oh icic, tq green_apple  biggrin.gif
kentcp, you're currently using normal braces or damon 3? u know quotation for damon 3 in How's Orthodontics?

so far i think cheapest that been recommended by forumers here is the one in kepong, RM4500+ for damon 3
*
Ya.. i am using Damon 3, cost me around RM5600+

The best way is, the visit few of Orthodontics and compare the prices. As the prices quote is base on your teeth situation and the package included.

I am confident with Dr. How because he is very knowledgable, still attending seminar to gain new knowledge (sometime he will off for few day to attend seminar or courses), been using damon 2 long time ago. Go to visit his clinic, you will see a lot certificate, testimonial, etc. So, i feel that he is not type of "business man" but is a pro on Orthodontics.

No doubt, with his pro..the prices a bit pro too wink.gif haha..

I just want to make sure my teeth is done by someone really skillful to have better result (since been paid in few k)

Just my 2 cent of comment..

*
Operate ? not really la.. just normal extraction lo.. You may try on Damon system for luck? Check with Dr., if you want using Damon 3, still require to extract 4 teeth or not..

Addition note on my previous post, Dr. How also gives lecture... smile.gif

Anyone of you tried that before?
*
Yup, greenapple is correct wink.gif I am having 4 screws !!!

According to Dr, the screw will help to align the teeth. I had installed the screw for a month plus.. no more feeling anymore. The screw just like part of my body now. Last 2 days, i went for monthy visit, Dr. start place rubber to pull my teeth with the screw. Now my teeth a bit in tension and pain. This kind of pain, i use to it la.. No pain no gain ma.. wink.gif

Viviensiu, where did u do the braces? what u would like to know on the screw ?

kentcp...what is this damon 3? would u mind explain?
*
The old tradition system is 100% extract teeth and normally is 4 teethes. With new system like Damon 3, you may not need to extract teeth. Still you require to consult by Damon certified orthodontics, to see your condition.

"Damon passive self-ligating brackets allow freedom of movement and thus faster results with gentler forces(less painful)."
vs
"Elastic ligatures (Traditional) create friction and binding and require more force (painful) and more-frequent adjustments."

2nd visit payment is RM750 plus misc (auto/manual tooth bush, toothpaste, etc – depend on what you buy; suggest u buy at Mid valley, watson or guardian for toothbrush more cheaper - RM7.50/pcs only)
• RM 750 deposit
• RM ??? –misc cost
• They will install braces on this visit and ask you to sign contract agreement.

3rd visit onwards is installment plan..

hi, someone please help me with this.
I am to go for an international flight next week.
My concern is whether my braces in my mouth will alert the alarm system during the checking in .
You know, the one where we have to put our bags in the belt scanning system, then we have to go through the scanning door.
Will the metals from my braces makes the alarm sound?
sad.gif sad.gif
Someone who has gone for flights when they are wearing braces please help me with this !! or google ? I dont know what to type in the google search >.<
*
Hi rainbow84,

I just went to Penang on last 2 weeks by flight. Yes, when i pass through the scanner door, the alarm is trigger. I am not sure if it is due to my brace. However, no need to worry. Just let the security to check your body by raise up your hand to 90 degree. They will using hand to rub you hand, body and leg to make sure no weapon tight on your body.

By the way, you are lady, choose the door stand with female security. Anyhow, when the alarm is trigger, if they see you are lady, the guy security should ask female security to check your body. They (guy) don't dare to touch you. You also should let them (guy) to touch/check your body. So, you have no worry ya smile.gif

Enjoy your trip on next week smile.gif

QUOTE(gracechew @ Aug 11 2008, 01:31 PM)
hihi..
May I ask, is there any other way besides than doing braces to fix ur teeth??
At first, when i was around form 1 or 2..my teeth was nice..Then when the wisdom tooth started to grow..I think not enough space..My lower jaw, those teeth moved in and out!!! Everyday wake up, shocked of my life cuz my tooth will move slowly slowly until not nice liao..haihz... cry.gif
I'm now 20 years old, if I do braces now..seems scary doing braces cuz will need a few years..
Then if i do it now..these few years I'll have to face many people..college...plus the pain...
And I love to eat!!! I can't imagine if i have to painfully enjoy my food..
You know..those reality US tv show..example like America's Next Top Model..
They sent those girls to fix their teeth..within a few days..their teeth look perfect..(so jealous)
I don't think they have it here in Malaysia?
*
Are you sure just a few day able to fix it well ?? Sound like impossible and should be extremely pain! hmm.gif if using hard force to make it fix in few day, i think the person will pain till rather to kill himself..and can't bite anything for a month time ..

if you wearing braces before, then you will get what i mean..

People like us who wearing braces, the teeth movement is just a bit by a bit from day to day..that already caused us can bite any hard food (eg. meat) sweat.gif

So, to fix it in very short time, what i can think off is extract all teeth and inplant it..should able to fix in a month? laugh.gif

20 year is old meh ? tongue.gif ( i am even old la.. but don't ask my age tongue.gif) Nowaday, people is accepting braces compare to last time. No one will say anything on your braces, as one day your teeth will straight than them. If you want fast (9 month ~ ~24 month depend on your teeth condition) then look for Self-Ligating braces (eg. Damon 3 system). It's expensive than tranditional braces but it's less pain and treament time is shorter.

Think of it smile.gif I am using Damon system, just around 5 months, my upper teeth already straight.. now is fine tune and closing gap. Oya, also waiting lower teeth to straight, as it just fix the brace on 3 months ago.

No worries... a lot of people start having braces at about 20 some-things... some more it's not as ugly as u think... In fact, wearing braces is like a status like that u know... a lot of my fren say I'm rich because I wear braces...  laugh.gif

I have seen those show... they remove the teeth, than they put implant... implant cost much more $$$$ than braces loh.... some more have to drill hole in the gums....  unsure.gif
Anyhow, yesterday Doctor installed "Power Chain" on my braces. It's a rubber band that is supposed to quicken the movement of the teeth. After installing, terus feel pain ooooo..... No need to wait the next day.....  wink.gif
*
Oh.! that's called "Power Chain" ah ? i also have on upper teeth..across about 5 teeths.. then another vertical (same type of rubber band) to pull my upper teeth to screw. can imagine ? rolleyes.gif

Then lower teeth, there is a metal string from right side of screw to center of lower teeth then to right side of screw. complicated le tongue.gif I don't think you guy need in this way la.. is just custom to my teeth situation.
