for me better maximize cashback first before go for TP, but if that thing cost more than RM1000 yeah go for weekdays
*
Like you my habit now is to go for cashback only, because banks (Maybank) has a bad habit of always devaluing existing points including historical ones. Those points you are saving, thinking u got 2.5%, 2%, 1uddenly drop in value multiple times over several years.

I wished they would have reduced the points they give out rather than impact the stored values

Yes very bad ...

I wonder if the 3rd-party removal applies to Maybank QRPay

So everyone let's keep this short and sweet,

What credit card are you using with boost after the first week of July?
*
Boost has its own thread. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4698581/

I feel this relates to maybank credit card as this is one of the reason I stayed with the 2 cards since they are slowly cutting the cash bank and tp.

Thanks but No thanks for the moderation.

not a moderator and you are entitled to your opinion as i am mine.

Just that you are asking for alternate cards other than MBB2 Kard (which already means any reply is OT to this thread) and Boost thread has had a lot of discussion on this since MBB's announcement this week. So trying to start the same thread/discussion here is a bit moot

MBB's single announcement has undoubtedly sparked alot of discussion in all the ewallet threads, and it would likely be more targeted and accurate for you to go to that specific thread that you are concerned with.

1) Yes but only the AMEX will give you cashback.
2) No annual fee at all. You'll have to pay both card's SST though = RM50 / year.
3) Cashback is available for petrol but no discount. The 5% cashback will be credited into your AMEX statement on the 2nd of the following month.
4) No cashback for utilities.
5) No, Maybank will take the whole amount for cashback calculation. If you made the purchase on weekend, that'll be 5% * the lump-sum price of the phone capped at RM50. If it's on weekdays, you'll only get TP instead.
6) Not possible AFAIK.
*
5) Actually iirc ezpay earns 0 TP. You might not even earn cashback anymore. Have to double check

Already swiped rm1000 on June weekend using M2Amex, if I were to reload rm90 to Grab on 30Jun 11.40pm n it is posted on 1July, will this rm90 get CB for July? The balance of rm910 will be swiped on 6July.
*
based on fcb theory yes. I don't use grab pay so no idea really will have delayed posting.

don't take as 100% but if they don't give cashback/points for transactions between 1July - 7July, there can be disputes as that is basically implementing the notice ahead time and not observing the 21-day T&C. Don't think they will want to bother with a few $$$

Since ewallet no longer qualifies for cash back and points....guess Starbucks card top-up is not applicable either??  😅
*
starbucks card top up in store should be ok as it is the same terminal as F&B. I am interested to know however top up via the app... but that 1 i think don't take amex.

no idea, i wait them reply... this air bnb is booking in msia.. i not sure why they capture earlier than my transaction date. i double check the tac code is on 7pm saturday.
from what i know, normally cc shall follow the date in their local bank no matter this transaction occured where...
haha free then good....

*
that is incorrect. transaction date follows the local time of the payment/charging gateway. Look at the statement and you should see a 2 character letter at the end of each line (MY is Malaysia).

yea, there are always advantages and drawbacks, maybe they should allow preference for users to choose which comfortable with.
doubt how they consider that criteria, if previously have installed once but currently do not have the app installed hmm.gif
*
yeah i regret installing the app now. I rarely use it.
Anyone know the process to "remove" the app use from Maybank records so that I can continue getting sms.

Anyone here pay your IWK with mbb cc?

Mine is commercial property, auto debit for IWK is only for residential/domestic property.

Tried m2u but unable to do so.

1tp is better than none  tongue.gif

not considering boost or other cc, hopefully mbb card is usable
*
have you tried using iwk website? https://www.iwk.com.my/customer/pay-bill

i normally use boost but ca't recall if there is a credit card option

Jom pay still can select future date but for normal bill payee, when reach Step 3 usually there is date selection. But now no more, straight away settle payment after Step 3.
*
Edit: OK i verified. Looks like certain bills only. Paying credit card and telco can still be future dated. But Unifi and IWK cannot. Source of funds don't matter

Just to revisit this. I used Maybank2u chat to complain and the CS removed my activated devices from their system.

This is even after I uninstalled the app so for those who want to cut clean do contact Maybank.

Now hoping to see SMS continue next month. I also wrote a complaint email to Maybank on this lol.

Ok. I’ll terminate.

Having combined limit with Barcelona. So I’ll keep Barcelona.

you are trading weekend 5% weekday 1% for all day 2%?

your call if you don't have place to regularly use Amex on weekends (petrol, unifi and telco via M2U)

QUOTE(avinlim @ Aug 22 2019, 12:04 PM)
for credit card balance transfer, what is mean by the EIR rate...cant understand.

E.g from maybank, stated 0% interest, but EIR got x.xx%... cant under how bank calculate EIR even after google.

Enjoy 0% interest for 6 months with a low processing fee now!
Transfer a minimum of S$10,000 and enjoy:
0% p.a.^ with 1.38% processing fee (EIR at 2.96% p.a.), prevailing interest rate applies thereafter.
Transfer a minimum of S$2,000 and enjoy:
0% p.a.^ with 1.88% processing fee (EIR at 4.02% p.a.), prevailing interest rate applies thereafter.
*
The "interest" is the processing fee over 6m. Then use formula to "annualise" it to EIR
