wahh...saturday appointment hor...Dr changed to thicker wire for upper teeth  and put that yellow rubberband thingy on 4 teeth on the upper teeth and 8 teeth at the lower teeth. pain pain ohhhhhhhh.....and put that freaking bite stop...wei...forever one la mine...y Dr never take it off...so kelian...cannot eat!!!...

sure they are selling ortho head? regular heads are easy to find but not for ortho. but i'll look around anyways.

If they dont,then i think ill go to Dr. How's,ive been reading alot of good stuff about him,that kinda tempted me to switch orthos.

If anyone is under pristine,can u please comment on this?

I'm new here. I've been reading this thread for few weeks already when i finally decided to 'brace' my teeth. So i was looking around for info and a good Dr to fix my ugly teeth. Then i saw that Kenctp has been very hard sell abt Dr How. So i called the clinic in Bangsar today to enquire the treatment fee. The operator told me, "Normally for Damon 3 is RM5800 and traditional metal braces will be RM4200 - RM4500. Consultation fee is RM80"

What?  How come like that keh? Price went up edy mer? Sigh... Anyway, without thinking much, i've set an appt to go for the consultation this Saturday.

haha...studies have been sooo busy,i didnt have the time to post-up the huge decision announcement.
I finally emBRACEd myself..haha i got them on 18th of Sept 08.Dr.Hows...i am on Clippy-C/In-Ovation C brackets braces.So far so good..Total cost is RM6,500.

it has been a week since i had my braces on..

Sorry for the late reply, Ronnie. Finally i've got it done. Today is the third day . I hardly feel any pain. Unless i clench. Then, i didnt take pain killer that doctor gave also. But i feel tired for my gums tho... because of the pressure, i guess. Oh, by the way, doctor had me braced on the upper jaw only. Later only will fix the lower jaw.

On that same day, for dinner i had HK Chee Cheong Fun and instant noodles.  Second day, instant noodles, mihun soup and also swallowed 2 slices of peanut butter sandwich. Then today bread dipped in milo and noodle soup. I find it easier to eat noodles compared with rice. And i'm lazy cos i dont want food to stuck in my braces... Hahaha...

Oh... something happened this morning when i try to stick the dental wax on the bracket on my last tooth. So i have to open my mouth big... When it's done, i found my lip were caught in one of the metal wire hook (or whatever it is). Ouch...  then the metal scraped a tiny bit of the flesh. I think it will turn out to be an ulcer there... Besides that, no ulcer yet.

Overall still ok. But i really really hate the wire that is sticking out from my last tooth and its poking my cheeks. That's painful. Thank god for the dental wax. Alrighty, i think thats all for now. Will try to post pictures later.

I had my upper part fixed last month and now waiting for the lower part which is going to be on this coming 17th. I met Dr. How twice already and he took pictures after fixing my teeth. Is he going to take pictures on every appointment? If so, will he print the pictures out and let us keep them? I remember last time the receptionist said she forgot to print the pictures of my 1st visit. She'll give the pictures later on my next visit.

Another thing, how come I don't have dental wax? It's not in the package 
I paid ~RM80 for the package which includes:
1 x Ortho brush
2 x Pearl Drops toothpaste
1 x Oral B mouth rinse
5 x Futuristic brush-like toothpicks
1 x Medicine for ulcer

Or I need to buy it separately?

it's my 9th month wearing braces.i did it at the Lim Dental clinic at jalan pudu. RM3800 for the metal braces. RM1000 deposit n have to pay RM200 each month. i love the doc. she is dr Yeeny Huang.

after reading everything...i decide to make braces too... currently i'm in australia...will going to to KL on dec...after tat i'm going to visit dr how too...at 1st i have no idea where to make braces...with good & professional...  hopefully i can make it...hahaha...i hope i can bagging to price...as i'm a student n need pay by myself... ><"

yes, just beside the old cinema. my teeth are straight after 2 months. now wearing the string to pull the 4 overbite teeth. will upload pic when i m free.

i went for my first appointment last thursday...so its been a week now..1 Month and 1 Week in Braces!
heres the good part..I SEE MOVEMENT!! MUhahahahha god i love my braces now.
And during the appoinment,i didnt get my wire changed,but instead.i got powerchains!!
Dr said that he wanted to focus on pushing my potruding teeth inwards nowand my next appoinment is next month.huhuhuh.

i only got powerchains on my uppers tho,the bottoms are untouched.
And and just two days after getting them,i accidently ate Nasi Lemak (it was freakin irresistable T.T) . The next thing i know,my powerchains stained.but its subtle.i kina regret having what i had.I Tried brushing almost 3 times but its still there.SIGH..

but it wasnt that obvious tho..huhuh...
before the appoinment,i got like a ulcer-massacre in my mouth.i guess its cuz the teeth moved.

I had mine for 3 weeks now. Didnt see any movement yet tho. I looked at myself everyday in the mirror in hoping that i will see miracle. :'----(
I think my gums are too old and stubborn that its not willing to let my teeth move.

Cant wait till my appointment early next month. I think the glue that were used to hold the brackets were stained...So its a bit yellowish now... Dunno how to get rid of it...

*Shame* I dont brush everyday after meal. Cos i dun want to mafan and bring toothbrush to work. But I brush twice a day like everyone else. Especially after dinner at night.

I gues the yellowish stain are caused by the things i eat. Often eat food with dark soya sauce. And i have to drink tea everyday. But now that i notice the color of the glue, i will gargle everytime after tea and food. And i brush my teeth longer now to pay more attention on my front teeth. I heard that baking soda can help to reduce the stain. Dunno whether is it true or not. Let me try and i let you guys know...especially Ronnie. Always ter-eat something with bad coloring.

Nope my teeth or not loose yet. Its not jelly-soft moving like some of you described. Like i said, maybe its stubborn. But i do get a spongy feeling when i clench my teeth. As if the teeth had sunken into the gum. I also realised that either my gums had grow bigger or my teeth had sunken. Cos my teeth had become smaller. Especially those at the back.

Then, i dunno whether is just me or maybe some of you encounter the same problem as mine. What happen was... my gum will bleed very often. Not sure whether it's normal. Especially when i wakes up every morning. When i spit out my saliva, its bloody. Sorry if i gross you out. But i just need to know... Am afraid that my gum are too weak if none of you all face the same problem.

It's about one week away till my next appt. Hope will see results. Ronnie, Why is your appt so near? i mean.... i waited so long until my first adjustment but yours are like...so fast...

Do u take leave to go for appointment? I actually prefer Saturday.  I mean, i fixed it on saturday so if 4 weeks later i will go for the following saturday, which is this saturday. This time, i will ask doc to cut my wire shorter. U know? i havent live a day without the dental wax. The wire is really sharp. 2 days ago when i was trying to stick the dental wax on, i use my fingers to feel it...the sharp part. It poke my finger and it bled. 

Dont worry, like i said, i had dental wax on everyday to prevent poking. B4 i had dental wax on, it poke my cheeks and i had ulcer. After i put on dental wax... i dont get poking anymore. Just ensure that ur doctor cut the wire as short as possible. I'm going for my 1st adjustment this saturday and i will ask doctor to cut it as short as possible. Then i will let you know the differences...

Trust me, its not that bad. If i can, you can take it too. Think of it this way, you are doing all this for your beautiful smile in the future.    My relatives and family were glad that i finally get my braced installed. Even my grandma says    good! Cos i have really ugly teeth. Tho my bf never criticize abt my ugly teeth but when i said i wanted braces, he supported me too.

I cant wait to see movements and can wait to show off my teeth.
