POCO puts TWS earbuds into development

It seems that just about every smartphone manufacturer is making true-wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds these days, whether it be Apple, Google, Huawei, Samsung or Xiaomi. Now, POCO is getting in on the act.

Citing consumer demand as the reason to release TWS earbuds, POCO confirmed on Twitter that the earbuds are already in development. According to the tweet, the earbuds are coming to India, meaning that they may well be India-exclusives.

On the one hand, the news has excited POCO fans. Numerous people have been tweeting their appreciation of POCO listening to the community, along with their anticipation of being able to purchase POCO TWS earbuds. On the other hand, some people are speculating that these will be POCO-branded Xiaomi Mi AirDots, in the same way that the POCO X2 was a re-branded Redmi K30.

Either way, the POCO TWS earbuds will likely offer decent value for money, as seems to be the case with all POCO devices. Expect aptX and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, along with claims of the earbuds offering excellent battery life.

All about money biggrin.gif

Early days when Apple removed 3.5mm headphone jack, almost all Android phone manufacturer poke fun at it.
As Airpod keep generating huge profit for Apple years after years, they all changed their view, and realize how much money can be made. RM15 cheap 3.5mm headphone vs few hundred ringgit TWS ? profit difference are different level laugh.gif Even a not-so-cheap 3.5mm headphone cost rm100 like that, are not same price range with TWS ( ignoring cheap knockoff )

but phones with 3.5mm jack are rare nowadays
and people are excited when phones have this port
yes TWS is exciting for leisure music
but luckily PocoF1 have the headphone jack
playing games are always awesome with it
*
Although I use TWS earbud for years, almost daily for youtube consumption, but I still demand 3.5mm headphone jack.
It's easy to find IEM that cost rm50 but far superior sound ( KZ, QKZ ), and I always swap to IEM when I listen to music ( Spotify )

Since Xiaomi / Poco failed to continue the F1's tradition, the "Android Killer" phone is ready to attack the Android world:

[attachmentid=10469814]

With the global recession effects, spending on luxury tech will be a second thought decision.

Face unlock "may" not work when wearing a mask is compulsory in year 2020, 2021 and 2022...So, TouchID is the way to go...

Can Pixel 4a save the Android world? Xiaomi Mi A4 is no where to be found...
*
iPhone SE 2 will destroy pixel 4A, no doubt even coming from Nexus fans.

Hmm..my poco already 1 year ++..now my hand gatal wanna upgrade to another phone  sweat.gif
Since i'm always play COD Mobile, Pubg, Honkai Impact 3, performance its a must then.
When i play in a long run, phone start to heat & performance will drop abit(the game not smooth, fps drop)
My option is:
- ROG Phone 2
- Black Shark 3 (need to wait Global Version, since i'm prefer global set).
Which 1 is better or got other option u guys can suggest? budget max 2.5k
*
ROG2, my friend 'had' it ( he killed it during snorkeling ). Good performance and now price ( imported ) very tempting.
Lots of accessories, dual screen is really wub.gif but beware ROG2 accessories build quality are not good, lots of tiny rubber ( glued to plastic ) peel off easily or broke.
Phone itself I heard no complaint from him.

Newer Asus phone ( I know ROG2 and zenfone 6 ) have better OS optimization now. Much stock Android and good optimization.

How about Oneplus 7T Pro (RM2899) or Oneplus 7T (RM2299)?
*
oneplus always been good option for gaming. Top SOC with one of the best Android optimization.

that fan is blowing air though but is not directly attached to IHS of CPU.
Like getting 400-500 water cooler for destop but placing it next to CPU, isntead of directly onto......
ie. fan blow around the chip, but no direct contact with any heat pipes or fins.
like hiring civil engineer to design a car  doh.gif
*
I remember seeing JerryRigEverything teardown.
It has similar fan like flat sucking type in some slim laptop, it's not situated right on top of heatsink due to size restriction.
It sucks cool air, and blow hot air out. It will works, how effective is the question.

RN9 Pro pricing. You can agak2 from here how much the F2 will be.

4GB RAM + 64GB storage - USD 269 (about RM1,156)
6GB RAM + 128GB storage - USD 299 (about RM1,286)

*
Keep my eyes on it, may not upgrade ( more like downgrade ) because currently using Mi9T ( non pro ) that have SD730 while RN9 pro using SD720G doh.gif Mi9T have telephoto while RN9 pro dont sad.gif and RN9 pro using LCD sweat.gif

On paper RN9 pro loses most and only win on battery capacity, display size ( most phone now too big already ! ) and expandable memory slot ( which I dont care ), how can F2 win market like this laugh.gif

Hey man. Mind to share some thoughts on your mi9T. Actually was thinking about changing because of the screen. How would you describe the user experience judging you have used a poco before. Don't mind pm me on your thoughts cuz this is a poco thread
*
I think still related, for comparison biggrin.gif

SOC, barely noticeable for me, as I'm not gamer or power user. Go mi9T pro if you need to.
Camera, upgrades and slight downgrade ( maybe ). Ultrawide + wide + tele is useful. However I think poco f1 might have slightly better main ( wide ) camera IF you use Google Camera mod.
Display is total win biggrin.gif AMOLED + color accuracy ( DCI-P3 support )
Battery life, similar. Possibly poco f1 will get slightly better SOT, but both gave me around 3.5 hours SOT @ 50% for my kind of usage.
Looks, god-damn-that-unnecessary-huge NOTCH bangwall.gif I know poco purposely mimic iphone X's notch design, but f1 dont have that much sensor and dont need this big notch.

