Acer Swift 3 SF315-51G-55UH/56T6 - non-upgradable RAM
Acer Aspire 5 A515-52G-547K +RAM+SSD
Acer Aspire 5 A615-51G-53QF +RAM+SSD
HP Pavilion 15-CS0033TX / 15-CS1026TX +RAM+SSD - short battery life

If you're OK with gaming laptop:
Lenovo Legion Y530 81FV016UMJ +SSD
Illegear Raven (TongFang GI5CN4E/5E) - optional high sRGB 144Hz panel - need to do some tweaks in order to stretch battery life to 4 hrs
Commandos Glock 5 (Clevo NB50TK1) with optional high sRGB panel upgrade - need to do some tweaks in order to stretch battery life to 4 hrs

Thanks for the recommendation.. Two more questions, is there any big difference between Lenovo ideapad 330 (mx150/radeon540) and Acer Aspire 5 A515-52G-547K? Are the radeon 540 and mx 150 offer similar performance?

Because personally i like overall Hp pavilion 15-cs0033tx but the battery life is a concern to me.. As for the aspire 5 I don't really like the design.

Hi,

Helping my younger brother to source laptop.

Budget: RM2500 Max. (Used also can,pls provide link)
Usage: mainly on Adobe illustrator and Photoshop, no gaming, watch movie.

Requirement: a laptop that can last him for at least another 2 years if possible.

Note: understand that the budget is on the lower side, will really appreciate inputs from experts here. Thank you for reading my post.

So you don't want low sRGB display? Min how many hours of battery life? Any preference on weight and display size?

Hi ZM Fong,

Thank you for the reply.

sRGB : preferably on the high side
Battery life : maybe ~9 hours without charge (but I mostly use it at home so not too worry only battery life)
Weight : less than 3lbs preferably
Display : 13.3' - 14' ?

Good day Sifu(s)
Sorry come back again as there are change in preference in laptop specification

Usage : Mainly use for work purpose which include documentations, Microsoft office and surfing the net. May include accounting software as well
Screen : anything as long as not too small
Battery life : at least 5 hours, longer better
Graphic card: can be intergrated as not used for gaming
Storage: Prefer to be ssd
Ram : At least 8GB
Weight: As light as possible. If possible around 1.5kg? as it will be carried around
Budget: Below 3k.

I heard that even with additional ssd added(which it is not originally manufactured inside the original laptop) has lower performance as compared to original manufactured with ssd. I.e Laptop comes with 256 ssd. Is that true?

Thanks in advance and apologize for asking again

prefer to have numpad. low sRGB display is okay, have no preference on the display. It's okay to have non-upgradable ram as long as it has 8gb. Display size have no preference, but about +-14inch?

I suggest you to use external numpad since most built in numpad is in 15+inch models and they don't usually have <1.5kg weight

Under 1.5kg:
Acer Spin 5 SP513-52N-58QD - good sRGB display, non-upgradable RAM
Acer Swift 3 SF314-54-55JD / 57FD / 59T5 +RAM
Huawei Matebook D 14

Under 1.7kg:
Lenovo Ideapad 330S-14IKB 81F400G1MJ / G2MJ +RAM+HDD
Lenovo Ideapad 320S-14IKBR 81BN002XMJ / 81BN0071MJ / 81BN0072MJ +RAM+SSD

- looking for laptop with long battery life (5-7 hours) is okay

- gpu at least nvidia mx150

- display 1080p 90-100% srgb with around 300 nits

- price under rm4k

currently looking at MSI PS42, but hoping to see the successor first as PS42 is already considered old model by now

acer swift 3 looks good but the display panel is subpar

Budget: Rm2000 Max
Usage: MS words, PowerPoint, and web surfing
Display Size: 14"
Size: As thin and light weight as possible
Battery life: 5 hours min

Want a reputable brand that can last for 8-10 years, this is for mom, her last Acer laptop served her well for almost 10 years d.

Prefabbly something that is as close as possible to Thinkpad T470s in weight and thickness as she really likes my company's one, and would be good if it comes with feminine colours .

Hi tech gurus,
I'm looking for an all rounder laptop for engineering and gaming

Usage: CAD and some 3D modelling software, gaming on the side (waiting on cyberpunk 2077)

budget: RM3k-5k

GPU: can run demanding games decently at around 60FPS, preferably medium to max settings

size: around 2.5kg, can fit backpack for uni

Battery: 2-3 hours (gaming laptop isn't known for long battery life)

Any recommendations? THANKS IN ADVANCE<3
