A friend of mine decided to give it up coz he have too many pets... QUOTE(BlueHeng @ Jun 11 2007, 12:51 PM) Erm.. so in another words you never read before breeding them??? Oh goodness you better start reading la.. if not don't put males and females in the same tank. Hopefully the pups grow up well. Haha... Ive read about hamster breeding only.. QUOTE(Proclaimer @ Jun 11 2007, 04:41 PM) inbreeding is best done when u know EXACTLY what u want and u know very well the health 'background' of the pair (even so, siblings is A BIG NO...) ... otherwise it is not adviceable... coz if both pair got so many bad traits then the bad traits will roughly become double to the offsprings... people mainly do inbreeding to get or strengthen the good traits they like to have, but still the risk is there... so inbreeding is not easy and not for everyone my friend... trust me...This post has been edited by arraille: Jun 11 2007, 05:06 PM |

LOLOL. btw foo, can feed mealworms bread ah? Gerbils are like that, hard to catch but on your hand, its easy to handle unlike hamsters that go bungee down your hand..Teh Boy is easy to catch because he lost one leg or maybe he is fine with me as i catch him more than 5 times everyday..lol..Others like Walnut, Bungee and Coffee are still quite hard to catch. All you need is to know their movement rythm. And most important, you dont need to be soft. Just grab hold of their body is ok already.. |

Wah... the sp Nutmeg really nice but it does look similar to sp Agouti hahaha.... nice nice.
Chokee is now retired. Nescafe is now pregnant with her last litter as well. Hope something nice pops out hahahaha. Proclaimer, Firstly, did you know it was pregnant? Breeding takes reading and also time. The lost of a pup or 2 is normal if the female is weak or the pups are unhealthy. This is normally seen with inbreeding lah.... Inbreeding is ok if you have done research, know what you want to breed and that both animals are healthy and in perfect condition.... if both unhealthy, breed also no use lah, makes the animal suffer only. You better separate whatever adult gerbils you have into a male tank and female tank.... |
