I just pay my credit card statement balance for Visa and AMEX but only VISA show that i payed but not AMEX. Need how long before it reflected ? (new credit card user). Thanks.

Hi sifus here, I got my CC applications rejected a few times before by Maybank.
I'm getting quite frustrated    and don't know the reasons (they can't check/disclose). Wonder if anyone here has a clue?

My salary is well above the req for M2C CC, and I've applied through Card Centre, M2u, and telemarketing before, over the years.
Maybank is not my salary account (money in and out frequently), but I do have a loan with them, which I paid consistently.
Also have no problems getting cards from other banks. Have 5 at the moment, planning to rid some if I could get Maybank CC.

Just curious, do you roughly know if they have any specific CL range they're looking at when approving? Eg. % of my salary, or an absolute number.

not a problem also, i'm far from reaching my transaction limit, i only use my cc for several things, ie petrol, groceries, digi payment, apple music and netflix. I had no problem before this, only for the past few days, called maybank few times already, same answer, i wrongly key in my CVV number, problem is, card details is saved in my digi, and apple music, i had no issue before this, amount is deducted as usual.

my expiry date is in 2024. anyway things settled already.

Just an update to my problem, they need me to make payment while i was on the phone with them to troubleshoot the problem, so i open digi website and proceed with payment and eventually payment got through. As my apple subscription, they need to reset and asked me to try again in 10 minutes after the call, and I tried, seems my card is accepted again.

So I didnt know what is the root problem. My last transaction before all my online payment failed was at tesco last sunday at the self service kiosk. My payment using amex was declined and error, but my visa card went through. Hopefully its just an isolated case due to glitch.

Can you just go into a Maybank branch and get a new credit card? Mine is expiring in October and just thinking if I can get a new one to replace it; instead of them mailing over (cause I don't trust their mailing address)

I am thinking of cancelling my Maybank 2 Gold Card (Mastercard & Amex) because I just got my Maybank Shopee Credit Card. Is it worth it?

The reason is that I don't spend much offline, most of my spending are online transactions. TreatPoints don't mean anything to me, it's really just to offset the RM25 Service Tax imposed by government.

With the reasons stated above, the MasterCard brings no value to me. However, I do like the American Express card, 5% cashback on weekends is a nice bonus, though I would admit that I don't really spend that much too offline.

Hence, I want to remain the American Express card and cancel the MasterCard, but it seems like it's not possible, cancel means both also cancel.

Is it better to just cancel my Maybank 2 Gold Cards and use the Maybank Shopee Card instead? Cuz I really don't want to have 3 cards. On the other hand, I have 10000 TreatPoints to offset the Service Tax for one of my cards. Should I just maintain all 3 then?

Im doing some card housekeeping by deactivating some of the useless card to avoid the annual tax. For the maybank 2 plat/gold, is there any cons in deactivating the visa/MasterCard portion of the 2 card? I mean does the amex benefit remain or the term and condition will change if i delete the visa/mastercard?

anyone card shown up as PENDING ACTIVATION in M2u Android app? my cards are still valid till october... or is it just temporary system down or something?

If Visa/MasterCard, around +2.25 to +2.5%.
If Amex, +2.5% to +3%.

If you intend to use M2 Amex during weekend to get 5% cashback, make sure the "Transaction Date" is a Saturday or Sunday. Eg if you spend on Saturday morning (KL time), the transaction date may be a Friday; if you spend on Monday morning (KL time), the transaction date may be a Sunday.

in summary, dont use AMEX for oversea. extra conversion rate.
compare before, not worth it
