May I know why technician said I cannot use Asus modem? He keep asking for original modem?

Guys, when I login to Time portal I got an offer to either:

1) Renew 24 months contract (free Wifi 5 Mesh device); or
2) Upgrade to 500mbps/1gbps/2gbps

Currently I'm on 100mbps. No issue with speed. There is a bit of a dead spot in the last room though.

Is there any catch to renew a further 24 months, and get the free mesh device? Any hidden fees?
If you renew to 100Mbps contract you are getting the wifi5 mesh device which is useless. Would be better to purchase your own device and free for any contract. Do PM me if you need further advise.

Also, will I get a better offer if I instead wait until my 24 months contract is over? My initial contract period is Aug 2021 - Aug 2023.

Edit: I see T&C mention I can pay RM10 more to get 300mbps with free mesh device. But in the "upgrade" webpage, I can't see this option.

So what happens if my contract ends next year August? Will they force to sign a new contract?

Moving to a high rise apartment, Time is available. I’m living with my wife only. 500mbps enough? She likes to watch TV, streaming shows and movies. While I have an Xbox, prolly be using GamePass or download big file games.

Do you guys have problem accessing the Android Police website?  I can access using VPN and even on my mobile phone but I get an error whenever I use Time Broadband.  I'm using Google DNS 8.8.8.8, I've also tried Cloudflare 1.1.1.1.

TIME is currently being installed at my location. Any idea what are the latest procedure to cancel unifi? Do i need to bring the modem and router?

Anyone on the 100Mbps plan is getting private WAN IPs (in the 10.x.x.x range) instead of public IPs?
Noticed this starting from early morning on 9 Nov.

Is TIME starting to assign private IPs instead of public ones?

161.142.x.x seems to be the "shared" public IP now

Just reset port with live chat. Speed is normal again. Just felt weird since suddenly only got 300Mbps when downloading from gdrive and steam. I already power cycle my modem/router a couple of times but still capped at 300Mbps hence i asked here. Anyway just got solved. Thanks everyone.
