If Boost is at different time zone, it is a good news to those holding Maybank FC Barcelona VS.  tongue.gif

Haha just saw this part of reply.

Let me test next month if nobody has tested topping up boost on Saturday 1am. I already maxed my boost this month (4500) using Amex so can't try already. No problem testing as long as it benefits everyone.

Anyway to respond to the guy/girl earlier, I have topup boost at 7am Saturday (6 April) using Amex. No issues that it shows transaction date is on Saturday.

thanks for the info guys, im actually thinking to use it to pay for exam paper
as it is kind of a late decision made by me to take the exam recently, but my savings are already locked in investment i put in earlier
guess i better restructure my money instead of looped inside the interest black hole
thanks guys

Well if you're paying for your exams, u can use the balance transfer method. I used to do that for my ACCA professional exams. Used to use UOB vox card to pay for 5% cb for online, then balance transfer to my aeon card for 6 mths interest free.

sadly i only have maybank cc  cry.gif

then go apply aeon too. I applied 2 banks for the acca exam fees many years ago. one BT, one earn cb. well as long as you're investing in the correct place, having debts is alright because it will be repaid.

In this case, is there any chance to apply AMEX only?

Maybank will tell you "we have a card of AMEX only." Kindly visit our website for the product information.

Assume
RM5000-6000/month using Amex
March,  April,  May. 3 months.
RM4500 for cashout and RM2000 for retail/bills/transfer.
Can reach 100k TP in 4 months.
1 Amex on 1 Boost Premium Account.
*
I thought withdrawal and payments shares the same limit of total 4500 transaction a month. No?

how many days it takes for the withdrawal. last time I did it, took 1 week.

the travel insurance is pointless though. better to get a proper travel insurance. it's always better to have a higher credit limit as it may make your CTOS score prettier.
*
Higher credit limit means ctos prettier meh? I thought higher credit limit means it'll eat into your financial commitments.

Higher credit limit, I believe will affect the ability for you to borrow loan later for your house. This is because, even if you don't utilise upto the limit for your monthly spending, it is already committed for you.

Hmmm. I always call banks to reduce my limit. Like affinbhp at 1.5k, public bank at 3k and etc.

Higher credit limit means you have high income, high value of assets such as properties, shares and FD to be pledged. Banks will offer you more credit limit based on additional assets.
*
It doesn't translate to prettier ctos. Financial commitment high, ctos still not pretty eh.

QUOTE(zstan @ May 23 2019, 08:26 AM)
higher credit limit doesn't mean ask you spend until your limit la boss.

This is because, even if you don't utilise upto the limit for your monthly spending, it is already committed for you.

a limit is just a limit, not your spending
*
Not your spending, but still your commitment. When a limit is given to you, it becomes financial commitment. Whether you utilise it for spending or not, it is already there. Everyone has a financial commitment credit limit based on their salary.

So let's say today my credit card limit in total is 100k. Because of this, I will not be able to borrow full loan. Of coz there are other criteria, but credit card limit is definitely one of the major determinants in loan application.

So, a limit is NOT just a limit. A limit is a threshold allowable to a person as a financial commitment. So, the higher your credit card limit, the lower your housing/car loan limit.

QUOTE(laymank @ May 23 2019, 10:22 AM)
beebee1314 is correct though. The total commitments given to you will affect your loan/credit applications in the future, regardless whether you spend it or not.
*
Finally someone who understands that credit limit is NOT just a limit.

Not stated, or you never bother to read the Cash Back Terms and Conditions in the website? Don't have to recall. Anytime unsure, refer to TnC. Simple. Unless you're plain lazy to read.

