Heh finally my teeth stop hurting.

hjh87, I should think extraction is done before putting on the braces? Dr How didn't do my lower braces because he said I may need to extract 1 tooth from the lower jaw. Maybe you want to give them a call and enquire first? smile.gif

Ahh I guess he needs some time to see how your teeth is moving smile.gif
No worries, since it may allow you to extract less biggrin.gif
Good luck !

hjh87, hahaha I have been swallowing everything, from soft to hard =x
I got too bored of eating porridge everyday.
But I hope when I tighten my braces again, it will be painful.. So that I can stop eating too much ! tongue.gif

Hmm it dropped out while I was sleeping sad.gif Maybe I was dreaming of some good food ! ahhaha

QUOTE(hjh87 @ Apr 17 2010, 07:42 PM)
Haha, same here.
Woow, haha dreaming for food!!! Maybe ur sleeping posture ( head) is facing the pillow. That what I love to do haha, hope won't break my bracket.
*
Haha don't worry. I think my bracket dropping has nothing to do with eating one.
I eat on the right side only, but the left bracket dropped tongue.gif
You can try eating rice already biggrin.gif

QUOTE(karynkhoo @ Apr 17 2010, 09:48 PM)
my case is i crushed my bite stopper in sleep, not bracket biggrin.gif

my bracket drop once, 1 day after repositioning, maybe not glued properly to teeth yet, then i chew hard/chewy food.
*
Hahaha i crush the stopper and the bracket too!
Too ganas, everything falling off already sad.gif

barium if you consult Dr How, he will ask you to do an x-ray first, so he can fully understand your condition. He charges RM80 for each x-ray & it comes up to a sum of RM240 smile.gif

I've been having my braces on for 3 months now. Gosh, how time flies ! I had the blocker on initially, but due to my "rough side", I think they all have been fully broken by my chewing now. Hahah putting on the bottom braces didn't hurt as much as the top part and now I'm already eating everything ! The only terrible part is how the food always get stuck in between the brackets and I find that so uncomfortable. My tongue gets so tired from trying to push them out. But I'm happy that there's a slight difference already since all my friends said I look different & also I lost weight after bonding since I hate eating now !

Thanks for the tip people. I haven't mastered using a toothpick properly cause its so difficult to angle it to enter the small gaps without hurting myself ! I like the little brush very much too smile.gif

Congrats leng_leng that you're finally debracing ! I can't wait for that moment too. Even now, I'm always impatient to attend my next appointment. hahah

hahaha ah so that was Dr Raymond? He's quite a nice person & keeps trying to minimize my pain. And always says sorry when he knows its gonna hurt so bad. He changed some brackets and tightened my braces yesterday too.

btw peeps, you know the blue hard rubber band that he inserted between your back teeth ? what exactly is it for yea. one of mine dropped off previously but dr how said nvm. today another one came off too, tried to fix it back on but failed. I mean, he did say nevermind but of course I'm worried if it affects anything. Thanks in advance!

Hey Nikki, 2 top and 2 bottom. The top is to bring them upwards and the bottom is to bring them backwards. And I'm gonna have to extract 2 wisdom tooth on the same day, and my wisdoms hasn't exactly surfaced yet. I'm just wondering, inserting the screws, did u do all 4 at the same time & how does it hurt? What about maintenance like them getting loose or anything? Has it helped you very much? Thanks !

@tomatonz, woah you already have powerchains. I think Dr How said he will install my screws first, then powerchain. The chain, looks so complicated plus it looks like a hassle eating, brushing & also appearance wise sad.gif

tomatonz we really should ! I'm so super afraid, the thought of inserting something into my gums ! =( And yes I finally understood why you said inserting powerchain was painful. When he apply force on my teeth, it hurts madly ! Dr How can also sometimes be abit rough (rushing) since he always has so many patients.

Nikki, at least you're halfway there ! I'm still starting sad.gif Ugh the rubberbands looks pretty damn complicated !
