You’ll need to use the Chinese version of the 70Mai app in order to add the 70Mai Pro as the Google Play Store version can only add the 70Mai dashcam. You can scan the QR codes here (click here) for the Chinese version 70Mai app.

Final thoughts
The first impression I got when I saw the 70Mai Pro is this looks like a Thinkware dashcam.

The 70Mai Pro is a good camera which records with good quality. The 1944p is in 4:3 aspect ratio seems a bit weird for modern dashcams but you can record more vertically though.

You'll need to change to H.265 encoding in order to record in 1440p & 1944p.

Unable to try out the de-fog features as the weather didn’t permit to test this.

In their 70mai english page is selling the english version in Indiegogo with special discount and with the GPS module.

32GB can record about 3-4 hours video.

how does the parking mode works? where does it draws power from?
isnt the ciggie lighter charger turn off when we take out the key?

Found in taobao, 70mai have a hardwire kit which can be used on the 70mai Pro and others 70mai dashcams...

Also the built-in 500mAh battery can be used for parking mode temporary...

That's a 2-wires hardwire kit. It's more for powering the dashcam without parking mode.

So these cables just needs to be tapped into the fuse box right? Afraid will void warranty if cut cable etc.

Yes using fuse taps. No need to cut any wires.

Actually wat is the gps module and e dog for? And does the parking monitoring works?

The ADAS and e-dog requires the GPS module.

e-dog will notify you when you drive too fast and where got speed trap but only for in China.

I think this 70Mai dashcam is a super budget dashcam below RM200 (US$50) price range with Sony IMX323 sensor. The video quality is crisp and clear.

I don't have the chance to try out the voice command yet as if not mistaken have to be in Mandarin. Will test later when have time.

It's triggered by the g-sensor.

It can run off the 500mAh battery but may only last about 15-30 minutes of recording.

There is a 70mai hardwire kit available for the parking mode.

Maybe use the 70mai dashcam as a rear dashcam?

All resolutions are in 30fps only.

I did't see the option for voice command in the app, manual or the website.

Hi, the battery reliable under the hot weather ?

Both are actually from the same manufacturer. 70mai is under Mijia.

Hardwire is to power the dashcam when engine is off for parking mode (BATT) then power on when engine is on (ACC) for normal recording. This is 3 wires hardwire kit function.

I usually won't recommend getting a lithium battery dashcam in hot countries. Always go for supercapacitor dashcams.

Better quality lithium batteries have better durability and maybe can last about 1.5 - 2 years or so. But will also fail.

What happen if the battery fail?

Can't charge anymore. Can't save the settings and last video file.

Like all lithium battery, it might get bloated or leaking or worst case scenario - explodes.

Hi All, been using this for 2 weeks now.
The parking mode as tested works well and I got voice prompted when switch on car of there is new video for parking mode. (tested with high sensitivity G sensor). Bought it from Lazada around RM 249, the video downloaded can easily be play with sound inside video which Mai 70 video can't hear anything after downloaded.

For those who are interested with it, 11street is having shocking deals at RM193 now.

You stick the electrostatic film on the windscreen then stick the 70mai Pro on it to prevent damaging your tint/windscreen.

english interface or chinese interface bro?

base on first page image, interface is chinese.
maybe due to import from china.

Mine is China version. There is an international version with English interface available.

I've check some review, look like samsung evo plus write is more better than sandisk ultra A1 (8xMB vs 2xMB) , tomorrow is 11.11, have some discounts... haven't know want to buy which one

Scared will be the same it will be like the 70mai dashcam, chinese version has 64GB flash memory and international has 128GB flash memory. Until now the english firmware can't be flashed into the chinese version.

You won't go wrong with Evo Plus. Ultra A1 maybe I'll get a 64GB to test and see in a dashcam.

Can you teach how to set up parking mode..? means you didnt use hardwire kit right..?

Just have to enable parking surveillance on the 70mai Pro or in the app. The internal 500mAh lithium-ion battery can run for a while. I estimate about 30 minutes+-.

Means after we turned off the engine, the dash cam is still on until the battery flat? or it will go to a standby mode..? if it is go to standby mood, should be more than 30 minutes right?

It will go into standby mode until the g sensor triggers then will record for 20 or 30 seconds.

Hi, I already bought Samsung evo plus 64gb, it's come with 10 year warranty, May I know that how to proof that my purchase date because item from lazada don't have receipt, or I need to register my on samsung?

You can ask Lazada for the receipt via Lazada Chat and they will email to you.

But do take note that Samsung and other cards manufacturer will void the warranty when these cards are used in dashcam or IP cams.

Only those High Endurance cards won't void but more expensive.

I don't said i use on dashcam, but it's possible to detect by service center this card is used in dashcam/ip cam or just normal used?

Not sure as never claim warranty before for my cards. As I roughly expect them to die in about 2-3 years time used in dashcams.

70Mai pro does not have parking mode so we dont need the 3 wire cable is it? Just the 2 wire from shopee suffice?

Lithium battery aside , how is this compared to the /k favorite Viofo?

2 wires to power the dashcam when engine starts only.

3 wires does what 2 wires do and also power the dashcam when engine off for parking mode.


The video of the 70mai Pro is nice and clear as it's newer specs.

The parking mode pull from battery not good isn't it since it will put a tax on car battery? Correct me if I'm wrong on this

Depends on the dashcam for any voltage cutoff, etc. Another is to use iron phosphate battery to power the dashcam for parking mode. But not cheap. Safer than lithium ion powerbanks.

GPS is more for the ADAS like lane departure, front vehicle collision warning, etc.

3 wires hardwire is needed for the parking mode.


Buy the international version. Or get the English firmware and see can flash into the Chinese version or not? But be careful as might brick it.

bro i have a few questions

1) i have sandisk ultra class10 uhs1 64gb, can i use it to record in 2k & 4k resolution?

2) 64gb can record how long in 2k & 4k resolution?

3) im more prefer to 2k resolution as the aspect ratio 16:9, but can my sandisk ultra able to record smoothly and peace of mind?

Sandisk Ultra can't record 4K in true 4K cams. Will get error as the write speed is too slow. Sandisk Extreme series can as the write speed is faster.

I don't have a dashcam that can record in 4K so I can't answer that.

I don't use Sandisk Ultra cards as they fail very fast used in dashcams. I'm mostly using Samsung Evo Plus cards. No issues.

2K videos maybe can record about 4-5 hours in a 64GB card.

Hi, I had just got mine and is setting it up. Mine is the Chinese version, but the app is in English. Now, I can't read much Mandarin. Can I check with you that all the settings on the dashcam are available on the app itself? That means, there is no need for me to change the firmware to English and can just use it from the app, yes? Probably the only disadvantage to this is that the dashcam voice will still be in Mandarin.

App follow your phone default language. But do have a few in Chinese.

I follow the app's setup instructions. It also show which button to click to enable WiFi and some sort. Btw, are the wifi password common for all devices?

Needs to be center and the lens angle needs to be able to view the hood.

Not the perfect ADAS but better than Yi dashcam ADAS I suppose.

Not sure about the P/N option as mine is Chinese version

it is small enough to fit in the middle of the MYVI with the big auto braking module system?

Finally managed to calibrate it successfully via alot of trial and error. But after calibrated it successfully, if I use it for the subsequent times, sometimes I need to drive like 15-30 mins before the ADAS starts working.
