QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Oct 1 2018, 06:48 PM) Tbh, after using Oxygen since the OP3, I dont think you would need to use custom roms or kernels. Not much bloatware that needs to be removed as FW is already slick and smooth enough. This is not OP1/OP2 times anymore. Oxygen has really improved a lot and it should be one of the leading FWs on android just slightly behind vanilla android. Btw, if you still wanna mod your phone, you can ask King of Root seng89. He has customer kernels for his OP6. Personally, as far as ROMs are considered, I kinda agree. Hence why I'm actually running OOS 5.1.11 as base, and it hasn't yet felt lacking in any shape or form TBH.Kernels, however, isn't as simple. I have a custom on for multiple reasons, some of which isn't just because of "speed" or "lightness", but more for the extra features an actual custom kernel provides (like underclocking, per-app performance profiles, specific screen colour calibration profiles, HBM, Wireguard etc). But yeah, that's all pretty YMMV TBH, and it's probably not for everyone. So I'd still agree that there's probably no "need" for it, just something that's nice to have. Similarly Xposed, but really if somebody ported Exi off to Magisk or something I'll probably dump it in a heartbeat lol, as I can probably emulate some of the features I need from the framework with other software already lol. I plan to use [ROM] xXx NoLimits 2.9.6 [OP6] ☆ Speed/RAM optimized ☆ [Magisk Rom] for additional optimization... Care to comment? |

Never been doing all these since my galaxy s3 was sold many many years ago. Kernels, however, isn't as simple. You could try running different roms and revert back to the stock rom when your done with it. I would prefer to sit back and relax and wait for official updates OTA. Dont want to go through the hassle of modding here and there. But thats me, you might have a different view on this. Some might say, why get a Oneplus if you plan to use it standard?.. QUOTE(xxboxx @ Sep 30 2018, 09:56 AM) I need the HOME button because I use the double tap to screen off. Oneplus didn't have any other method from screen to off it, during Oreo time I also have to use the normal Android nav keys. Forgot to mention there's a small 'fix' for the back button bug. Which is to simply use another launcher.Maybe they'll fix it with next update. You still using Pill nav keys or full screen gesture? The only way to split screen now is have to press the 3 small dot on top of the app? Hold and drag doesn't seem to work anymore. Long screen is good for split screen but now more difficult to split screen. I tried using the latest leaked pixel launcher and the back button works as it should. No accidental triggering the recent apps menu no matter where I press. So that's good, but when swiping up the Pil to access the recent apps menu the animation is a bit off, u can compare using both OnePlus launcher and pixel launcher the OnePlus launcher's animation is a lot smoother. |

Maybe because I'm not using OnePlus launcher that's why didn't have much bug.I tried using the latest leaked pixel launcher and the back button works as it should. So that's good, but when swiping up the Pil to access the recent apps menu the animation is a bit off, u can compare using both OnePlus launcher and pixel launcher the OnePlus launcher's animation is a lot smoother. I try the OnePlus launcher and feel the touch registered a bit lag. And also need to wait the animation finish else the touch won't registered. Edit: now I understand what you mean. I just tried the latest leaked pixel launcher, the lag quite bad. Compared it with OnePlus launcher, OnePlus feels much more fluid. But the launcher I been using is the Rootless Pixel Launcher, v3.7 to be exact. It is buttery smooth. This post has been edited by xxboxx: Oct 2 2018, 06:16 PM |

How to bring back Vertical Recent Apps Screen on the OnePlus 6
I tried it, and failed miserably. Once changed the Pie Nav bar will also revert back to Oreo but without the RECENT button, swipe up on HOME will not do anything. Have to change the nav bar to Oreo or use nav gesture. |

(Update: Developers Picked) POCO needs your help to pick the next developers to get the POCO F1!
One of the reason why OnePlus have strong developer community support is because they give free phone to some of the developers. In turn these developers will create mods, apps, or ROM for the phone. Now Xiaomi also following this step by giving away Poco F1. In between giving away phone for modding community and Xiaomi’s Anti-Rollback Protection, I'm not sure which way they actually want to head. |

It's been 5years I didn't use an android phone but according to my old experience the music widget on the lockscreen look bigger. Today I just got my op6 and thanks to the strongly recommended by my friend then I updated to pie. Then I find it's quite ugly to see the music widget so small on lockscreen 😅 I am using QQ music
