QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 29 2023, 07:19 PM) doubt it is due to interferrence. my left/right/front neighbours all empty. for any wifi or wireless (including 4g/5g) do not trust the theorical speedeven with interference, the speed probably is just inconsistent. but i am getting consitent speed so it should be due to the limit of the adapter. there will be tons of overhead for wireless. wifi 4 (802.11n) is notorious for too much overhead and also more suspicious to interference. 150mbps adapter is most likely 1x1 antenna which will worsen the reception. 150mbps 1x1 antenna at 40mhz. usually to avoid interference most routers default to 20mhz which will half the speed to 72mbps. irl speed at 40mbps is normal due to overhead |

QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 28 2023, 05:41 PM) avoid this model especially dual core onethis model notorious for overheating QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 29 2023, 05:56 PM) any idea which wireless adapter (wifi 6) is cheap, reliable and good to buy? tp link t20u plus is goodcurrently using this lousy tp-link TL-WN727N 150Mbps Wireless N USB Adapter https://www.tp-link.com/my/home-networking/...pter/tl-wn727n/ the speed is god damn slow. claimed to be up to 150Mbps. i can only attain about below 40Mbps of speed all the time for both download and upload. i suspect it is due to the limitation of the USB 2.0 interface? but by rite USB 2.0 should support 480Mbps of speed. i seriously do not know why i can only get 40Mbps??? checked through all forums online, tried different drivers etc. also the same. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 29 2023, 08:40 PM) for adapter, wifi 6, do they have tri-band or is there a need for tri band? as i know that for mesh wifi router, tri-band will help to get full speed as it has one extra 5GHz band for communication between the mesh router. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 29 2023, 08:51 PM) icic. thanks for the explanation. okay lah ac1300 is also good enough. but this design no high gain antenna. if go for tplink t4u got high gain antennawill this adapter below be able to archieve good speed since it is AC1200 and priced at only rm65 while TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus is rm165 which is quite steep in price. i am using it on a old PC so i may not want to spend so much on a new adapter for it. somemore my current wifi environment is only at wifi 5. https://www.lazada.com.my//products/i262374...qV&urlFlag=true if using a wifi 6 adapter in a wifi 5 network, will it help in speed in real life comparing to wifi 5 adapter although i know that the speed will be limited to wifi 5. however, will it still help in anyway? not at all significant, still same, maybe slightly better reception |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Aug 11 2023, 08:04 PM) Because im mostly the only one in this house and 300mbps is a bit overkill honestly. Considered taking 300 before but honestly 100 is more than enough for my usage No really. The stock dlink isn't even a dlink at all. It's rebrand of netisAlso dont think im qualified for SWU 3.0. New sign up for me And correct me if im wrong, the speed doesnt matter if the network equipment setup is the issue. Although i know 300mbps package comes with mesh setup But its not Wifi 6, isnt it a downgrade compared to the stock router? DIR2150 is 4x4 antenna, so better range compared to stock low cost 2x2 solution |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Aug 11 2023, 08:53 PM) Thanks. I just googled about Netis a bit. I dont think my stock router is Netis? Looks more like rebrand of original D Link AX3000... unless you are saying this is also from Netis? This is open market version of unifi stock x3060z. Both are netis rebrand, using ZTE (ZXIC) processor and MTK wireless solutionhttps://www.dlink.com.my/product/ax3000-mes...ireless-router/ ZeneticX liked this post

For 500mbps, which tp link mesh system can replace deco m4 x2?
1. 2x archer AX55 2. 2x Deco X50 (because this model rare for 3 ports) 3. 2x Deco X68 4. 2x Deco XE75 I just want basic 500mbps in main deco unit only and anything about second node I don't care much anyway |

QUOTE(Chiggah @ Oct 19 2023, 03:04 PM) House type: Bungalow If you like tp link as a whole, can get a lot choice there. Best choice would be either ax72 or ax73. Although slightly cheaper ax53 or ax55 will also sufficeSize of house: 2500sqf, 1 floor Features required: Antivirus? QoS? Bandwidth Limiter? VPN? None Number of devices connected to WiFi: 6 but not all devices are connected to use bandwidth at same time Internet Speed: 300mbps Budget: Can range from RM200-RM1000 . Looking for best bang for buck Just me and wife using at the moment. I am WFH + use ethernet for desktop games. Wife is a light user. Currently using TP Link Archer C1200. But if you value long term software support, get asus. Like ax57, TUF ax4200, TUF ax6000 etc Edit: replaced tuf 5400 with 6000 since now realised tuf6000 is newer and superior against 5400 This post has been edited by MyProLife: Oct 20 2023, 08:12 PM |

