@`twinkles, did he put like a stopper for you ? You know, like that waxy thing in the middle. It happened to me before, when the wire had some extra length behind. I thought it was the movement of my teeth but actually the wire just moved =(

QUOTE(`twinkles @ Jan 8 2011, 02:19 PM) Mhmm if its too much of a hassle, then just wait till your next appt ! For me, it poked the side of my mouth till it was so sore for days, I had to go back ! Don't worry, people with braces can look good too ! 2 years can be quite a long wait, but time will not stop passing Added on January 10, 2011, 6:33 pmOh my God ! Just extracted one wisdom tooth that is only 1/4 showing, quite a painful one since its a minor surgery, and another tooth above my wisdom. Also, inserted one mini screw today. I hope it wouldn't hurt too bad after the anaesthetic wears off. I have 2 more tooth and 3 more minis to be inserted in 2 weeks time -.-" Bummer ! I wonder how long would it take for it to heal and remove stitches ! This post has been edited by Shenay: Jan 10 2011, 06:34 PM |

Tomatonz: Omg the screw is hurting like the side of my cheeks so badly ! I didn't know it has a head on top, like normal screws. Now I feel like I have a piercing there, like a earring blocking ! I'll get used to this right ? Omg it takes so long to heal? I'm still on liquid today ! Some chicken here, dare not eat ! When did you started your braces yeah? How come your progress is so much earlier than mine
2 screws on the upper to lessen my gummy teeth and 2 on the botton to push my bite inner This post has been edited by Shenay: Jan 11 2011, 10:37 AM |

Thanks for your reply kent. I've been feeling very down today, don't know how much more I have to go through, and there's no one to rant to because they don't know the uncomfort. But its true, the side of my mouth hurts so bad. It will be okay in a weeks time ? Besides wisdom extraction & screws, later on, what else will hurt more than this?

Hey Nikki, maybe its just my mind, when I keep thinking of how I have those stitches in my mouth and the screw is so bothering ! I have the extraction and screw on the same side, so I can't pinpoint which one is giving me the swelling. I must admit yesterday's process wasn't painful and even until the anaesthetic wore off.
However, I just dont know how to go through that again, extract 2 on my left side & insert 3 screws. Its like a tougher battle you know! And I have to do this by late feb because then my uni starts. So dilemma. I dont think I can do my next extraction in 2 weeks time Heh I'm trying hard to keep up with good oral hygiene but I'm so afraid to brush the screw & shakily I manage to attach wax to it this morning! Oh God, please tell me I'm a sissy and that I need to be more brave ! |

Woah you had like 6 tooth removed ? I'm starting to get use to the screw now, like okay it hurts but nothing scary. I hope my stitches gets healed soon ! How were your lower wisdom tooth like? Did you need to do a minor surgery there? Its lucky that you never really experienced the swelling ! And I didn't realize I shouldn't be talking too much, should rest my mouth more.

Xp3rT, haha must be that blocker ! How annoying that your upper and lower mouth couldn't touch one another right ! Somehow you'll get used to chewing like with a very small portion of your teeth (those that can touch)

QUOTE(tomatonz @ Jan 13 2011, 08:36 AM) To me the screw is not the great problem but developing HUGE ulcers because of the constant rubbing between the head of the screws and my lip lasted nearly a week!!!! I am prone to mouth ulcer. I do a lot of things to get rid of it: pray, vitamin C, vitamin B exclusive incl zinc to heal, and drink a lot of water and the chinese watermelon powder, hurt like mad cuz 2 ulcers became 1 huge ulcer on my left, and right got 3 small and 1 huge ulcer... so you can imagine how bad it is... but now, they are healed... Thank God! Owh that sounds bad ! I've been having the wax on for these couple of days so it became better Shenay, my treatment started in May 2010. How about you? Awhh i started in March 2010 ! But it looks like your treatment is faster ! hehe |

Nikki & Tomatonz, do you guys really eat normally and comfortably with the mini screws on ? For me, even until now (after 2-3weeks), I still can't really chew on my right side (where the screw is). God, I don't know whats gonna happen when I insert one more on my left side. Totally no need to eat already !

Tomatonz & Nikki : Oh no wonder you guys have no problems eating !! My screw is inserted at a 45 degree angle in between my last two back tooth. These are the tooth I use to chew meat and all. So when I start chomping, the hard meat will hit the top of the screw and I'll feel the pain !
Tomatonz : Haha it's doing good at all times except the eating part. I hardly get ulcers from it, so I do not use dental wax ^^ |

Nikki, you mean move it to the back, upper jaw or lower jaw ? I think on the lower jaw is worst, but the upper jaw, you will find some difficulties in eating too. Ugh I'm always on soft food now

Nikki, what do you mean two more !! Haven't you got them extracted before ? Yeah I think Dr How will ask you to do so too ! And maybe after that continue putting screws to make the rest of the tooth move inner a bit. Does your screw migration refers to him taking out the screw and put it another place ? He's gonna do that to me & I'm also worrying ! Gonna keep shifting 4 screws around. How many times have he shifted yours ?
