I'm looking at buying a new gaming laptop, but I found out that the new GTX 16 series is launching soon. Should I wait or does it not matter?

QUOTE(uno1 @ Feb 22 2019, 12:45 PM) Thanks, will do! if you don't care about battery life and weight, gaming laptop can be an option but you need to do some tweaks in order to let it run coolerWould like to ask opinion, gaming laptop suitable and not overkill for my needs? Or are there non gaming ones recommendable? Also wondering if it's true gaming laptops better build/more solid/reliable long term than others Also, if anyone can advice on best practices to optimize battery life (leave plugged in vs Drain etc?) Every model has different build quality. For reliability it kinda like lottery (depends on luck), however it the laptop runs hot for a long time then surely it will not last long Undervolt, set lower turbo ratio limit and set best battery life mode |

Appreciate all the advice! |

Everyone will have the first time doing it...not risky as long as you know the precautionsIt's not required 100% but most laptops come with bad stock paste...so it's recommended You're welcome |

QUOTE(dylan_chng @ Feb 22 2019, 09:01 PM) yeah i know, but i wouldnt mind spending more cause its for something new and in a way "future" proofing as well, could well easily last beyond 2~3 years..the i5+ 2060 y540 coming in May is said to be about 4~5k price range depending on config. i got this i5+1060 for 4.5k..
