can see the choices between good display and upgradable ram? would tend to favour upgradable ram more - but how suck would the display be?

not necessarily need dGPU, but if got something like mx150 would be good.

thanks again smile.gif

Preferred max weight in kg and min battery life in hours? Max budget?
*
Max budget 5k. Weight must be like ultrabook. Min battery life 4-5hrs. Need it to be good for gaming.

I need a range on weight bcoz everyone preference is different. 'Thin and light' is too vague. Some may say 3kg and 3cm thickness is still considered 'thin and light' while some think that under 2kg and 2cm is thin an light.

I assume that you need <2kg and <2cm, if you need 4-5 hrs battery life, can consider Commandos Katana (Clevo P955EP6), on sale now. Keep in mind that most thin and light gaming laptop has poor thermals

this one is more along the lines of notebook. I'm looking for more similar to Acer Nitro Spin 5 with either GTX1050Ti or 1060

Isn't that a convertible laptop? Ehh, hard to find one geared toward gaming, but I think you might be looking for Dell XPS 15 with the dedicated GPU, or the Surface Book 2 from Microsoft. Others exist too, but I wouldn't recommend them since these kind of 2-in-1 "gaming" laptop tends to throttle alot, to the point it's not comfortable to game at all.

XPS 15 is out of your budget, furthermore it has many issues

Might want to consider Yoga 730 15, only 1050 though

I still think that Commandos Katana will suit you more
