-in-1)? Has anybody done that?

It's 2024 now and connection to China is still horrible. Word is already spreading in one of the China Malaysia community that I happen to join.

China work apps like DingTalk are affected too.

I wanted to configure the weekly auto restart for every node..
Currently only available for main node..

I guess their NOC is not aware that China is Malaysia #1 trade partner or they probably don't even aware of such apps exist.

Many China apps for work (DingTalk, Feishu, VooV and etc) are really slow when using TIME fibre, con call keep lagging.
