If you don't want Optimus and want under 2.5kg, go for Lenovo Legion Y740 15 (Lenovo Malaysia website didn't mention GSYNC but it should have it)
*
Thank you for your suggestion. I want to ask, if I can accept Optimus , is Illegear Onyx is a good option. I really like those thin bezel. I have read from your Y 530 review that Optimus has its own problems , so is it really that bad?

I have a review on Onyx, coming soon. Overall I would say it's a good thin and light, but there are other options that can be considered as well

Optimus has some problems, try to avoid unless you need battery life. Not to mention that many GSYNC laptops nowadays do include MUX switch

Will you encounter situation of unplugged usage for a long time?

Smaller display size = Smaller font of course, but footprint will be smaller (easier to carry around)

Hi, I am looking for "gaming" laptop.

1. Budget: Around 6k.
2. Usage: Gaming(Dota 2, Civilization), Programming, Movie
3. Weight: <2.5KG
4. Battery: Around 2.5 hours

Looking at Selenite and Onyx, but the price is around 7k after customization.

Also interested at MSI GL63 8SE 098MY(6.3K) and MSI GL63 8SE 099MY (5.4K)

Can wait till Raya promo to buy. Or should I wait for 9th-gen Intel Processor?

Thank you.

I think a 1060 laptop is fine for your usage TBH
MSI GP63 8RE-820MY, 8RE-299MY
Asus GL504G-MES193T, GL504G-MES238T
HP Omen 15-dc0126tx
Illegear Onyx Lite (TongFang GK5CN6Z) - warm surface temps and loud fans under load due to SFF
Lenovo Legion Y530 81LB006LMJ
Illegear Raven (TongFang GJ5CN6E)

If you really want RTX laptop:
Level51 Slate-17 (Clevo P970ED)
Level51 Slate-15 (Clevo P960ED)
Asus GL504G-VES044T

If you need laptop now, don't wait buy now

(for 8GB RAM models) highly suggest RAM upgrade to 16GB for dual channel

Usage? Min how many hours of battery life? Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradable RAM?

Thanks for the reply!

About 7 hours or around there for the battery.

The reason not choosing HP because he had some bad experience with his previous HP laptop and wanted to try something different. But I'm open to suggestions if there's any HP lineup that fits the criteria.

Thank you!

My current laptop can still last for a few months I think.

So, Raven is better than Onyx lite?

Thank you for the recommendation.
