No they dont, truth is, it only matters after they lay a backbone.
Lets say you're in a streamyx area, you have 30 would be subscribers to unifi who are current streamyx users, but there is no backbone/fiber equipment to the area required for unifi. Verdict: TM will not care.

If your area just got a backbone/fiber equipment  for unifi, but from the exchange to your housing area is not wired yet but you have 30 people interested, TM will wire in about 3-9 months.

So in conclusion it doesnt do a thing. Unless however there is great demand in the greater area TM will not expand unifi and the reasons are 2 fold. First is TM's own internal politics play, they dont care about their customers only their image, 2nd is the local councils delaying TM, either with their crazy chargers/requirements or something else that both parties not satisfied with.

Being a current TM customer is far worse than being a new TM customer, its how they keep you in contract. You gotta stop, then go get it again just to get the best offers. Astro/maxis is even worse in this regard though.

Good explanation though.
Is it weird if few lorong away from us got unifi while we still dont have the coverage?

Digi infinite 150 with huawei b618?

From my experience, DiGi throttles between 7PM-1AM so you'll get less than 1 Mbps download, especially in city areas. Sometimes the throttling happens randomly even outside those hours. It's so weird when my modem says I'm on 5 bar 4G+, but the speed is like using a dial up modem in the 90s biggrin.gif

If you don't experience that throttling now with their service, eventually you will ... probably 2 or 3 months after you've subscribed.

I know this as I stream a lot from Twitch and sometimes YouTube. I don't torrent or P2P, so not sure if they throttle those too.

not weird, basically means they didnt wire your street to the cabinet. But since unifi is already in your area, you can get some signatures and go to TM to get unifi. Or you can set up a p2p wifi with one of the nearby houses using a 10KM capable 2 channel wifi ac p2p setup and ask one of the houses with unifi, you subscribe your own, modem stay at their house with one wifi point, and align to your house.

It's just 50m-100m from here. Already call TM support,
they said within 14 days there will be an upgrade in process.
Can totally believe it or not?

but they didnt say they would be covering your area, they were talking about the unifi upgrade, not the coverage improvement.

Final update: I managed to hand in the demand list (petition) of my housing area, MP support letter, official demand letter, goggle map highlighted area, excel spreadsheet of contact list and address.

The meeting with the manager was good and short. She was nice overall. Had to take early off time from workplace before lunch hour and it pays off. She told me my letter is complete and she will put my case in her next meeting agenda. An overall thumbs up. A site survey will be conducted to see if unifi is good to deploy. Most people in our town usually who do demand form are higher up people in ministry/politic/tan sir/businessman or big companies with government ties. She didn’t hide that facts. She glad I approached this way. I will follow up every 4 months now since I got her email/WhatsApp contact. Sign off for now. Hopefully this thread help for those need to kick out their streamyx. Can’t wait to join unifi elite class club and get my website running. Say no to peasants streamyx 🤣🤣🤣🤣

And I will take the 100mbps so that the shitty neighbors who didn’t show interest will left with no port. And cry on social media for next 5 years.

I be here in 4 months time. Peace out ✌️.

Any update for us bro? U successful to get unifi to your place?

Trust me, most of the time, the resources are fully available. But what causes the problem are not resource but human issue. I've been to some projects implementation that's under government before. Throughout the entire meeting, i've seen pple who attended the meeting with an empty brain. Only when the meeting is coming to an end, they would suddenly jump out to ask silly questions that they should be aware before they attend the meeting. Silly questions such as what type of cable they're using , are they realiable and who's the contact person. Well, with all given resources and quotations, these are basically the prerequisite that folks who before attended the meeting has to study well. Not ask these kind of dumb questions during the meeting. And there are also unseen questions that are not addresses beforehand too. No surveys and no checks to ensure that the meeting is about discussing importance of the projects and to deliver the project on time. It's usually delay a few times until a few months later or perhaps few years. You'll basically vomit blood judging the performance of these staffs representatives.

After years of complaining, finally TM going to setup a booth in my area (with all landed houses) to collect demand tomorrow... what is the success rate of getting UNIFI coverage if they willing to set up a booth here?

If I am not mistaken, the success rate is 34% of people living in the same or very nearby road and minimum application must be 20 to 30 people.

If let say your specific road got 100 house. And along that road, got 34 application, they will consider. If less, they won't entertain.

And let say your area got 34 application out of 100 house, but it is scattered all over different road, they won't entertain.

This is based on my case, there are more than 10 road in my neighborhood, but only in my road the demand for unifi is concentrated (34% more), so they consider my road only.

But of coz, each Case is specific up to TM discretionary, however in common, that's how TM are deciding.

I just filled in the demand list. The person in charge said they target to get 80 signatures and they will implement for the whole residential area by October this year. Hopefully they get enough applicants to sign up.
