Just like car, if shut down, no petrol is wasted... But if running idle, little petrol will be used...
*
Battery does get drained even if phone is shut down. Just very minimal. That's the nature of rechargeable battery.

My battery drain 1% even I shut it down at night, is it considered normal ?
*
Yes. Cause when it is shutdown after overnight it will drain abit. Also when you boot up the phone, it will drain a bit. Add together, you get 1% of drain. Bootup takes a lot of power.

I do not think there is a better phone than this M1 at the moment. Unless your priority is camera and WiFi 5ghz then you can look elsewhere.

When is Realme 2 (if ever) going to arrive in Malaysia? This will be another serious contender for M1.

Hi all. Just bought the 4gb version. When i checked the android security patch version it stated June 2018. Checked any new system update but there is none. Ended up i downloaded manually the latest firmware from ASUS website. Is that normal or you all received all update via OTA?
*
The update via OTA is by batch. Sometimes it take longer for certain people. If you can't wait, updating manually is fine too. Enjoy the phone!

Was worried if my phone is left out from the OTA update initially. If that the case, nothing to worry off anymore. Enjoying the phone now  rclxm9.gif ..

What version did you update to? I presumed it's 327. Cause the latest version 331 full firmware is not out yet.

No worries...sheeple are a plenty. Even if an overpriced 7.2 in semi-tablet can hardly fit in their pockets.

For me, the perfect size would be no more than 5.5 in. I maxed out with the 5.99 in. M1. Any larger and it would be impractical for daily use - for me anyway.

No issue for my unit...

can you try to disabe the WPA security for the hotspot...if can download/upload meaning nothing's wrong with the hardware...test first without security password... I think it has something to do with your telco too... which telco is this? UniFi Mobile...? Some telco plan cannot hotspot at all...
*
Yeah, some telco does not allow sharing of mobile through hotspot tethering.

very disappointed with this phone.
the camera app keep crashing out. FB app also crash often.

not to mention the slow and lagness when switching app.
*
Try updating your firmware and clear the cache. The phone is very stable and no crashing for most users.

As for the slow and lagginess, maybe you only have 3gb memory and using too much app switching. FB especially takes a lot of memory. I don't do FB but I do have occasionally slow app switching which is fine with me. Not so much lag until it is annoying.

I just tried opening my phone call app. It does take like 1-2 secs to load up when it is not in memory. However, when in memory loading will be instantaneous.

As for camera app crashing, that is certainly not normal. Try installing other camera app from playstore. Lots of free camera apps out there. If still crashes then probably your unit's camera is faulty. Get it checked at service center.

thanks, mine left 1gb free.  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  (3gb+32gb)

That's a lot. Mine only have like 500mb free. Which is fine as long as it still works properly. Memories are meant to be used. If the OS can use it to 100% but with efficiency then it is fine.

Why yours so little?  mine sometimes left 1.5g.😄
*
No idea, maybe I installed too many apps that run in the background. Even Naptime and GSam is taking lots of memory in the background.

It's okay with me as long as the phone is working like it should. Most importantly no battery drain.

Here it is, guys. Back to the "good ol' days" with .334.  biggrin.gif

Rebooted just before charging to see how it goes with a clean slate.

Thanks for helping to test new firmware. Guess it's time for me to upgrade from .326. Waiting for the TWRP version in XDA. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I do realize the phone doesn't want to sleep... Any idea what's the Android system? Using so much power...
*
Use GSam, it will show you in detailed the individual processes under system.

Oh wait...you are already using GSam, tap the arrow on the right. It will show the processes.

They totally removed 331 OTA in the post... The 331 was a "mistake"...

Good that they aware the issue promptly... And please no more careless OTA in the future... Before 331, we had the "bloatware" installed together with OTA... Now they really listening to end users feedback....

Keep up the good work Asus...

That's why don't be so rush to update. Learn to be patience. If the phone is working fine, don't need to rush to update. Wait for others to update first and then provide feedback. mega_shok.gif

Asus better get rid of the stock. With so many competition launched and M2 on the horizon, soon M1 will become history.

Wow! And I thought 599 is already very cheap. They are really throwing the price to get more people to buy their phones.

im on the latest .334 version, when im not connected to Wifi, the battery usage is fine, but when im connected to home wifi, the battery started to drain pretty fast, between 15-20% in 3 hours. (added : system consumed highest battery - Android System, follow by Android OS)

have to restart the phone then only the usage will behave better a bit.. already wipe cache btw.

Is the phone warm to touch?
