Hi tech gurus, I'm looking for an all rounder laptop for engineering and gaming Usage: CAD and some 3D modelling software, gaming on the side (waiting on cyberpunk 2077)
budget: RM3k-5k
GPU: can run demanding games decently at around 60FPS, preferably medium to max settings
size: around 2.5kg, can fit backpack for uni
Battery: 2-3 hours (gaming laptop isn't known for long battery life)
Any recommendations? THANKS IN ADVANCE<3

University student here. Want to get laptop for engineering and gaming.
1. Budget: 3k-5k (can increase budget if a good option arise) 2. Usage: AutoCAD, engineering, gaming at 60fps high 1920x1080 3. Requirements: decent color, max 2.3kg laptop (lightweight powerbrick if possible), >2-3 hr (higher is welcomed)
I've been eyeing for illegear prodigy/rogue since it fits the requirements, but other laptop recommendations are welcomed.
side question: how big of a difference is there between a laptop 1660ti 6gb and a laptop 2060 6gb in terms of gaming?

QUOTE(prasys @ May 12 2019, 01:33 PM) When you say engineering ? for studies or work ? 1660Ti vs 2060 , 1660Ti is capable to drive at High settings with >fps 60. It has a performance of a GeForce 1070 .However 2060 has advantages when you are doing machine learning or AI Studies, but should be able to last abt 3-4 years before obsolete right? I want to build desktop when i work, but for now i always move around without car so laptop is my only option.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ May 12 2019, 01:34 PM) Can't comment on Prodigy and Rogue since I haven't test them out, however Rogue should be OK (2.35kg) Fine with 1060 laptop? Or you prefer 2060/1660TI? 1060 laptop is also fine, but got newer and faster graphics card out now. I prefer 1660ti cos i dont really see the use of raytracing in 2060 for me, but if the price between the two isnt much different i rather have the better one.

QUOTE(prasys @ May 12 2019, 01:52 PM) 1660Ti would do the trick , as it has a bit more cores. So you can play future games at 1080p High (maybe slight things at Medium also). Now would the whole laptop last after 4 years , that's a different question... 1060 is still going strong and will go strong for 1080p gaming so how much is the difference in performance between a 1060 and a 1660Ti and price difference? i seen the 1060 around for quite some time. yeah 4 years would be a stretch :c

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ May 12 2019, 01:57 PM) But 1660TI/2060 laptops is above 5k I can increase budget by 500, but i will put off buying 2.5 storage and ram upgrade for the meantime.
