any idea how to get the stucked screw on the GPU heatsink? I think my last choice will be........ sending it to some workshop who can drill the screw hole.......... the hexagon part on the screw is already because rounded..... Damn it.... I got 7/8 off from the heatsink and only this stupid screw keep sticking on the heatsink... I guess it sure love the heatsink and dont wanna get away from the heatsink. My hand is damn sakit.... I was working on it whole day while watching jap drama... LOL

WD-40 solves everything (well..almost everything tongue.gif)

show us pictures of your 'rounded' nut. what did u use until u actually rounded the nut so badly.

Tip: Don't watch Japanese dramas or multi-task something else while performing 'surgery' on your RM1500 next-gen console.

Just to add.....

If your 360 has been dormant for some time and then you do the x-clamp replacement, you might get freezes and hangs the first time you play games.

Solution : Leave the 360 on overnight. Then the next day turn it off and let it cool down for 30 minutes. Turn it back on and enjoy.

hopefully this tips can rescue my xbox360 from 3rod for 2nd time.. doh.gif

3rd party heatsinks/cooling solutions for the xbox360 would be freagin' awesome.

but then we've got someone who already used a PC watercooling system on the console

I was thinking of getting this new GPU Heatsink.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Xbox-360-Gpu-Heatsink-...1QQcmdZViewItem

but when its price go over USD40.00, it seems like ridiculas for me to get one. So, I just go for the cheap one which is only USD3.99.

Yeah Finally i got the stucked screw taken off by asking my uncle who work in metal melting work shop to melt a metal on the screw. Once it is in one piece..... easy for me to take on. My Xbox360 now working flawlessly now!! Yeah, i would like to help others to mod this for money since this mod is cheap and easy! What is the market price for doing this? I am staying in penang.....

i think its somewhere between rm100 to rm150...and they also provide a very good service support if hit by 3rod again.
which part in penang? i might consider to send you my 360 if hit by 3rod.

I like to thank Gurdian to make this guide as i just successfully revived my 3RODed box rclxms.gif

I did skip a few parts tho.. the GPU is still on the stock X-clamp, but i've changed the xclamp for the cpu, i know.. i know.. it's the gpu.. but hey.. at least my box is up and running now after wiping off and re-applying the thermal paste for both.. i couldn't find any M5 10mm screws.. all i got here is an M5 25mm sweat.gif M5 fits perfectly onto the stock heatsinks hence i do not need a nut for the other end..

i got 3 cuts on my fingers while opening the damn bloody white cover.. but it's all worth it.. nod.gif

p/s : guys after u guys done doing this fix better do a 70/80 mm fan mod in front of the brown heatsink just cut a hole on the case and screw the pc fans and use an adjustable 5v - 12v ac adapter for the power source.. i strongly recommend u guys do this bcoz the main cause of he redlight is heat.. u can oso do window mod if u want smile.gif i'll post my case when im done modding it.. still new in this modding world tongue.gif