IMO unless you hate that notch ( which I discovered I hate it so much after getting poco f1 ) or dislike their screen, no need change to mi9T. It's 2019 phone, better hunt other newly launch phone if hand itchy laugh.gif

poco f2, sd7xx processor
pick f2 pro, sd8xx processor + 5g options

other than this, I think pro will hv amoled

I read everything is perfect, except no sdcard support
*
I wonder if poco realize they put too much value into F1, and now retract back on spec/value. F2 with SD7xx just dont feel right, although I dont have issue with modern SD7xx as current mi9T SD730 are enough for non-power user like me. If poco f2 with SD7xx doesnt offer with lower price tag than f1, it's big slap back to fans.

If F2 pro really go with SD865, it will not be cheap, as stupid Qualcomm forcing 5G and thus higher cost to manufacturer, that price will reflect back to consumer. Fxxk we do with 5G phone in 2020, I even doubt 2021 will have enough practical 5G network.

Qualcomm are partly ( or major part ) responsible for this, the forcing 5G ( that's far from widespread yet ) down manufacturer and consumer's throat. Buying expensive 5G phone so your can use 5G network maybe 2022 ? ranting.gif

ya no point to buy 5g now, unless u stay in KL city center or peejay area. not to mention 5G is only going to launch in 3rd quarter...
I remember last time when 4G launch, it took years to reach my area. by the time it reach my area, we can expect Poco f3 or f4
*
I even doubt it'll be widespread enough in 2021.
Early days in 4G LTE, first year I use is to perform speedtest and posted in FB. Because once you move around, it'll fall back to 3G etc.

QUOTE(EBBattlefield @ May 10 2020, 09:53 AM)
is 5G the reason why even xiaomi phones are priced at 4k like samseng phone? hmm.gif
why samseng not affected, still sell at 4k though?
*
xiaomi phone's price keep rising these years, same reason to OnePlus, as they gain fame and sales increase. Step up build quality, more features etc.

5G is another reason on top of xiaomi's increase. Cant recall where I saw a report that claim SD865 had increase stock unit cost price significantly, and the additional 5G antenna is another increase in h/w cost.

SD dominated the market, and control the price...
tat y many manufacturer is developing their own processor.

sigh, I really like sd... their kernel is always up to date, true open source and the adreno is damn good...
*
Ya we need competition. Sadly exynos almost Samsung use only, last time meizu got use but not popular. Huawei also own use.
If Apple developing own SOC are true, also own use. Can only hope Google developing own SOC, got little rumor only.
Mediatek need redo their marketing/image, always give impression of low performance and cheating biggrin.gif

It's not wise to invest on Snap865 as the price for this SoC is expensive merely due to 5G modem. Why pay for something that we are not (yet) using... (?)

Malaysia 5G won't be cheap even the coverage is present. So, for me, I'm not gonna replace my Who-R-We Mate 10 Pro for Snap865. Gonna see the market price for 5G plan and then decide to invest on next >RM5,000 flagship...

Maybe Snap768G will give lower price for next Poco series.
*
Even if 768G lower cost, it's still 'force-bundle' 5G from Qualcomm ranting.gif
I have no issue with newer gen SD7xx as I'm using mi9T ( SD730 ) and have no complaint over performance. What we want is to remove near-useless-now 5G bruce.gif

QUOTE(evolutiontech88 @ May 13 2020, 04:45 PM)
Below RM 2k would be a steal for Poco.
Let's wait and see 1st.
*
sad.gif I just checked back price I purchased my Poco F1, which is below rm1.3k
That's kinda the reason Poco F1 become famous and popular back then, that price with flagship SOC is a steal.

At that time, their proper flagship, the Mi 8 was 1,599. The Mi 10 now is 2,799, hence Poco F2 Pro will likely cost above RM2k now.

Of course the super premium will always be in the market and there will be buyers for sure.... but volume wise is getting smaller and smaller...

Source...

The world has rejected super premium series and that's a fact.... Apple is "surviving" due to "Made in America" policy.... Outside North American region, Apple is in trouble... Luckily got Entity List introduced earlier to save Apple from sinking further...

YouTube influencers also helps alot... Me is still awaiting for the right moment to jump-ship from Android to iOS...
*
Most people who will buy flagship, will continue buy flagship.
Except when flagship crossed that 1000USD psychological barrier. For me that's OG Pixel XL, bought for over rm4k, 2 years later resale value left rm1.5k doh.gif

I since been using flagship killer ( poco f1 and mi9T ) that have superb value.
now waiting Nord biggrin.gif

iOS 14 burned up my first desire to jump ship into iPhone.
However based on beta experience so far tested by reviewer, not what I really can adopt completely yet. Eyeing iOS15 see if it'll looks and function more like Android biggrin.gif

Well said on 'notch-less', one of the biggest gripe I have for iPhone are massive notch.
