Yeah, that stainless steel sides is the reason I picked Space Grey over Silver, coz it looked better and more subtle than the shiny chrome sides of the Silver

I had a Gold 8 Plus and it wasn’t that nice, looked bit more like peach for me. Maybe need to see the Gold Xs first, like you said, maybe it’s more golden!

Coz I change phone minimum once a year, and having multiple devices.. As for geek its just the joy of unboxing and exploring new gadgets.. certainly possible, my iphone 6+ is already 4 years old and it is still quite smooth. certainly can use for another 2 years easily.

given the price of flagship iphone nowadays, i think not all will really change it every year unless one is on the some kind of annual upgrade programme unless you are talking about non-flagship android phones. however, it is certainly totally different experience. once you are in apple eco system, it will be hard to go to non-iOS devices.

for me i changes my phone every two years due to my telco contracts are two year. with the heavily subsidy, it is still ok. then the old phone will become my second phone that can use for another 2 to 3 years.

I prefer to put it this way. As the phone is getting morre expensive, so is their resale value. Especially, it's THE iphone.
So I bought the X last year around 4+k. Now it is still commanding 3k+ in the 2nd hand market.
So like you say, you only use the phone for 2 years max, you will lose maybe 1-2k plus when you sell it off later.
Same as Android also, where a galaxy S would depreciate from 3k to 1.x k after 1 year+

In that sense, we are just forking out more in the initial stage. The depreciation values are roughly the same.
