Thanks for the reply!

About 7 hours or around there for the battery.

The reason not choosing HP because he had some bad experience with his previous HP laptop and wanted to try something different. But I'm open to suggestions if there's any HP lineup that fits the criteria.
Thank you!

Acer Swift 3 SF315-51G-55UH / 56T6, Acer Swift 3 SF315-51-520J / 54ZB - non-upgradable RAM

Can up budget more? There aren't many decent 15 inch models with good battery life in this budget

Any idea when Huawei Matebook 13 will be available in Malaysia? and expected price?

Hi,

I am considering between Asus FX505 and Lenovo Legion Y530.
Which would be the better option here?

I found these two, which are not that heavy (2.3kg) and that the price is around RM4000.

Asus FX505 has one variant which is i5-8300H with GTX1060
But for Legion, the model with GTX 1060 is priced higher.

My main usage is for CAD and some light gaming. Sometimes will carry around. 3 to 4 hours battery life is fine for me.
I am open to other suggestions.

You don't need 1060, 1050TI will do

Commandos Glock 5, Illegear Raven and Lenovo Legion Y530 (can customize - 15% student discount available, got premade model also - 81FV016UMJ). I got reviews on all 3

Or Dell G7 8750H+1050TI, but low sRGB FHD IPS only

Make sure you have at least 8GB RAM (dual channel recommended) and SSD. Can upgrade by yourself also, cheaper

Low display should be ok. Non-upgradable is ok if basic is 8G. What do you recommend?

Lenovo Thinkpad T580, L580, E590/E580 - all can customize
Acer Swift 3 SF315-51-520J / 54ZB - non-upgradable RAM

If you want good sRGB dsplay, you might want to change your display size preference or increase budget

Actually you can get Thinkpad T580 with UHD panel and 32+72Wh battery under 5k

Alternatively you can go for UX533F-DA9111T if you want lighter+slimmer profile, however it seems like it aldy out of stock

Get the T580 - It's the last series of Lenovo T-series that can be truly upgraded. Plus it's a true laptop

Loving my Thinkpad
