Since the Unifi TV is itemised separately, anyone manage to unsubscribe/remove this package? Mine is Ultimate Pack, which they charge RM 60, have never used it since day 1.

TM said cannot remove this, this must come together with the normal internet service. I find it ridiculous, the way they bill it also as separate item, why I can't remove it. Seems like they force me to pay something which I don't need
*
You cannot remove it. If you read page 1 it already stated that UniFi is a tripple play service which is inclusive of phone line and TV.

Yes, if he's close by, must be the same OLT for the BTU to connect to and he uses your PPPoE credentials. If OLT in different area then the BTU may not authenticate.
*
So by switching BTU means you switch the phoneline with your neighbour as well? do you use your own login or your neighbour's PPPoE?

Hi All,

Gotten my Turbo SMS yesterday. Already restarted the BTU and router. But my BTU is Fiberhome and upon checking it only support 100 mbps link to router. My router is ASUS RT-N12HP which support N wifi. But link from BTU is only 100 mbps.

Test speed shows around 90 mbps. Need to consider buying new router. But BTU not sure can change or not since owned by TM. They just changed it when I moved to my new house last June.

My acc is 50 mbps before this.
*
Call 100 to inform them. They will configure your BTU from remote or change it if the BTU is not gigabit capable.

Guarantee you nobody means it when they say want standardised pricing. What many people here actually want is better deal compared to others. The attitude is, I want this package cheaper than what anyone else can get. Other people is stupid pay RM329 for same package I'm paying RM189 for.

If TM really standardised pricing, these people will then complain loudly why TM so unfair, reduce their discount.
*
They can do it by migrating users to the packages according to the closest value they pay. Time and Maxis already has standard pricing and they are still alive til now.

Yes, you can do that. I did it last month at Quill City. Changed from Ultimate to Ruby.
If your Unifi TV still under contract, you can choose to pay the penalty or renew the contract for 1 year.
You will be charge RM10 processing fees.
*
How's the crowd at Quill City TMPoint during weekend? May want to pay them a visit for one of my unifi acc in KL.

Agree with you. Not much people seems to demand proper pricing structure. It's all about who can get cheapest.

I don't need crazy fast WiFi speed. I suppose I am a dinasour love using lan cables. Any ideas ?
*
Then just use the TM provided router, be it C1200 or the D-link Dir-850L. Both are capable to run sufficiently on wired connection.

Just bring your IC. They will get your thumbprint for the process.

I juz got an appointment to install the rm129 unifi 100Mbps.

Juz wanna ask, is there any payment that I need to make to the technician when they come to my house? I know that if the cable exceed certain length need to pay...other than that...is there any payment in cash?

Secondly the new rm129 package doesnt come with Set-Top-Box right?
*
1. Payment if the cable exceed 15 meter enterring your premise, and if you request for non standard installation e.g cable going through ceiling etc.
2. Yes, this package no STB.

So no need to pay anything unless you deal with the technician to customise the installation.

QUOTE(MrSpeedy @ Oct 18 2018, 12:08 PM)
It's TM fault.
Why we need to renew contract to enjoy high speed low price?

Just be like TIME. All customers eligible to get upgrade with readjusted to the lower price automatically. No renew contract, customer needed to begging like a dog to TM bullsh*t.
*
Totally agree. Everytime new cheaper package comes out, renew contract. That is the only thing TM knows. Existing subscribers are left in the dark unless they visit TMPoint, and must renew contract or stay at old expensive package with slower speed.

Time way of adjusting customer to new package really put TM to shame.
QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ Oct 18 2018, 12:30 PM)
Tm doesn't require to renew a contract when my brother downgraded his RM219 100mbps to the RM129 100mbps.

From the article, he refuse to renew the contract, and im pretty sure his hardware doesn't even support the new speed upgrade. TM usually ask you to renew contract if there is equipment upgrade. why don't he just renew the contract to get new hardware and cheaper price, rather than continuously paying RM199 for slow speed.
*
Still TM could have explain and give option to renew contract or buy the router from them, since the BTU is their property and they can replace it at no cost. Uncle probably do not know all this tech stuff, and the customer service need not necessarily put him into the dilema of contract and recontract.
Otherwise, just do what Maxis recently did, which is to swap old router with new dual band router for their customers. TM sure have the list of who are still using old equipment.

Are you on VDSL to be getting that offer? Otherwise with RM10 more you get 100mbps. Others even get 50mbps at RM99.

the lady allows me to switch to the RM129 package with 50Mbps speed. It is written like that too on the Customer Slip.

Offer 50mpbs RM129 "Renew Contract 2years"

You should demand RM99 for 50mbps. Remember that someone in this forum got RM99 50mbps. RM129 is the standard for 100mbps now.

Find if there's a sticker shown at the bottom of the router. They usually call wifi password as key, usually all digits.

Alternatively, u can skip all the hassle by using wps setup, by pressing the small button behind. This method does not require login credentials. No pw needed.
*
Thank you. Didn't notice there's WPS button. laugh.gif

QUOTE(cannavaro @ Oct 20 2018, 12:58 PM)
thanks for the heads up, already edited and thanks for removing your post with the old pic with the account number as well  laugh.gif that is my FIL's account btw
Update on my more than a month long MCMC/CFM report:
As promised by the TM rep who called me, the price for my 3 accounts are now reduced. Prices below include playtv but not including taxes.

