13inch-15inch, good srgb display would be nice but not a top priority

1. Budget : <RM2k
2. Usage  : Light internet use, youtube, etc, nothing intensive.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Ultrabook, light and easy to carry around, screen resolution 1080p if possible, will upgrade to SSD after getting laptop so HDD must not be soldered. Need not 2-in-1. Screen size can be anything from 12 - 15.5

Consider bumping up budget by a bit
Budget including SSD cost?
Max weight preferred in kg? Any preference on battery life?

Budget is not inclusive of SSD, that one will be done separately.
If you don't mind can I see the difference in option between my <2k budget and "bumping budget by a bit"?

No preference in weight and battery life, as long as the laptop is of ultrabook size and easy to carry around.

Acer Swift 3 SF314-54-55JD/57FD/59T5 +RAM, SF314-55-501C +RAM
Lenovo Ideapad 330S-14IKB +RAM+HDD (optional)

1. TBH most laptop speakers have 'nothing special' sound quality, suggest using external speakers/headphones
2. I've excluded 2 in 1

Much better performance (CPU, RAM...)

Cheapest good option would be Lenovo Ideapad 330S-14IKB +RAM or Ideapad 320S-14IKB/14IKBR +RAM+SSD

Require suggestions for buying new laptop,

Purpose : to watch movies , basic office work and playing games. Games that I have played such as fifa, call of duty,GTA and mostly first man shooter games. Most of the time I am at sea and my only entertainment is my laptop by watching movies and playing game.

My budget around 5 to 7k
My previous laptop was with me for 10yrs and looking for a long term usage.

So far I have checked out ASUS TUF and MSI any other suggestions.kindly advise.

Any preference on weight, battery life and display quality (sRGB)? Prefer gaming laptop?

Long term usage - performance can barely keep up after 5 years, reliability mainly depends on luck

2. Budget : 5k
3. Screen size : touch screen 13-15in
4. Main preference : ssd, reliable, not too heavy, long warranty would be great, enough processing power/ram/etc to handle my usage.
5. Usage : ms office, watching movies, video calls (no need hi-res camera), photo editing and other relatively light programs like ms office.

Preferred max weight in kg and min battery life in hours? Need dGPU?

If you want best reliability, premium business laptops
No brand is the 'most reliable' FYI

weight i would say max 2kg but i am not lugging it around everyday so if its slightly over i wont mind. battery life of 6 hours while working with office software will be great. i have no idea about the gpu... what i need is that a movie on the local drive around 5gb size will play smoothly. i dont do much gaming.

Perfectly fitting for all my requirements, thanks so much for the recommendation. Please also let me know if there's any more choice in my price range.

If under 2.5k (not including upgrades), also can consider these, however they are 15 inch models:
Lenovo Ideapad 330S-15IKB +RAM
Acer Aspire 5 A615-51G-53QF +RAM+SSD

1. Budget: around 3.5k. can up to 4k if deal is good haha
2. Usage: movies, Ms office, maybe some light gaming like nba 2k etc. Mainly looking for multimedia laptop.
3. Requirement:
- don't really have any specific brand in mind but tend to prefer Lenovo, Dell or HP.
- 13-14 inch screen
- preferrably ram and HDD/SSD not soldered
- nice screen will be a plus otherwise will be mostly connected to a monitor
- not too thick - less than 2cm and 2kg maybe?
- battery life not really a concern ~5hrs seems pretty ok

Thanks in advance sifus smile.gif

can see the choices between good display and upgradable ram? would tend to favour upgradable ram more - but how suck would the display be?

not necessarily need dGPU, but if got something like mx150 would be good.

thanks again smile.gif