3. The following transactions are not taken into account in the accumulation of Cash Back:
 Transactions for Maybank EzyCash, Maybank EzyPay Plus, Cash Treats, Cash Advance, and Balance
Transfer;
 Payment via JomPAY and FPX; <<<<-------¬
 Refunded, disputed, unauthorized or fraudulent retail transactions;
 Payment for transactions, payment of annual card membership fees, interest payments, late
payment fees, charges for cash withdrawals;
 Only Cash Back amount above RM1.00 will be awarded to Cardmember;
 Any other form of service or miscellaneous fees.

morning CC-ers, if let's say when you pump using Amex at Petronas and they say go to counter since got problem with pump terminal

can we go to counter and then ask if can pay via Amex not?

one thing is i'm shy if we go over then people might think this guy no cash wanna pay card (but i just wanna earn points and cb)

same thing with Celcom bills also, because i read elsewhere that through M2U cannot pay using Amex but can pay by visiting physical Celcom store
*
15-20 years ago, it feels so grand to hold a credit card to pay stuffs. Remember my aunt holding it to pay meals. When I got my first credit card, feels so grand too.

Don't be shy. Credit card shows you have earned enough to hold the credit limit.

Anyway if u wanna pay your celcom bills using Amex, try using boost. Topup boost using Amex. Then pay celcom bills using boost. I'm doing that now.

I wonder, is it ok to convert our top up to bigpay (e.g. rm2k) to EzyPay plus that charge 9% ?

Will Maybank gonna ask me regarding on this “purchase”?

FYI the online site I purchase doesn’t offer EzyPay 0% by Maybank and is using foreign transaction, hence I plan to use BigPay for lower exchange rate.
*
Not worth. Why not balance transfer for 0% interest? Most banks have 0%. Just need to survey around. Just read the threads for credit cards.

15-20 years ago I was wondering how many years before my pay reach 4k to get a gold card. Unfortunately, didn't feel grand though.

Today I think credit card is very common.
*
Haha looks cool. Like watching TV, they open the wallet all roll down. Last time, ppl thinks use credit card looks grand. Now, cash is king.

no no, i really surprise for this information, because actually this month im apply housing loan,
but banker told me i still need clear my credit card to get loan approved, left only 5k debts on my CIMB credit card with 20k limit
so i already settle but then after know this infomation from u, maybe i will just cut this credit card.

because all the while i just think like other ppl if u no use the card, which mean didnt kacau ur apply loan limit
*
If u utilise your credit limit, then it's bad la. If you don't, it's still a financial commitment, just u didn't utilise. It may still affect your loan application even if u didn't utilise, but if u utilise, then it will affect more lo. If every month kena late payment, ma lagi teruk lo. So if u don't really use so much limit, call bank to lower it. Like me, I only play around with bigpay and boost, so I don't really need so much credit limit. Public Bank QMC only 2k. Affinbank for petrol only 1k limit, maybank only 8k, SCB only 9k. All my cards ngam ngam roll 2 months only.

this is something new . i always thought it's good to have low utilization rate aka debt to credit limit ratio to give a good impression towards the bankers. hmm.gif
*
Ya I always thought so too. My can loan officer may be wrong, so you can double check with your car loan or house loan officer. I kaypo ask so she told me lo. Dunno la. May not apply for all.

I know ppl with bad rating and low salary also gotten car loan. Every few months sure refinance his credit card debts. Keep EPP and pay slightly higher than minimum payment only. Oh well

So my car loan officer may not be 100% correct, anyway I already reduce.

QUOTE(JuneResources @ May 28 2019, 03:28 PM)
So all these credit limit is you request by bank?
Sometimes the bank set default your credit limit based on your salary.
*
Yup I requested. No banks give u 2k limit or 1k limit. Affinbank one is lousy though. Must go branch to reduce. Phone call they don't accept.

Nowadays no much ppl with "very pretty rating" and never overdue with all the loan. Else, you can not need apply loan anymore and straight away use cash. Well, cash is the KING. thumbup.gif
At least occasionally 1 year kena 1 time overdue. But very fast settle.

Wow, it's seems like I also need to reduce my credit limit.
Damn so many cards, will make my next time apply loan surely reject.. shakehead.gif
*
my car loan auto transfer from savings. so never kena overdue. loan is.importsnt coz poor ppl like me wanna borrow money for car. haha

not confirm kena reject la. but due consideration lo.
