Went to Unifi live chat to submit termination notices for 5 accounts today. Persuaded a few of my friends to change to Maxis or Time.

The first one fine. At the end of the 2nd one, the agent asked if there were anymore and told me that I’ll have to chat back again.

So the most accounts you can raise a termination notice for is 2 in one live chat session.

I just remembered.. weren't you one of the lucky ones who got to test unifi turbo before it was rolled out to other customers?
I recall you posted a speedtest, calling for other beta testers, and mentioned something about media embargo..? hmm.gif

If the above is true, did TM just lower your speed back to normal after the end of the beta test phase? hmm.gif

After promising to get the technical team to call me and then raised several complaint reports, I kenot tahan already and went straight to TMpoint Cyberjaya.

I calmly explained my frustration of paying RM316 monthly for 100mbps while everyone else is enjoying the same speed at a much lower price then the front desk lady asked me whether I want to downgrade to the new RM129 100mbps package or cut the Turbo queue. I opted for the latter (I wanted a temporary discount OR faster upgrade to turbo'd speed) and then she wrote this behind my queue ticket and told me to explain to the staff at the counter that I demand for a faster turbo upgrade by cutting the queue:

user posted image

When my number came up, I explained the same thing and the staff said she understands and will send the instruction to the Turbo technical team and upgrade my line as soon as possible. The staff at the counter proceeded to give me a customer retention form and I filled it up on the spot. She said the upgrade will take place within 2 weeks.

I guess I'm gonna have to be patient for the next 2 weeks while waiting for the speed upgrade and my 20m Cat7 cables to arrive from Shopee..

EDIT: My Cat7 cables just arrived less than 2 minutes after writing this.. lol
*
What is the breakdown on your bill for this RM316?

Because the normal price for 100Mbps is like this
Internet RM299
iptv RM30

Total RM329 excluding tax

One of my accounts is like the above, except for a shitty RM20 'special' discount (total RM309), the reward for signing up for 100Mbps when it was first launched laugh.gif

I wish I could but I'm sure I can't. You guys got the same speed at RM189 because of the Thank You Surprise. TM really screwed over the 100mbps Advance Pro users at the time by offering only Ultimate HyppTV package.
Internet RM209
Unifi TV RM90

Sums up to RM299 ex tax. Anybody know if I can opt to cancel the Unifi TV portion now that I am out of contract?
*
eh RM90 is for which tv pack?
AFAIK ultimate (last time known as 'Jumbo' but now with more channels) is RM60
the rest, aneka/ruby/varnam/jumbo lite is RM30

during the thank you surprise I was already on jumbo pack, was offered either a/r/v or that shitty webe line
lol
by the time ultimate pack was introduced I had already downgrade to jumbo lite

QUOTE(SomeoneElse @ Oct 2 2018, 06:01 PM)
I went to TM point last weekend to change from my old VIP10 plan to turbo 100 plan. I've just received a message from TM asking me to call 100 to make an appointment with a technician? I wasn't told anything about this from the staff in TM point..

I will call them tomorrow but I was just wondering what's the technician gonna do? If they're gonna just change the router I don't see a point in them coming as I have a 3rd party router which is probably better than what they're gonna give me anyway
*
I have a friend who was using VIP10 (with the orange dlink router and the ancient fiberhome modem laugh.gif ), recently (like 2 weeks back) he got upgraded automatically to 100Mbps@RM129. He was asking me about upgrading routers and all... I told him to go to tmpoint and complain about slow speed, there's a chance TM will give him new hardware. So he went to TM Point and complained, 2 days later TM techs came to his home and replaced the BTU and router for free.. he said the TM guy told him they will lodge a report about his equipment being faulty. He didn't mention anything about contract renewal though.

Yesterday i try to downgrade my 50mbps to 100mbps rm129 package. They said i only can change to 159 plan  and need to pay penalty if want to change to 129 plan. The reason is my hypptv pakej ultimate cannot downgrade to aneka etc. Wtf
*
maybe because your hypptv is still under contract?

