looks like Maybank intends to force everyone to the app to save on SMS Effective 14 December 2019, authorisation using Secure2u is required for transactions RM8,000 and above. https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...g/secure2u.pageso if we do online purchase > RM8k need to get the app? if you read some of the articles, MBB pulling the benefits of ewallets was suspected to be driven by the points collectors (TP and airmiles) as those had no limit.
all their cashback cards had a limit, so basically you spending RM1k on ewallet for RM50 is same as a normal use case scenario.
However my guess is pulling all benefits is easier than justifying selective removal
