We are now piloting the turbo upgrades to selected existing unifi customers to the new high speeds of 100 Mbps, 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps and 800 Mbps. This is to allow us time to enhance the process before the mass roll-out. We will keep you updated once this pilot phase is completed and when we are ready to roll out to our existing customers nationwide.

However, by changing the plan to unifi 100Mbps RM129.00, you will not be able to enjoy Turbo upgrade in 2018/2019. Kindly inform the service contract will be renewal again for 2 years.

if in pilot and testing phase, how can they straight launch and give new customer that package. still waiting here for my unifi lite turbo. really no logic at all. been paying RM129 for 10Mbps and new customer paying RM129 for 100Mbps.

It makes me wonder if MacOS make use of microcode ibrs, ibpb and stipp or just Retpoline re-compilation solution. 
After all, Retpoline method has negligible impact compared to microcode register solution. It is also possible for the kernel only make use of one out of the three microcode register which lessen the penalty.
I read linux operating system such as Ubuntu and Redhat use retpoline solution except when Skylake CPU is detected as repotline method doesn't work for that CPU generation.
Example, from RedHat documentation:
IBRS has the worst performance penalty. That is why repotline is used as default for pre-skylake cpu if microcode MSRs is detected.
On the other hand, I noticed IBRS performance penalty seem to be higher for older microcode version compared to latest microcode.

Windows kernel for one is using all three microcode registers ibrs, ibpb and stipp instead of retpoline. One needs to manually enable SSBD for windows.

Perhaps it is the reason on why performance penalty on MacOS is less than Windows?

Just called up Unifi cust service line and asked them to make a report for expediting turbo process otherwise I will terminate my service which is out of contract anyway. Immediately the cust rep asked me to wait on the line while she speaks to her supervisor and when she came back on the line, she said she will raise the report for turbo upgrade and someone will call me back to confirm the upgrade.

We'll see how for the next few days. hehe

Currently subscribed to Advance Pro 100mbps RM299 (RM316 after SST). Out of contract, Bandar Metro Puchong area.

True that, especially if you're not willing to fork out a lot of money for a router that is capable of supporting the 800Mbps over WiFi. We're talking about:

- Router or Routers for big house
- WiFi receiver card (for desktop and laptop)
- Genuine cables
- Device upgrade for those that can't change component

strongly recommend Ubiquiti network's wifi access points.

you mean desktop or laptop ? 

i dont really recommend USB wifi adapter. 

if possible:
  desktop =  use pcie wifi or BEST  pull lan cable.
  laptop =  change the wifi card to AC type.  eg: intel 7260 wifi ac card

then  i think pcie wifi card is better than usb adapter .  coz usb  sometimes will give you inconsistency in connectivity.

Update on my issue, after 3 days downgraded my package yet package still the same. Decide to go tmpoint again to ask. After further checking, found out that my building actually has 2 infra, copper and ftth because my building has been upgraded to full fiber. But my unifi cant be upgraded because it still on copper, so they need to relocate my unifi to fiber than downgrade to 100mb. They will send technician next week to relocate my unifi, and another techinian to check on my modem. At last something is happening.

don't think so. as long as in your bill, the residential voice is RM0 then no way to remove, even if remove also no changes to pricing.
