I wouldn't say 256gb is overkill. It's a lot but definitely not overkill if you take a lot of 4k/high fps videos.

My iPhone6 64gb.  8.4k photos 800 videos still got space .

based on 4 years trend, our pricing have been following singapore pricing. Compared to before, we are much2 cheaper than our neighbour. Thus i would expect the price would be almost similar to the current pricing of IpX.
moral of the stories Ive learned from my previous IpX is not to get the phone during launch.And we get our Malaysian launch quite fast. The iphone x still got stocks even after 2 weeks of launch in singapore, and the stocks available in Malaysia after that. And the best thing was lazada having massive discount with iphone x. GG

To be fair, the stated prices are almost direct conversion from SGD RRP. For example, the IP XS Max 256GB is SGD $2049 = Rm6190.38

my cost for an iphone x at launch in singapore was

RM5.4k +RM 300 lost for fake Courts Advertisement (refund lost due to currency devaluation) + Park at orchard road RM20 + Mcdonalds meals for three RM50 + toll and ERP ~ RM70 and at that time currency was S$1 = RM3.1, his pricing for 3.2 was reasonable I would say.

And not to forget the experienced I had during the purchased with 100% check over my car at the border, and i was detained for 30 minutes and need to give urine at the narcotics unit for giving the real reason on why i went to Singapore and I said, i came here just to buy an iPhone which was not satisfied by a young rookie narcotic officer.

Thank god, i was not inside the lockup.
