QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Sep 21 2018, 08:50 PM) Yes, that is also my understanding. But urban legend say once issued then automatically taxed. I think customs don't know some banks offer cards in pairs and we only need one. Maybe the next revision will be more specific or maybe they don't care since not using the card. |

Ahhhh I think this is where the confusion started.
https://www.mysst.customs.gov.my/assets/doc...arge%20Card.pdf 16. Service tax shall be imposed on the date of issuance or renewal of the credit card or charge card or on every twelve months after the date the card is issued or renewed. There are three methods for the imposition of service tax: (i) New card issued with a validity period for 1 year Service tax shall be imposed on the date the card is issued This is NOT the gazetted one though. Citibank's also said the same : https://www.citibank.com.my/global_docs/pdf...dServiceTaxHOME I think we should move to the SST Thread instead of this one. QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 24 2018, 08:03 PM) For first time application, Quantum cards need to be applied as a pair, if mine is so lucky and get approved later, I must pay SST for both right? If you're not into Departmental and Entertainment, you can try not to activate the Visa loh. But if you're after the promotional gifts, then you need to spend on both, so have to activate both.In case you don't know, Signature is not part of the promo. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 26 2018, 05:09 PM) That was quick. Submitted to RP on Monday's evening, simply called to PBB Hotline to check status. Keyed in IC and it said "application unsuccessful". Where got so fast. Few moons ago I apply also more than 2 weeks. Exception was pre-SST when I asked for additional card. |

QUOTE(stevenkkh @ Sep 28 2018, 11:13 AM) Great then, maybe we will see who manage to get back this kind of cash back dispute. I've also been thinking the same thing. What I think is, the contest is to get people to spend, not transfer money to somewhere else. So maybe they close a blind eye when the volume is low. When too many people doing it, they exercise the rights they reserved. Or, when everyone starts calling in about BigPay, it alerts their management as well. After that, cannot even entitle for the 5% 6% online transaction. 21 days notice is all it takes right? If I know I'm looting from the bank, I will just keep quiet. If this is those mandatory cash back as the fixed 6% cash back, yes, you can dispute but this kind of contest based cash back is hard to proof anything. Who will go admit this kind of mistake if you can denied this so easily? They can even outlaw BP in their clause easily. This is like a contest style cash back. But of course, it could have been some mistake at their end. Given the opportunity from the legal perspective, I think paying bills online also they don't want to give the 5%/6% cash back. Maybe they're stuck with their own T&C. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Sep 28 2018, 02:15 PM |

QUOTE(stevenkkh @ Sep 28 2018, 08:28 PM) Thinking is it possible to make transaction after 12 am of the Monday then for almost certainty to get. It is possible. The reason they're not doing it is because some payment gateways are in Europe/US. The transaction time will be based on the server's local time, so it becomes Sunday. |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Sep 29 2018, 02:58 PM) MBB is pretty strict too in my experience. Currently 3 times for me, but I apply for CL increase yearly and its only a small amount each time. thanks for sharing this. Was about to ask about this.CIMB, HLB, SCB, CITI and HSBC for me were outrageously high. I'm kinda new with multiple cards. In the past, only holding at most 2 and from the same bank. Public Bank is below 3x salary. Citibank exactly 3x salary. CIMB exactly 3x salary (from 10+ years ago, did not ask for credit limit increase, and only tried to ask for reduction so bro aniki, if you're reading this, I just got the additional cards this week to know the credit limit better. I couldn't find the thread that you shared yours to reply to. |

QUOTE(BIGPAY ABUSER BENJAMIN @ Sep 29 2018, 01:32 PM) I've dealt with Public Bank's credit card services in a major city for the first time and eventually had to call BNM on them due to lack of communication either through their 1-800 credit card hotline, their customer service hotline, and branch hotline. Their 1-800 number rings an uneven number of times, making me suspect there's someone hanging up on me. I reported a particular branch and plan to go there to apply for another credit card. You can use a friend's phone to call and see if you run into the same problem.Have anyone ever faced retaliation from a bank branch for forcing them to address your concerns via BNM? |

