Cheaper alternatives for the older models

Max Plus M1 not to be confused with Max Pro M1 laugh.gif

Don't recommend Mediatek SoC. Only for casual users who don't know difference between Mediatek and Snapdragon. Personally I will never get a Mediatek phone.

That is too big. I don't like to carry a brick. Around 5" - 5.5" is best for me. Even this Asus M1 is a bit big for me liking. My favourite is still the iphone 6s 4.7" form factor.

Developer mode in Asus Cam!!! Wow!

But the EIS, a brief test shows it has problem. Focusing is bad when EIS is enabled.

Why do you want to buy an iphone clone? It's android and you cannot get real iphone experience. It has bad camera, mediatek SoC and so on. All the worst of quality. Don't support these cloning.

It's just to show off during business meeting... Some people will have different perception if we hold an iPhone than non-iPhone... Of course I use my LeMoto P2 too but I just put the Clone iPhone on the desk (face down) or inside my shirt pocket (protrude it out a bit...)

Money / status makes the world go round... Yes... No...?
*
Don't need to do that bro. Even tea lady have iphone. So it's nothing to brag about.

Guys, just use the phone. Stop obsessing with standby time. It's a good phone for it's price. Enjoy it.

Clear all used apps before charging and/or put the phone in airplane mode if possible. That way you'll get "rapid charging" (around 2 hrs and 40 mins, from 0 - to 100%).

For battery mileage, make sure as many apps as possible are battery optimized, especially Android System. Turn off it's background activity ("Apps background is limited when not in use"). Also deny background data usage for apps for which you think background data access is unnecessary. The same goes for access to location services.

Allow auto-sync only for important apps like Gmail and Contacts and possibly your other chosen apps. Keep Data Saver turned on. Disable wifi scanning if not necessary.

Uninstall or disable any apps that are useless to you via the conventional method or via adb, if necessary (I safely uninstalled/disabled a total of 23 system apps and a few more 3rd party bloatware ones).

Cut down Window and Transition animation scales and Animator duration scale to .5x in Developer Options. This will speed up operation of your phone and overall power wastage on animations will be reduced. Keep notifications on only for the apps/system apps that you need.

Read somewhere that by running the battery down to shut off and recharging it to 100% in off mode before restarting it in fully charged state - before unplugging it, will "calibrate" your battery. Dunno how far that is true but I've done it the prescribed 3 times - just in case.

Wipe the cache partition via recovery mode after a big ass, major update.

Use Naptime like me!  biggrin.gif
*
I have never cleared my cache partition since day one. Haven't had any battery drain issue. Hmm...maybe I should do it since charging my phone takes like 4 hours now to 100%.

Whoa...that is SLOW!

I don't think your slow charge is due to an uncleared cache partition. The impact of residual firmware cannot be that bad.

Must be something else...like maybe data or wifi left on or uncleared apps?
*
I never turn off my Wifi. It is always on. Data will be off when I am disconnected from my home WiFi (using Automate). If need constantly micro manage your phone like this, then that phone tak boleh pakai.

Ya, you guys might have a point there. Ok, I've officially stepped off the Poco train smile.gif

By the way azhar75, based on your RM1750 with super power philosophy, you can't get the iPhone X Retarded!
*
That's why I am going to wait for someone to sell his tested Pocophone. No worry about parts not working. And lower price too. Hope it will go down in price to below 1k by end of the year. However, judging from how used phones are sold in Malaysia, not likely.

Or get Asus 5Z. It is a very good balance between Oneplus 6 and Poco F1.

Hai loohhh... Apple products are actually velly cheap in long term lohhh... Let's see the genuine iPhone X Retarded will cost how much... Hopefully, RM700 x 5 years = RM3,500 (64GB)...
*
Yes, I used my iphone 5 for 4+ years and then sold it for RM500. rclxms.gif

That is why iphone will always be my main phone. However, with Apple keep increasing the price, I will probably buy used old iphone or change to android. Apple is getting too greedy and not innovative anymore. Keep coming up with things that other phone manufacturer already implement. Without Steve Jobs, I predict another 5 years Apple will go down.

For future reference :

Soon, Apple is "courage" enuff to remove not just the 3.5mm jack and fingerprint sensor, but also THE charging port for the sake of expensive "Wireless" over-the-air tech...

"Charging-gate" has been discovered recently on "all" brand new iPhone XS...(just software glitch, me guess...)

Hope the Android planet doesn't follow "wireless" tech too soon...
*
I believe it's just a matter of time when wireless charging will take over. Just not within this few years as wireless charging need to be able to charge quickly.

this is the first time i got kelentong by reviewer.

should really not listen on what they are promoting, instead take it as an extra reference.

The missing dual band wifi and sub par 4G performance is really disappointing.

Mi A1 still faster and better
*
Yup, don't listen to reviewers. Most of them do not stress on the cons. They don't dare to offend phone companies because they got the review units for free.

Try turning off WiFi and see if it helps. I'm getting a 0.25%-0.5% drain per hour but that could also be because I'm only on single SIM.

azhar75. when you used the M1 were you on single or dual sim?
*
Mine drain at around 1% every 2.5 hours. It's fine with me. My WiFi is never turned off. Mobile data turn off only when I am connect to home wifi.

If you can do some tests, try using only 1 sim at a time and see which sim is draining the battery.
