i believe that it all boils down to luck. If u are lucky, u get open minded muslim staying as your neighbor who supports neighbors having dogs around to act as an alarm and if you are DAMN UNLUCKY, u get chinese who hates dogs and complain on every single bark.....

I also dun think it has got anything to do with religion....it is more of human behavior......

btw, religion is so vague and widely misinterpreted these days.....

sorry to all u guys... not my intention to create scene here, but i really can't tolerate if people 'playing' around with my religion... mostly everybody know only muslim man can have until 4 wives... BUT only IF he is capable to be equal, otherwise it's A BIG SINS...

and which is better do u think... having 4 wives legally or 1 wife + 3 girlfriends/mistresses...?

most of these cats keepers...really irresponsible...suka buang those ikan out of the window behind the alley and the cat will be there...if not come over to other people's place...

then the cat beranak mati, the kittens also still suckling on the dead mother's teats....i have to bring them in to handfeed. At the end also cannot survive....

conclusion, better just get license whether ur number of dogs exceed the allowed number....

it is only RM10 per dog per year....go MBPJ and get only....easy.....

just get it done lar....better be safe than sorry....

a muslim man can only have more than 1 wife (not necessarily 4) if he is capable of being equal... this is the option that been given to them to avoid any 'improper' relationship... and that comes with HUGE responsibilty... even they are allowed to do so... there so many rules and regulation that need to be followed... otherwise it's a BIG SINS... that's why not every man is able to have more than 1 wife...

i admit that sometimes there are few men are taking advantage of this... and some is still cheating even have more than 1 wife... but human is human right... most of them tend to break the rules... that's why GOD created heaven and hell...

sory for outtopic..i drop here just to explain..bcause maybe there is some missunderstanding..and for muslims, its our responsibility to explain to all people about our religion..
whats arraille explain is right..the four wives issue has its own disscussion in our religious law...one who want to have four, have to fullfill many condition or syarat2...e.g justice,have kemampuan to support four wives..and so on..
intrepetation of the holy Quran: " you can married woman that you want two, three or four..but if you you cannot do the justice between them, one is enough.."

and dog in our religion actually is a sensitive issue... it is not good to compare like that..many of us know Muslim when touch dog..have to wash seven time, one of it with air tanah..but it doesnt mean Muslims can do bad thing on dog...dog also like other creature must be respected..must not be neglected...the prophet told us story about a man who enter the paradise just because he help a thirsty dog to get water..

i hope the condition will be peace forever here...

they broke into da house n killed all da dogs wif the owner's sister looking.

like the stray dog that went into a government school(not sure what state)..
it DIDNT harm ANYONE.
it was friendly to the students,yet the headmistress called the council to shoot the dog in plain sight(in the school compound,in front of the students)

IMO,"4 mistresses or 4 wives" is the "modern" way of looking at it.
most(read again: MOST) men today see women as sex objects.
and they see the "men are allowed to marry up to 4 wives" as an excuse to have more sex-legally.

which is wrong.
Islam did not allow men to marry up to 4 wives just so they can satisfy their sexual lust,it is brought down so that the men can look after women who have lost their husbands due to war/other reasons.

Well, I'm also against the rules... I have 3 dogs... used to have 4... anyway, the best is registering 2 under your address, and 2 someone elses... That's the best.

The license in a way is just a safety precaution when your dog accidentally strays away or so happen the authorities pass by your house.... they do not have the power to shoot the dogs unless they are aggressive.

As what I know, the local city council does not order their officers to go around gunning down dogs. Even if stray also they round them up with ropes and bring them to the local pound. SPCA is not a pound, it is a shelter.

Firstly, the council will only go to your house to see your dogs if you have a neighbour that complains. Once complains, the council will send an officer or 2 to have a look see and speak to you. A fine would than be given and also a warning for you to get rid of the dogs... normally a timespan in like a week or 2... if you fail to take away the extra dogs, they will give you another fine and warning.... if all fails, they will confiscate your dogs(rarely happens).... So if you do get a warning, best to take your dogs to a relatives place and let them hide out for about 2 weeks before bringing them back.

So far, this only happens when neighbours complain to local city council.

Yes, that is quite right. Why they limit the dogs is because there are many irresponsible people keeping not for pets but for watchdogs.... imagine 4 dogs barking outside, can pengsan LOL....

But another reason is the right space for dogs. The rule is not set by the council without research. Sometimes the compound is only suitable for 2 dogs but keeping four, the dogs can't really move about easily and may have a boring life without much space to play and explore.... so that is another reason bout the limit.

in taiping there's a kind lady taking care of many stray dogs..i believe there are more than 100 dogs in her compound..

No... coz her dogs are not in a housing estate but an empty land. Her place has no one staying but only her. The dogs are strays that are dumped at her doorstep and she has little money to keep every dog but she tries. She doesn't need a license coz she is doing a good cause, also not a housing estate and no neighbours to complain. If I live on a farm with no houses around me, what for have a license?
