TYVM. For new laptops, can I get the shop to change the SSD and maintain warranty? No right? Now is hunting time then report back. Thank you for the kind recommendation.

Depends on the manufacturer - some will put void stickers , others allow you to change parts and all...look at where the stickers are being placed

Sub 3k.
Display maybe 13 to 15 inches.
Battery life maybe 4 hours minimum.
Weight probably sub 2kg.
Can't seem to find anymore Lenovo 320s with 8gb ram, is it still relevant?
*
Ryzen is alright , FYI my X1 Extreme gets about 4-5 hours of battery life (Core i7). E585 is alright you can easily get 4-5 hours battery life

You can read it here , alternatively opt for the Intel variant if you want to....

Best part of it it uses usb-c , so bring a high-powered powerbank usb type c and you can charge your laptop instantly smile.gif

Let's say just leave the mech kb, what spec should I get for graphic, video and interior design? Which should I get

3.5k ? Probably MSI gaming series you are looking at it. I am putting a side of the build quality and other factors and purely focusing on the needs

Or Lenovo Y530 series (if you can get it at that price)

at what price?

The above configuration will need it's RAM upgraded immediately. Also the Helios 300 isn't easy to take apart which could be a bummer if you want to repaste which could help in thermals.

Me personally would go for an Illegear Raven GTX 1060 instead.

Those who are shopping for a new gaming laptop might want to wait for Ryzen+GTX machines:

1. Budget : RM1.5k - 1.8k
2. Usage  : Just email, office and surfing
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : light weight, fast, maybe 12" - 13". OK with AMD, as long as fast. Best with SSD, but that is over budget? For traveling use.

Interesting. Yes people should consider waiting for Ryzen 3 H with GTX 1660. However people shouldn't wait for Asus TUF models regardless of CPU or GPU.

Anyone have experience with Huawei Matebook series?

Am waiting for Matebook 13 to be launched in Malaysia.

p.s. Looking for lightweight laptop for work and study, maybe some editing software like Photoshop, video editing. Not planning for heavy duty like gaming.

I'm looking for an ultrabook with the following preferences:
1) Under 2kg and under
2) Core i5 or above
3) 14", the brighter the better
4) Prefer SSD (But not a must, because I can swap out with SSD aftermarket)
5) Must have discrete GPU for light gaming (dota2) and some light graphic (adobe photoshop)
6) Good battery life
7) Windows
8) Non glossy monitor
9) Reasonable temperature and fan noise

1. Budget : 3k
2. Usage : travel and casual surfing. some time will do some casual gaming on nostalgic game like NFSU2 and NFSMW
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : 14in. lightweight, prefer to have dGPU...

any good recomendation? Is Intel 620 a good GPU? Never follow up on computer specs recently
