Edit:

Unifi best 100 Mbps comes with 600 minutes free talk time to landline / mobile. thereafter it's 10sen a minute but free to TM landlines.
Something to consider if you do make calls.

Did she show you the actual email stating you will be upgraded soon?
Why didn't you follow through on the downgrade though?

~.~ You are lucky cause your Core-i7 6700 has high cpu clock, so performance penalty with older microcode isn't bad enough to bottleneck your LAN transfer.
At least Microsoft released up-to-date microcode for skylake, kabylake and coffee lake generations although it hasn't been pushed to users yet.

AMD is slow anyway, plus I'm not a power user and the speed penalty isn't costing me any money so just bear with it.

I get what you mean.
Hardly ever download nowadays with Netflix subs.
No LAN link and only on 802.11N. so you can tell my level of tolerance for low speed with the Advance plus 50 Mbps.
My phone and iPad both are on 5ghz 802.11AC so getting the full speed.
Probably will go faster when I'm finally turbo-ed. No sign of that yet, just keeping TM CS get warm by poking them hot coals regularly.

I suggest you look at your current Streamyx usage and if your usage is not going to change much from it, then you can figure out what is suitable for you.

First post , green text. Read it again. Especially the part about real world WiFi speeds. And also, it helps to know actually how fast your devices are in real world WiFi performance.

802.11n is slow when compared to 5 GHz 802.11ac.
