QUOTE(Makakeke @ Jun 19 2019, 11:59 AM) Hi guys, wanna check on the TP system for my Amex card. The first pic below is for my spending in June 2019 which were all done during the weekend. The total was RM377.75. By right I should be earning 1,888 TP right (377.75x5)? no more tp earning during weekends in June, right?[attachmentid=10266699] However, under the TP breakdown, I only earned 894 points (RM178.8=894/5) which only accounted for my dining and grocery. Any idea why my petrol wasn't accounted for 5x or even 1x? [attachmentid=10266700] |

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Jun 20 2019, 11:24 AM) Yes, I'm referring MCC. nopeCan you say so different card terminal will produce different number of MCC code? I guess 1 company have limit berapa biji of card terminal, am I right? If like that (take example of AirAsia), then it will lot of products and services already. Flight ticket - Airline MCC code Sub with insurance - Insurance MCC code Sub with using bigpay - Ewallet MCC Code Then you book hotel (by Tune Hotel), another MCC code Hotel & Resort Then you rent car & taxi, then another MCC code transportations Oh my~ mcc is assigned by the acquirer bank WHEN you apply for the terminal/service with the bank. when a card payment is transacted, the money doesnt go into your/merchant's bank account directly. it's being held by the acquirer bank before transfer to you/merchant (net after deducting relevant fees). this is direct connection to the bank (as far as pos/eftpos is concern). during registration/KYC, bank require you to disclose your NATURE OF BUSINESS. they need to know whether your "business" is legit or high-risk, not selling prohibited items (drugs, weapons, etc). from the NATURE OF BUSINESS that you disclose, the bank assign the relevant MCC to you/your account. This MCC is configured to the terminal that you acquire when setting up your business. from your example, yes, different businesses will carry different MCC. except for ewallet, there is no specific single MCC that can be definitively used to define ewallet business. each acquirer bank treats it differently, which is why you see some ewallet services (tng ewallet, bigpay, boost) swings their MCC differently (in the early days) depending on how they are connecting with the payment gateways <-> acquirer banks. QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Jun 20 2019, 02:44 PM) does bigpay or any ewallet providers have any say in this?QUOTE(zenquix @ Jun 20 2019, 02:44 PM) qrpay cannot use card to reload, right? so, for now, it's irrelevant to them. |

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Jun 20 2019, 03:07 PM) SECOND, there is something behind story at MB side (which we don't know at customer view) that it might be been abuse or too serious case between using digital wallet or credit card. Perhaps maybe only internal staff know what's the reason digital wallet ceased all cashback or credit card. It might something to prevent "laundry"?? Oh well~ correct me if my explanation is incorrect. at least give a decent answers lor QUOTE(racery @ Jun 20 2019, 03:12 PM) nahhhhh next month they will get more from the public anyway QUOTE(talexeh @ Jun 20 2019, 03:14 PM) The fact that they're still amending the announcement & the vague answer you're getting from their CS clearly points to them still waiting for their legal team to come out with the right T&C. quite obvious.I can only guess that they rushed the announcement out without getting all the technicalities right & therefore, none of their CS are prepared to receive the kind of detailed email you sent them. |

QUOTE(HMMaster @ Jun 20 2019, 04:23 PM) I have feeling that it is not based on the MCC (too general). I think maybe they will hardcode the exception list based on the name of the merchant. exclusion can be few ways:by merchant description: boost, grabpay, bigpay, etc ---more accurate by mcc --not accurate as it may exclude other valid merchants, unless maybank studied their list of merchants tied to a specific mcc and deemed acceptable by merchant name -- not accurate either or combination of any above |

QUOTE(cheunice @ Jun 20 2019, 05:30 PM) I have pressed for the CS to provide me with a list, and this is the official list which will be excluded from receiving TP/MR/Cashback. For now they have identified these as E-wallets. GrabPay Network Sdn Bhd TNG Digital Sdn Bhd Alipay (Lazada Wallet Topup) Measat - Astro Pay Boost - Axiata Digital BIGPAY It was mentioned that they will from time to time add to this list, this is accurate as of now (as of 20th June 2019). |
