Desktop CPU is rare in laptops

Ideapad 330s 14 +RAM+HDD or 320s 14 +RAM+SSD

Hi everyone, looking for a laptop with budget around 3k+- , mainly use for work and probably need to do some video (not heavy) & photoshop editing. Prefer it to be light weight and good battery life. Currently looking between the envy x360 & vivobook s15 huh.gif
*
Max weight in kg and min battery life in hours?

If you do Photoshop you probably need good sRGB display

Whoever is buying laptop today is better to check out Shopee's TMT sales.

Good price

Korra99 check out this https://shopee.com.my/Acer-Predator-Helios-...3178.1823854119

fussycat for gaming you can go for the above, most valued so far.

If thin and light then go for this

For the 8300H model, yes. Low sRGB IPS

Avoid Helios 300 due to bad cooling, build quality is OK but not great

Hi guys, after much consideration and going through all the recommendations, I'm thinking of getting a Zenbook. I went to see the actual product and the built quality seems not bad. I was recommended by ZM Fong for these 2 models as it is within my budget. (Thanks for your recommendations)

Asus Zenbook UX430U-NGV176T
Asus Zenbook UX331U-ALEG032T

I would like to ask which Zenbook is more value for money and which one I should be getting. Thanks in advanced.

yeah same thoughts as well.

from that link 3.7k for i5+4gb ram + 1060.
initially seems good price. but after considering, ram defo needs an upgrade, 8gb ram is another what 200+?

so already 3.9k there. but the 60hz ips is not upgradeable and also lots of complaints on cooling issues.. rather pay slightly more for the y530 or raven elite, at least can get 144hz screen.

btw want to ask. for the y530 144hz panel, is it low srgb ips as well or what?
you're using y530 as well right. any complaints for the screen? is it good? like in terms of brightness, colours, viewing angles, etc.
care to share your experience

All high refresh panels have high sRGB

No complaints, I never used a good display before so I'm very satisfied. Minimal backlight bleed, 25% brightness more than enough for indoor use, colours are vibrant. Only minor issue is the OKish contrast which can be fixed by tuning a little bit of brightness via Intel Graphics Control Panel

Note that you might get slightly better/worse colour quality even though it's the same panel (lottery)

Max weight i think is around 1.8-2kg and battery life is roughly 4 hours (longer is better) if possible, i dont mind the sRGB display that much tho, thanks in advance rclxms.gif

Hi everyone
looking for recs for a new laptop .
1. Budget : up to RM4500, no need to max out, at same time willing to consider more premium if worth the investment, basically want best value / bang for buck. Leaving more towards reliability, good build.
2. Usage   : use laptop for everything entertainment, moderate multitasking - many windows open but no heavy programs mainly watching shows, light-moderate office, heavy surfing (10 or more tabs open). No gaming (but very open to gaming laptops if suit my multitasking usage?). Occasional minor video editing (cutting, timing) no need special display specs.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :
15.6" and above,
not fussy re:battery life (usually used plugged in - btw, is that better for batt life as I'm told?hmm.gif), I suppose at least 3hrs?
not fussy about weight, hardly bring it around, I guess anything below 4kg
Prefer ssd+hdd, nothing major, 120-240ish gb ssd +1tb hdd or thereabouts
Decent display for enjoying movies but nothing outlandish, as long decently comfortable on eyes for long usage (max up to 10hrs/day). Prefer anti glare/matte
Decent speaker, given usage

After my own online research, quite seriously deliberating between
llegear raven vs laguna gtx1050ti
Apparently better value and solidbuild, better cooling compared to my second choice msi GL63 8RD ?
Had looked through notebookcheck.com's top 10 multimedia laptop list, seems not as good value, especially for my needs? All seem >rm6000
trying to strike a balance between overshooting and under, seeking wisdom from knowledgeable sifu's

Quite tired out by my 2 dell machines and an absolutely dud Lenovo IdeaPad (battery won't charge, then speaker stopped working - both within 6months, then keyboard went wonky within 1.5 years) that had me reverting to my trusty old toshiba after each new one died. Wondering if it's all just luck or is there merit in investing in something beyond budget-y laptops?

Thanks ahead for any tips/advice

Thanks, will do!
Would like to ask opinion, gaming laptop suitable and not overkill for my needs? Or are there non gaming ones recommendable?
Also wondering if it's true gaming laptops better build/more solid/reliable long term than others

Also, if anyone can advice on best practices to optimize battery life (leave plugged in vs Drain etc?)

A quick reply for you as well

First of all ryzen 2600 and i5 8600 wasn't a series . They are model .

2nd i5 8600 doesn't exist . And if it exist it will be desktop processor that will not exist in normal laptop .

3rd i5 8600k alone will cost more than rm1200 which left no more budget for your build .

i5-8600 does exist.. but not in malaysia.. test model for oem brand.. quite poor performance so they ditch it