If anyone remembers my post about the MCMC report I did on TM due to unfair pricing (or if anyone cares for that matter laugh.gif )
Around 10 days after the report, TM closed it after sending me an email saying the turbo is in pilot phase upgrade stage by stage blablabla... basically not touching the unfair pricing issue at all.
So I reopened the report, and they finally replied around 2 days ago (after I pushed MCMC via email to get an answer from TM).
This time TM didn't email me but those buggers finally posted something on the MCMC complaints portal.. saying my accounts will be turboed within a month. Again, totally ignoring the unfair pricing part. Those rhino-fkers.
For the 2nd time I had to reopen the report, this time I asked for a straight answer, can they or can they not give me RMXXX price for my 3 accounts. If not then so be it and I would like MCMC to comment on it, whether they think it is fair or otherwise or whatever rather than stay silent and only say things like "we have asked TM to investigate" or "TM is still investigating the matter".
I also re-read my old emails to MCMC (as old as 2010, ya man I been usin unifi since then xD ) complaining about TM, and... well, read this excerpt from 1 of my emails:
CODE
12:38AM, 10 December 2010.

No signs of the 8 premium channels from the arrogant TM.

I believe I am entitled to another rebate since TM have proven once again that they are sleazy lying bastards. I don't care if the amount is lower than the one I already received.

MCMC please respond. I am tired of your passiveness and lack of communication despite my numerous emails. I know you are busy since there are lots of complaints against TM but I don't think you are busy till the extent of TOTALLY ignoring a complainant.

I also wrote in BM, made me chuckle reading this excerpt from 2010:
CODE
2. TM yang merasakan diri mereka 'untouchable' MASIH LAGI BELUM menghubungi saya tentang status 8 premium channels yang mereka cuba tipu kepada para pelanggan UNIFI VIP20.

Yeah, still the same poop from the filthy toilet from way back. laugh.gif

What I'm trying to say here is, MCMC and TM are BFFs. laugh.gif
If you have a valid issue with Maxis, Celcom or Digi, you're likely to get a speedy, fair resolution if you report to MCMC.

Naughty way?

Helping my recently 500 mbps Turbo-ed neighbour test why she is only getting 80-90Mbps on her PC on LAN. Suspect it could be BTU port stuck at 100Mbps which a few here has experienced. Loaned her my BTU while I do some in-depth diagnosis on her BTU. Might take awhile.

on twitter also many complain about slow speed or not getting full speed.. in most cases probably due to their hardware. Can't really blame them though, non IT savvy or should I say non network enthusiasts.. laugh.gif and TM didn't do enough to educate their customers.

Same here. While I did put in a request for termination, I'm not really going to terminate it if I get my 800Mbps. However I'm helping a few people terminate theirs and switch to Maxis RM129. And I'm going to terminate one of my company's Unifi. This one deserved to be terminated anyway, it's RM599 for 10Mbps Fixed IP.
*
I applied Maxis Biz 100Mbps for my boss, they said will take 3 business days to evaluate our documents but it has been almost 2 weeks or so with no contact whatsoever.. didn't reply my email as well. Lazy frontliners at the TTDI branch vmad.gif

Latest update on my TMcTMc report..

Read the excerpt from email below:
CODE

So I complained about unfair pricing, somewhere in the report I also mentioned about not getting turbo..
1st time TMcTMc closed the report by replying (insert robotic answer about the turbo being in pilot stages) without mentioning anything about the pricing.
2nd time TMcTMc closed the report by saying my accounts will be turboed within a month's time (actually 1 account out of 3 has been turboed early last month).. again, no mention about the unfair pricing. Seriously I don't mind not getting turbo yet for all 3 accounts, I can just relocate the 1 account that has been turboed and use it.
I reopen the report again. Wrote a blunt email to tMCtMC, and got the above reply.

Finally, I may have to meet tMCtMC representative along with tMCtMC folks ust to discuss my reasonable price adjustment request on my accounts in a more serious manner. LOL.

So... anyone else got to this level where TMcTMc calls for a meet up? laugh.gif

*my report was created before TM introduced the new 100Mbps for RM129.

won't be surprised if they just say "nahh we are not interested.. you tell that to the nasty customer MCMC!"
and MCMC will reply "ok boss! we will tell him again you are still investigating the matter!"

btw suddenly I see a mysterious charge on 2 of my accounts:

Today the technician came and install the 100mbps from my previous 50mbps. Before the installation, my dual band asus router 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ both channel will give download speed of 50mbps.

After the installation, the 2.4GHZ channel still give 50mbps and the 5GHZ will give 100mbps.

The technician said that only 5GHZ can support 100mbps. Is this correct?

Should I use the d-link router provided that is still sealed in the box?

Thanks.

Last time when I was using tplink wdr 4300 and asus usb n14 wifi receiver on my pc there was no issue getting 100Mbps on 2.4Ghz, distance from router only about 2m though 😆

Ive been paying paying RM316 so far on Advance Pro plan.
*
IIRC, your RM316 is inclusive of tax right?