QUOTE(David83 @ Sep 29 2018, 07:07 PM) Sorry about this but when your hire purchase is approved, won't that degrade your criteria even though you met the income requirement, clean CCRIS and complete documentation? Not necessary. It can also mean the bank finds it credit worthy to give the hire purchase loan, and is also giving business to the bank. You help me I help you lah.Someone I know who owes a bank lots of housing loan gets free credit card, while I get bupkis with 3 moons salary slip with some FD. Bank told me loan gives them business. FD takes money from them. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Sep 29 2018, 07:20 PM |

QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Sep 29 2018, 06:48 PM) why afraid of BNM, i suppose they one in charge doesn't want any trouble with BNM or difficult customers. We don't know what happens behind the scene. Can just assume, if Bank Negara looks into the complaint, there will be extra work for the bank and involves execs at higher level. Then these execs start looking into the reason etc etc, and heads of the people who caused the problem might roll. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Sep 29 2018, 08:29 PM |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Oct 1 2018, 06:57 PM) There must be a reason that "(DGP)" disappeared since Wk5 and long delay to release CB for Wk6 onwards. hehe. Hadn't you guys notice? Banks are fast in taking your money but slow in giving you money. They don't need this long to charge you SST. I'm referring to every bank, not Public Bank. When it comes to cash back and goodies, you slow slow wait la. |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Oct 2 2018, 10:12 AM) Not an issue. Quite common I wait 3-9 months for the rebates/prizes. PB can give in less than 2 months, I appreciate. wahhhh so long?Ummm yeah, Public Bank considered more efficient than a lot of other banks already. But of course, they could've been as efficient in giving vs billing for SST |

QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Oct 3 2018, 11:00 AM) What I can say, maybe my email that cc to BNM got their higher level management team to further re-evaluating my cc application. Maybe they look deeply on my application and still can approve it. Just normal email I sent only. From my experience and my own opinion, the people who process applications don't really care. How did I find out? I wrote something in the email, and they ask me the same question again. And some don't even know how to read my payslips. So they ask for more supporting documents. So what my friend told me in the past is true. When their higher level is involved, it put their competency at stake. Especially when you can justify everything, it'll make them incompetent in front of their superior. And of course, if Bank 1Negara start questioning top execs, more people will get grilled. But I didn't have such problem with Public Bank. Maybe me application went through because I was holding only 1 card at that time. p/s : If you read the application form carefully, some banks require only 1 supporting document. Some needs only 1-3 moons payslip but they conveniently ask for 6 moons payslip, EPF la, EA form la. QUOTE(cybpsych @ Oct 3 2018, 11:12 AM) Hehe that's something I was always curious but never dare to click. But I think it should list out your available cards instead of killing them off all at one shot. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Oct 3 2018, 11:16 AM |

QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Oct 3 2018, 01:13 PM) Everyday doing the same thing, bored right? Like when small CS saw the email CC-ed BNM. So better tell this to the higher level. Ofcoz if higher level involves, they will ask to review back. Sure, the PIC will check more carefully. According to my friend, they couldn't care less because they don't get a share in the commission ps: I just submit 3months latest payslip only this time. No other leceh documents. I think 3 moons should be fine. I remember Public Bank's application form says A or B or C, and they are sticking to it unlike some other banks. Citibank is also sticking to what they asked for, at least, the online application is. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Oct 3 2018, 01:28 PM |

So far I see banks are starting to charge for credit cards and loan repayments only. Not savings.
CIMB starts charging for card in Dec, though I'm not aware of any charges if you bank in money into savings. RHB already started, in July if I don't have a memory leak. Interesting, I just saw CIMB's site saying no charges if pay using ATM machines (https://www.cimbislamic.com.my/content/cimbconsumerislamic/en/personal/press-releases/promotions/general/cimb-epayment-campaign-2018.html). One thing for sure, people not senior enough for the waiver and not computer literate are having a hard time. Money made can be used to finance better cash back though Oh yeah, I'm already enjoying the free Instant Transfer. I hope the freebie will last.
