how long to get the RM288 Shopee vcr code?
already spent more than 150 on both Quantum Cards but still getting no update at all after 2 month....
*
Mine came same day as my statement after I hit 150 each. Did you SMS to register and choose shoppee?

If you didn't SMS, it's over 2 moons now. T&C says 2 moons. Have to beg customer support to help.

This one is which one?

Sorry, I did not quote because I replied directly to the previous post.

The screenshot that says for PB card members. Apply new card, spend 200 and get 100 cash back. But it's by invitation as mentioned. Not everyone gets.

Edit : arghh I just read the fine print. New members only.

I'm sorry.
May I ask what is the logic of doing this?
AmBank is very famous with this kind of BT strategy!

Haha. I'm quite sure they know how to make some good money out of this.

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Sep 14 2018, 10:03 AM)
RM37200 / 36 = RM1133.33
RM 30k @ 4% p.a. FD/CASA, reducing by RM1133.33 -> You will earn RM1501
Note 9 -> RM3599

So you lose 7200-1501-3599 = RM2100 only.

But how many PB cardholders' credit limit > RM 37500 ?  rclxub.gif
*
I'm still trying to familiarize myself with the non-0% rate balance transfer. So correct me if I get this wrong.

When you pay $1133.33 a moon as instalment, you're already paying principal and interest for 3 years on the very first moon. Whereas for FD, even if you get the monthly interest, your principal is locked until the end of the period. I think this is what they call Effective Interest Rate. I remember I saw RHB's site also giving some BT around 4% but mention the EIR is around 15%.

BT / personal loan,  similar to car loan - initial balance.
FD, similar to housing loan - reducing balance.

Thanks bro. Let me count count later and see how much difference. Because I'm just thinking from the principal amount perspective. Like you do 12k BT for 1 year. First month have to pay 1k already but interest still 4%. So we're actually "losing" interest more than 4%.

That's weird, i saw there's a weird Authorized charges on my Quantum Master at Rm2,181.61 !??

I check only using my PBE online account.
No notification on sms

Calling PBB now
*
This is scary. The other day someone in HSBC subforum also got charged for Google something. MYR40, not as big as this.

If I keep seeing this, think I'll just deactivate the Card-Not-Present feature and only activate when I need it.

Edit : Drafting response before your response came in, so didn't see.

This is my calculation. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

RM37200 / 36 = RM1033.33333333
FD multiplier @ 4.3% per annum = 1+[0.043/12] = 1.003583333 (assume banks accept 1k for the 4.x% promo and pay interest on a monthly basis)
Number of months = 36, 35, 34, ..., 2, 1

Month 1 = 1033.3333333 x 1.003583333^36 = RM1175.34
Month 2 = 1033.3333333 x 1.003583333^35 = RM1171.14
Month 3 = 1033.3333333 x 1.003583333^34 = RM1166.96
.....
Month 35 = 1033.3333333 x 1.003583333^2 = RM1040.75
Month 36 = 1033.3333333 x 1.003583333^1 = RM1037.04

Total I get is : RM39772.36 from placing 1033.3333 into 4.3% FD (in theory. I know minimum deposit is normally 10k) every month for 36 months. Extra 2.5k.

At the end of the day, I think banks would cash in the fat interest when people miss out some payments.

Or assume I'm the bank and I have 10 of such customers. I just round up the phone price for easier calculation.

I invest 10 x (30000+3600) = 336000

If put into FD of another bank for 3 years, I get : 336000 x (1.043^3) = 381234.
If I do this promo, I get : RM397723.60

For simplicity, I don't count the interest some banks are paying on a monthly basis that can be used to generate more $.

Even if my calculation is wrong, I think you and other experts should get my point. For the first installment, you're already paying the entire year's interest despite loaning the money for 1 month, and so on.

I'm sure banks have some warez to calculate this instead of cracking their heads like me. Perhaps it's as simple as https://loanstreet.com.my/calculator/calcul...ective_interest ?

Monthly Installment Amount RM 1,033.33
Total Payment RM 37,200.00
Effective Interest Rate p.a. 14.55 %

At least PB cancelled off the GST charges along. I looky see a friend's Astro bill with SST, the $3 paper bill was rebated but still need to pay 20 cents for the SST portion of the paper bill. Don't know what happened with GST back then.

To be clear, I'm just referring to the paper bill's charges, not the Astro charges.

So I just received Quantum, and then while I was doing weekly exercise... I charged to QV but using QM's 3 digit code and still can send SMS to me :S... BP don't check for this?
*
What type of exercise that charges to QV? I thought people don't exercise that way - as in, they exercise to QM.

Is it showing up under your Authorised Charges ? If it's not, would be interesting to see what happens next. E.g. free money from Tony, or gets reverted later.

I don't think it's BP that does the 3 digit CVV2 validation. It should be the gateway that processes your card, for example, migs.mastercard.com.au.

They have a PDPA form that you need to sign whenever you sign up for something new. That's where you can choose not to receive calls from them. I've turned down so many times that they remember my choice.

I think the ideal solution is to call customs and ask, followed by an email for black and white. Have to explain to customs that some offers require to apply for 2 cards at once but we only need one. See what they say. Think I'll drop them an email when I have the time.

You guys will have to do yourself as well, as I don't think you can use my mail and send to your bank, assuming that they say upon activation.

anyone got experience topping up BigPay with newly applied and approved principal quantum card (RM150 for mastercard and RM150 for visa card) is eligible to participate for the “Apply Now for PB Card & Take Your Choice Home" campaign?

I saw the TNC stated quasi cash is not counted for the RM150. Although public bank treat BigPay as online transaction for monthly cashback and “Spend Now 4 More Cash Back” campaign, I want to double confirm for this “Apply Now for PB Card & Take Your Choice Home" campaign whether is the same.

Thanks in advanced.
*
Just out of curiosity, you know that BigPay is online transaction, and know it works for Spend 4 More, are you holding any Public Bank cards? The campaign says New-To-Bank Principal Cardmember.

ahhhh ok.

If you couldn't get any answers, you can do some tests. T&C says you must spend $150 on each card within 60 days. Test it out with BP within the first 30 days. If you don't receive any SMS for the goodies, spend on real retail on the next 30 days (don't wait until the last minute - T&C says 60 days from approval).

Today i asked my branch just for the sake of asking. Normally their credit limit is lower than other banks. Haha. No wonder I got less than 3x my pay. Not that it matters. 2-3k also enough for me.

if you don't activate the card, you won't get the statement and hence they are unable to charge SST onto it.
i got RM40k
*
Technically speaking, if you have cards from other banks applied around the same time or later, the limit should be more than 40k. Right?

Seems like no one is sure if SST is charged without activation. Some yes some no. I'll give a try on the next Maybank2me acquisition and monitor the bill online. Eyeing on the amex but not the visa/master that comes with it.