Same thing happened to my FIL's 2 100Mbps accounts after getting turbo (I did post the screenshot previously)
Originally RM100 perpetual discount become RM130 perpetual discount.

Before, during 100Mbps = RM229 ex. tax
After turbo 800Mbps = RM199 ex. tax
non-ultimate hypptv pack

Still not as good as those RYE2017 accounts though.. sweat.gif

QUOTE(Mazda9 @ Oct 7 2018, 12:24 AM)
Based on personal experience, in order to go all out against TM make sure you have your facts black and white all well documented and then you go all out and challenge them. Log a report to MCMC, wait for 14 days and if they keep closing the case without giving proper explanation, reopen back the case and provide the reason why the case was reopen and then call mcmc hotline and tell them what Tm is doing with your case and they eventually will then assign your case from TM to CFM (Consumer Forum Management) and once your case is with CFM, TM will not play with fire procived you have all your facts right and in most cases, CFM will usually back consumers on any cases assign to them and TM they can’t simply Taichi or provide unreasonable and close the case as CFM officers will closely follow up with TM.
*
My case has finally been assigned to CFM on 5th Oct, as shown on the complaints portal. Reported on Sept 4 till now haven't settled. I had to spell it out for MCMC that they (MCMC) are not doing much for my case, I think they cannot tahan or just lazy and finally let CFM handle it.

I was under the impression that it doesn't matter whether the report is lodged with MCMC or CFM. sweat.gif
On hindsight, I think CFM is more efficient because they replied my email the 1st time I emailed them (since MCMC wasn't replying) I read here that some people tried contacting TM/MCMC to get a price adjustment similar to what another customer is getting.. for instance, the 100MBps RM189 RYE2017 (retention year end) campaign.. and TM will practically ask them "show me the account if it exists"
Well for my case I already showed them my FIL's accounts. In fact I have full access to them on the Unifi portal.
They didn't even comment on it, not even a "no we cannot give the same price as that account". Probably didn't want to put their answer in black and white so the best thing to do is taichi by giving a non related answer.

Latest update is they are trying to get TM to give a firm answer.. if I'm not satisfied with what they call the 'final solution', they will arrange for a meet up rclxub.gif I agreed.

Hi bro,
Yes you already got 800mbps upgrade.
cat 6e? not cat5e? you need cat6. ALL of your lan cable must be replaced with cat6. cat5e only support 100mbps. U need buy new one with cat6 so you get 1gbps.
make sure both cable is cat6:
1. the lan cable between your pc and main router
2. the lan cable between your main router and modem device (modem is the one connected to your fiber optic cable)

also see if your router support gigabit connection (see first post in this thread or google router specs)

maybe you mistaken cat 6e and cat5e because i looked up cat6e dont exist https://superuser.com/questions/886402/what...thernet-cabling
*
a proper cat5e can support 1000 Mbps bro

user posted image
Tested using
cat5e from BTU to router
cat6 from router to laptop

unitek brand. sold at ALLIT hypermarket. good quality thick cables. actually wanted to buy cat6 for the BTU connection as well but I took the wrong one, overlooked the label because the packaging, and the cables look exactly the same except for a small label indicating the category.

*
Eh, you're tring to remove the unifi tv subscription totally? I believe no one has managed to do that.. only for redundant tv pack (e.g. if you already have ultimate, want to remove ruby)

QUOTE(Mazda9 @ Oct 7 2018, 08:39 AM)
You stand a high chance since you have your FIL’s bill and have submitted to them for comparison.

If by this coming week, you still don’t hear from CFM by Wednesday, call them straight on their hotline number. Once call , update the report log saying that you have call CFM and spoke to (YYyYXMW), awaiting Furher update on case.. keep updating the report for any interaction you make as the report is a very powerful bombshell if worst case scenario if it ends up in legal disputes...
*
Thanks for the tip thumbup.gif

BTW guys, I have received the final amount for 1 of my accounts and my FIL's accounts that have been turboed.
I say the final amount because they bill is not yet available for download, only the supposed final amount viewable on the unifi portal. Judging from the numbers shown, the new perpetual discount has not been applied, or even pro rated (e.g. turbo on 7 Sept+extra perpetual discount, before 7 Sept lower perpertual discount). For my turbo account, when clicking on 'bill details', the internet is still shown as RM219 (RM80 perpetual discount, before turbo) whereas the new perpetual discount shown on the dashboard is RM110.
Not sure if that will change once the itemized bill can be downloaded sweat.gif
or could it TM messing about due to my report hmm.gif
