2G agreement still in place they only serve termination notice for 3G. U Mobile claimed that there will be no coverage shrinkage due to this practice as they will cover those are with their equipment some times ago. Only time will tell how true is it.

i will definitely go back to umobile if they got own network instead of using maxis. Maxis is restricting umobile network and make it very slow.. perhaps time will show everything smile.gif

Max data speed for gprs and edge is 100kbps. Whatsapp text should still load, picture would still load too after few seconds. Gotta forget about loading video or watching youtube tho, literally unuseable biggrin.gif
*
i dont think you can get 100kbps gprs anymore. maxis using part of their 2G 900mhz for 3G. even celcom and digi turn off some 2G tower. signal become weak and take longer to lock. dont talk about sped.

Means that those who still using the handset which max support 3G, will habis cerita internet connections if termination for 3G.
Anyway, let's see how the deal between maxis & umobile..
Hopefully will continue renew for the agreement.

Doesn't looked like they will renew as Maxis didn't expect U Mobile to grow so fast and become their major competitor and U Mobile wouldn't as Maxis is likely to charge them a rate that they could barely profit.

UMobile has been pretty quiet this recently. No news about coverage expansion nor new product introduction... Wonder what's up with them nowadays

Once locked, the GPS will be engaged. I believe the frequent GPS disconnecting might be others issue

gps signals come from the satellite not from telco. phones can obtain location information from telco towers via triangulation but it is not accurate.
