BTW guys, I have received the final amount for 1 of my accounts and my FIL's accounts that have been turboed.
I say the final amount because they bill is not yet available for download, only the supposed final amount viewable on the unifi portal. Judging from the numbers shown, the new perpetual discount has not been applied, or even pro rated (e.g. turbo on 7 Sept+extra perpetual discount, before 7 Sept lower perpertual discount). For my turbo account, when clicking on 'bill details', the internet is still shown as RM219 (RM80 perpetual discount, before turbo) whereas the new perpetual discount shown on the dashboard is RM110.
Not sure if that will change once the itemized bill can be downloaded sweat.gif
or could it TM messing about due to my report  hmm.gif

Apparently they increased the base price of 100Mbps/800Mbps to RM359?
End up the final bill is the same as before even with the new RM110 discount (vs RM80 before).

Or am I reading this wrongly? rclxub.gif
Those who got turboed, what about your bill? I seem to recall a few people posting about having to pay lower.

I see some people shared they just simply request to upgrade form 30 Mbps to 100 Mbps but I unable to and I think 100 Mbps it's every sufficient.

I am really excited to see how things works. So tomorrow is the last day for the SMS. The agent even tell me if you never received any SMS on Monday just let him know he'll do the needful.

I have read somewhere in LYN, either here or the Telco Talk>Maxis fibre section about unscrupulous agents simply registering 100Mbps for the customer when the infrastructure only support 30Mbps.. not sure how they managed to do it though sweat.gif
at the end of the day customer complained to CS, tech support came and found out about the actual max speed supported sweat.gif
Let me try and dig that post..

So TM finally call me regarding my termination notice for 3 accounts. It was from the marketing dept and she had no idea about my MCMC reports and all.
She offered me the readily available 100Mbps@RM129.. before she finished her sentence I cut her off saying I know all about this plan and I already know 1 of my accounts has been turboed.. I briefly explained to her about the story of my report, she sounded surprised .

About 30secs to ramp up to full speed. 400Mbps average. Peaked at 480Mbps. Could be limitation of the Mikrotik RB750Gr3.

I think some throttling is going on but not specifically on torrents. Needs more tests but it looks like a rate limit on new connections. Or it could be total number of connections but I think the former is more likely.

Mine was originally Jumbo before I downgraded to Jumbo lite but still shown as 'aneka' on the portal.

What does it say on your unifi portal dashboard? Did you get the so called early bird promo? A really 'special' RM20 discount.. so special till they write there 'special discount' even if it is shit compared to the much higher promo perpetual discount others get laugh.gif

Extra special TM customers pay either RM329 or RM359 for 100Mbps/800Mbps with either A/R/V or ultimate tv pack.

I will start with your cable is slower than WIFI first:
Assuming it is same desktop, same cable, then all I can say is the problem is in your desktop and nothing to do with the cable or you router. You have to find out why yourself already.

WIFI cannot go faster than 500mbps:
Running at 500mbps is already near the maximum of air time usage already. There is not much you can tweak or do.

To try and get the absolute top speed, you disconnect all the cable devices connected to router, then disable all WIFI devices.
So you have one WIFI device connect to router and test.

Other tweaks you can try:
Toggle airtime fairness on / off
Toggle AMPDU RTS on / off
Set Multicast Rate to highest (WARNING: Will cause connection issue)

Do not change to big ass antenna. You have a top speed "problem", not coverage problem.
Formula for top speed: Highest MCS + lower EIRP + perfect environment for spatial multiplexing.
Changing to big ass antenna increases EIRP. Definitely won't help your Ferrari going 300km/h

1st time hearing this excuse from them. My 1 account that was given the turbo upgrade is always using a non TM router. Same goes to my FIL's accounts

My account hasn't been a staff account for over 2 years and I don't think TM plays favourites when it comes to upgrading its users. I was literally subscribed since Unifi launch day to the VIP20 package. It just seems ridiculous that they're doing these upgrades at random regardless of your GPON infrastructure, what you're paying or how long you've been subscribed. I've never really bothered about paying the full price for the VIP100 package but hearing my friends tell me about their overnight 1Gbps TIME upgrades along with a price reduction + the endless news articles about lower Internet access prices really rubbed me the wrong way.

Speaking from experience, it takes a whole 5 minutes to upgrade the VLAN profile of your ONU, RADIUS profile of your account and billing profile. I even checked my ONU's physical callingstation ID after the upgrade and it was the same as before -- no physical OLT port movement involved. There's absolutely no excuse for TM to delay the turbo upgrades for GPON users except if they're using an older 10/100Mbps ONU.

Let's see... 3 accounts using Draytek Vigor 2130n upgraded to 800Mbps, 1 account using ASUS RT-N12HP when it was upgraded to 500Mbps laugh.gif
However I see a pattern for these turbo accounts -

2 accounts under my FIL's name = new hardware received (BTU, router) during 'thank you surprise' campaign

1 account under my FIL's name, the one using RT-N12HP = original account terminated shortly before the thank you surprise campaign, registered new account hence given new hardware (TM gave the notorious TPLINK C1200 but decided to use the RT-N12HP)

1 account under my name = new hardware received during 'thank you surprise' campaign (though I wrongly posted here some time back about the BTU being an old one that only support fast ethernet - confusion due to the username and address being almost the same)

My 2 accounts that have yet to receive the turbo upgrade:
Acc 1 - Got nothing from thank you surprise because it was already on 100Mbps + jumbo pack.
Acc 2 - Did not receive new hardware during 'thank you surprise' - received a call from the installer asking me if I am using my own router.. I said yes and he said he will just do the upgrade without coming to check. I didn't give much thought to it, I felt that it was more convenient that way so I didn't object or anything.

So the pattern here apparently is TM have it on record that these turboed accounts are using new gigabit BTU and assumed to be using their routers.

Except for 1 account, the rest of these said accounts are all at the same apartment, just different units.

Big mistake upgrading to 100Mbps early. Their POV is (though they won't say it to your face) is "siapa suruh upgrade awal?"
Same thing for Streamyx users, "siapa suruh kau tinggal di tempat takda streamyx?"

yeah, I believe all of us who got the turbo upgrade saw increased perpetual discount on the unifi portal
however when the bill finally arrives...
it shows that TM actually increased the base price for Internet ranting.gif
meaning the increased discount shown is only cosmetic vmad.gif
in my case, discount increased by RM30
but the base price for Internet gone up from RM329 to RM359

can always count on TMnut to do stupid shit like this laugh.gif

I submitted termination notice via twitter. After that I can see there are 3 open tickets on my unifi portal (since 3 accounts termination). After a month or so you have to go to TM Point to surrender the BTU on day 20 - 25 or thereabouts. You can ask them about the exact dates.
Because of my termination notice, I received a call from their marketing department recently trying to get me to sign up for the readily available 100Mbps@RM129.. LOL

BTW guys I asked TM on livechat regarding transferring ownership of account.. was told that the monthly bill will be exactly the same as the previous owner, perpetual discount, speed (if new address supports it) will be carried over.
So those who have a turboed account, especially if you are paying RM189 per month, maybe some people will be willing to pay a reasonable amount to get that account. laugh.gif

Getting your bill reduced? I doubt it. For my case, I'm not even asking for the RM189 price. I asked for RM229 and I even brought the physical bill (my FIL's name) to Menara TMNut. The staff said have to ask the superiors.. end up didn't get the approval. I also used the screenshot from my FIL's unifi portal to show the price, still no luck till now.