Previously:
Account 1 RM309
Account 2 RM249
Account 3 RM249 (Upgraded to 800Mbps some time in September)

Now:
Account 1 RM229
Account 2 RM229
Account 3 RM229

For account 3 however, after TM adjusted the price; on my unifi portal it is shown 'promo discount perpetual RM110' and 'unifi special discount RM20'. I have to wait for the next bill to know whether this discount is just cosmetic like previously or otherwise. When this particular account got the turbo upgrade, the discount shown increased from RM80 to RM100 but the final bill comes to exactly the same amount (ex. tax) as pre-turbo because the base price for internet somehow increased.

The rep also said the remaining 2 accounts will get turbo within this week. If it's not done by Monday I'm gonna pester them again sweat.gif . I was also told that for reports like mine (request for lower price) they look at it on a case by case basis. Mine was not so straightforward because each account has a different  number, long time ago it's just 1 account number for 3 accounts but I asked TM to split them.

Despite having 'leverage' in the form of 3 accounts out of contract and being a long term customer (unifi since 2010, was also on streamyx previously), complete unifi bill belonging to my FIL, partial bills of other customers showing discounts and all, it took a lot of effort to get this simple price reduction via the MCMC report  sweat.gif
Oh and I also submitted termination notice for all 3.

I didn't even try asking for RM189 + ultimate pack (100Mbps/800Mbps) because IIRC long ago a few others (who're on RM3xx for 100Mbps originally) have tried but failed. IIRC only 1 guy managed to get it by visiting a certain TM Point, thanks to the manager there.
I went to Menara TM to ask for RM229 price (this was before 100Mbps@RM129 was announced) and the staff said she will have to refer to her superior. Got a call the next day saying my request was rejected, no reason given but was offered RM199 for 50Mbps, LOL.
*
So how now? continue to terminate or stay on.

QUOTE(RitzyHoke @ Oct 20 2018, 01:02 PM)
Hey all, I have a few questions. Currently my dad is paying RM150+ for 10Mbps plan, which I presume I should be eligible for an upgrade based on the replies here. However, I thought I might change it to my name since I can get tax relief and all that. Besides, the plan is cheaper. Or will my current plan price be adjusted accordingly?

Should I just sign on a new contract then ditch the old one? And get new routers and all that? Or is there any pros of maintaining my existing one and waiting for them to upgrade it then switch it to my name?

Btw, when did the automatic upgrades for older plans start? Not very caught up with all the news on this, sorry.

Thanks in advance for the help!
*
RM150+ for 10mbps is expensive. If you do not have any plan to switch to other ISP or moving house within 2 years, can consider to change it to the RM129 100mbps. Name change is not a problem, can be done anytime as long you and your dad go together to change.

Went to TM, they said my place maximum is 30mbps and offered to lower the price from RM139 to RM119 for current 30mbps. Seen a few flyers offer 100mbps at my place (not yet call to ask & confirm if there is really 100mbps service here) and there is TIME service too here.

Is TM play play here to not offer me turbo or at least RM129 for 100mbps ?
*
Go and subscribe Time. RM99 for 100mbps symmetrical speed.

Gonna stay of course since I got what I wanted, unless TIME comes here  laugh.gif
Original plan was to keep the single 800Mbps account and the other 2 switch to Maxis. Based on what I have read in LYN and social media.. they are worse than TM  sweat.gif

I actually would have registered earlier if it wasn't for my bad experience with them in registering Maxis Biz fibre. They practically ignored the application and did not reply my follow up email despite saying the process to do a 'business feasibility study' on my company will take 3 working days. One of the documents required to apply for Maxis Biz is the company's 3-month bank statement. Last time when registering for Unifi TM didn't ask for that. blink.gif
Eventually received an email from TM saying Unifi Biz will get the turbo upgrade as well but no dates given.
*
Lol. I first time hear that registerring for business broadband need bank statement. But they are using the same infra though, except that certain technical task still need to push to TM which make up delays.

QUOTE(watchingUeveryDAY @ Oct 22 2018, 12:54 PM)
Wondering if Maxis Fibrenation that bad until most of the Unifi users here, despite having so many pricing issues, turbo issues, still opted for new RM129 plan instead of going to Maxis Fibrenation (since Maxis Fibrenation uses the same infra so long as Unifi is there).

New sign up will get every damn device in new form, re-contract 24-mth gets nothing. I don't get the logic why staying with Unifi RM129~100Mbbps plan lor, sumore going thru the hassle of "surrendering" ourselves to TM Point for the new plan.... swithc to Maxis Fibrenation also gets new devices.

[not advertisement, dont whack me]
*
I might give them a try after my contract end in 2020. Let's see what both ISP has to offer. I also heard some Maxis users saying that the performance for both is actually the same.

Haha, mostly the seller already bring in the item to Malaysia and sold it, just like you buy imported phone set. Actually what are the difference between Asus modem from China and local set, I mean apart from the taxes that make it so expensive? Any dif in terms of firmware?

hi,
I just receive my first bill after convert to Unifi basic 30mbps from RM139.
Based on the bill, TM continue to maintain the Unifi TV Ruby package which have RM30 monthly fee and Internet reduce to rm49 per month, so net net tm still charge RM79.
*
Interesting. I thought ruby pack will not be provided and only can watch basic channels.
