Anyone experiencing poor GPS signal? Having this issue since the moment I bought the phone 3 months ago 😥
*
Ever since using poco f1, there's like 70% chances that Waze cant lock location even after few minutes, Google Map no issue at all.

QUOTE(freakenstein @ Dec 18 2018, 11:10 PM)
There's a setting to tweak. Day and night difference. Go settings find A-GPS settings, change the ip to supl.google.com

Used to not be able to play pokemon go without my phone keep losing GPS but after changing the settings, worked fine all the way.
*
That's new, will try and feedback.

How frequent this issue? Try use Waze see whether got the same prob?
*
For me, Waze have higher chance of not locking, compared to Google Map. Although some said it's Umobile issue, I need to change telco then only know ( planning to change )

Go playstore and look for GPS Test app, can test your gps locking speed.
*
No issue GPS locking, but Waze randomly just wont get it. I can wait for few minutes, then open Google Map no issue display location and navigation.

Check whether any behind got run any services that should not necessary to be run. For me brightness set half is more then enough.use your battery till 0% -> 100%>0%, it should be reset or recycle your battery capacity cache.

mobile data. It consume lots of power, especially when he stream. Worse if signal wasnt good.

Best value for money phone you can get with a few compromises, last time was oneplus one.  If you can wait, better wait for 5G phones, more future-proof, around march 2019. But with this price point I wouldn't bother waiting. xD
*
It will be badly optimized, worse is there's no 5G standard from IEEE yet, so the so-called 5G phone release next year will be telco siok-sendiri standard ( ie AT&T will rebadge their current LTE+ phone to display 5G E next year, even though it's nothing related to 5G )
Ignore early product for future technology at all cost. Go research those early 4G phone, bad battery life, high cost, and if you bought wrong standard one, GG future proof ( look at WiMax that 'suppose' to be 4G, but lose to LTE )

Who say no 5G Standard? IEEE is not the one that set standard for 5G. 3GPP is the one that set standard for all the Mobile Network Spectrum.

As someone from Telecommunication Industry, I can assure you that 5G standard is already there and fixed, its called NR (New Radio). Trial has been on going for quite sometimes, yes there is no commercial UE (User Element) / Terminal available in the market yet.
WiMax has never been 4G from the beginning, its not about who win or lose. WiMax story is different all together.
*
Last I heard 5G NR still proposal.
Even after confirmed, still doesn't mean we get properly optimized first gen 5G product. Compatibility also headache, as different telco may opt for different frequency ( likely due to existing h/w upgrade limit )

Telco will rebrand their current or upgraded service to 5G marketing term ( AT&T fake 5G )

WiMax initially had been competing with LTE, but LTE gets more manufacturer and telco adoption. ( remember YES by YTL ? )

hi, thank you for the feedback..

so far the cheapest I saw is rm1299 for 128gb Red global ROM variant. Is this a good deal? unsure.gif
*
I think just go get from official Mi Store, price difference should be small, just check for Lazada or Shopee discount. Official Malaysia warranty for less worry.

You sure? Gcam shadows are not highlighted
*
If you zoom in and compare, 'brighter' stock camera photo lack details and sharpness, overblown highlight.

Typical misconception. People usually think brighter photo are better ( if dont pixel peeping )
That's how poco f1 get more votes than iphone X, note 9 and hydrogen red one in mkbhd smartphone camera blind test, making to final round and lose only to mate 20 pro.

EDIT: too free in office, so I did this:
Left stock, right Google Camera
While I dont have original photos, but stock camera apps seems to push ISO too high, and too aggressive on noise reduction.

Anyone here having GPS iisue with the pocophone? My gf bought 1 the phone kept having issue with GPS when using waze. Keep having to reboot the phone for the GPS to work properly. Any solution or is it a known problem???
*
Which telco you're on ?
I'm on umobile and have high rate of GPS not lock in Waze. Just now back from MidValley, both Waze and GMap cant navigate, I had to follow old klang road to bukit jalil, coz I know how to get home from mrr2 there. Keep restart Waze also same.

Gonna port to tunetalk soon, will test and feedback, if it's umobile problem or poco f1 problem hmm.gif

By right, if Google Maps can navi without issue (any telcos), meaning it's not hardware or telco issue.

Waze is infamous for "unreliable" server "hand-shake" when launching the app. So, try to open Google Map first and see if GPS can lock our current location. If Google Maps cannot lock the position, meaning it's hardware issue edy...

Once Google Map have locked the current position, then only launch Waze. By right (if Waze server is not wonky at that moment), it will update the location within 10 seconds and we can start navi as usual...
*
I'm going to test if telco or f1 issue.
Previously on Pixel XL, cant recall issue with Waze before, except when underground and totally no data connection so it cant calculate route, once go out from got back signal, immediately lock and navigate.