QUOTE(Milo_O @ Oct 19 2023, 03:43 PM) House type: Landed two storey house Try tri band models like deco x68 or xe75Size of house: 2 floors / 1600sq.ft Number of devices connected to WiFi: Around 50 devices connected Internet Speed:Currently 300 Mbps (will be upgrade to 500 Mbps soon) Existing equipment : Deco M4 (2 packs) connected wireless (master at 1st floor while slave at 2nd floor) Restrictions / Freatures : 1. Coverage is a must. The coverage at 2nd floor's room is bad. After using M4, coverage is good, however lack in speed ~50 Mbps) 2. Not possible to connect mesh with LAN due to house structure arrangement 3. I do not mind to get router instead of mesh if router are able to have good coverage on the entire house Pls suggest and thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(hasifhanif @ Oct 20 2023, 06:44 PM) Hi. 3004.388.4 (21-Aug-2023)Is anyone using ASUS AX56u or D-Link Dir 1860Z and managed to hit 500mbps on WiFi? Just got upgraded from 300 to 500. Managed to get 500mbps wired, but only 200-300mbps on WiFi. Already reset, use Merlin, try all channels, 80mhz, only wifi 5, only wifi 6, change ssid, change password, still the same. Using 14 pro max and late 2016 MacBook Pro. Should I call tm or just accept my reality? - NOTE: In preparation for the new 3.0.0.6 codebase, the version string will now start with 3004 or 3006 to match with upstream. - NOTE: The RT-AX56U is no longer supported, as Asus has put it on End-of-Life status, and the previous Asuswrt-Merlin 388 releases for that model were all based on untested code. Oof assus not up to task this time for router support. Ax56u is already discontinued support. I thought can support many years kan lol hasifhanif liked this post

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Oct 21 2023, 12:29 AM) with the frequent complaint about other mesh systems - stability, expandability, ... - Deco is actually very solid eventhough lacking advanced customisations. Really meants for plug-and-play no-fuss consumers. maybe you are considering asus ai mesh? but zenwifi i feel like its anak tiri (stepchild) lineup from asus in terms of software support anyway compared with normal RT / GT / TUF router series. maybe better to use 2 or 3 of such normal router instead as ai mesh is still much more flexible to setup and more configurations open for userBut I'm phasing them out anyway. I lost trust over the half-baked half-gigabit speed of M9 Plus. And I want greater/advanced control over wifi options, which Deco retained to much control under the hood. I don't have replacement candidate though. Both premises are using the mesh routers provided by ISP, either standalone (Unifi) or mesh (Maxis). |

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Oct 21 2023, 09:25 AM) i only decided to phase out deco m9 plus, but haven't even think of what to replace it with. I also quite dissatisfied with my home deco m4 system since i got in 2020 11.11 sales. Not only deco got a lot of settings forced like one ssid smart connect settings/wifi channel/bandwidth without able to manually adjustable , but sometimes software can also bugged out in certain firmware update cause speed to become too slow for surf some sites like shopee etc. Although tp link software support is still decent in fixing the bugs with hotfixes (they call beta firmware as interim hotfixes)not only i found its ethernet lacking, i now remember that when i deploy smartlife devices around the house, even with 4 nodes deco m9 plus, the automation devices keep going offline after some time and never return. penat nak reset deco mesh, then off electric MCB from section to section just to get them to come back online. i have no issue after i switch them to use the maxis' huawei mesh nodes. Deco m4 is good for 100mbps in fully wireless backhaul. 300mbps is only attainable for whole home with wired backhaul The problem prevents me from going asus ai mesh is obviously cost. Around 2-3 times more expensive compared to similar class equivalent from other brands due to assus tax here by official distributor |

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Oct 21 2023, 09:56 AM) from reading complaints about aimesh in here, it gives impression that • cobbling different models together at start is error prone and need patience, and • continued use after initial set up is unstable. That's why tp link is promoting deco lineup with "REAL MESH" in the product listing/ads. The so called "AI driven" mesh protocol is still much more mature than any other mesh protocol including aimesh/easymesh/whatever with fast roaming as a bonus. Other normal mesh just k/v, deco mesh comes with extra of k/v/r protocol (r means fast roaming of course)So that's why my next upgrade will be still from tp link deco lineup. I am now eying for at least X50 model in the next payday/11.11 promo because X50 seems like the sweet spots for me (and may consider combine with X68 because of dedicated wireless backhaul depending on budget at that sales time) |

QUOTE(puawk1 @ Nov 6 2023, 11:11 AM) How about Asus router selling by Taobao? Same limitations applies for CDM Asus routers. Newer CDM Asus routers may have no effect even change region to somewhere like AustraliaI bought the RT-AC86U 3 years ago and it is still working fine. I am thinking of getting the TUF AX5400 from Taobao or Tiamao. |
