I guess is the sign of weak starter. Just price to replace is not cheap. I call up Proton RM530. If refurbish out side shop is RM130 to RM290. Still wonder which 1 to choose or just leave it until become worse.

Just worry sudden can't crank then problem.
*
If financial ok then can do preventive maintenance. If not can use until cannot use then tow. Anyway try to use new one, either OEM or original. i typically avoid recon parts.

Didn't do any alignment today tho. Just put on machine, see the reading all within spec. Test drive also nothing. Really weird.  blink.gif
Nah don't worry. It has been like this for years on my car. Just roll with it.

Then maybe the tyre pressure lari only.

If anyone need a new meter for Auto Non ABS Persona/Gen2, I think I'm selling mine. PW855505. New-ish with about 250km on odometer. Used for a week.

Why? Because this new meter acting weird with my car. Mornings when the engine cold, the fuel meter refuses to move. Fuel meter will become normal after drive the car few minutes and restart the engine. At times when turning the key to accessory mode, engine not started, the RPM meter moved a bit.

Currently I'm trying to return the meter to the seller, but I don't think guy would accept the return. Waiting for the seller to confirm with the supplier because usually these part don't come with warranty.

I really don't know if the problem is with the meter or my car. Because as the seller said, this is the first time a new meter doesn't work right. Now I'm using my old meter that was repaired 2nd time - and the repair guy said, this is also his first time customer return to him for 2nd round meter repair.

Sorry to heard about this bro.

Could it be wiring harness problem?

No idea. Without a second car to test the new meter, can't say.

What's more puzzling that it only happen during cold start in the morning.  hmm.gif

I have my suspicion that the seller might sell a known lemon unit to me, the meter have 4km on odometer when installed. But by the looks of it, the guy also surprised to see that 4km.  hmm.gif
*
Actually one way to rule out problem related to meter is via OBD meter. The problem is no one can be of sure those bluetooth dongle is compatible with your 16 bit ECU or not.

Once your reading on digital meter is confirmed normal, then you can be sure you got a wonky unit of meter already.

Planning to get a K&N filter, or Simota/Works if it's no difference.

Anyone has experience with it? I'm actually looking at filtration efficiency only. Not any performance boost. Will get a recharge kit if I'm buying.

The issue is original and good OEM branded filter like GEP is hard to find currently. The one i manage to find in hardware store has less pleats than the current GEP filter im using. When buy through Shopee, i got 2 cancelled order because out of stock.

What is the cost for the brake switch?
Just realized all my brakes light not working, want to go fast fast change else later kena kiss from behind especially during raining season.
*
Not really expensive and relatively easy to change. When your brake switch spoil your check engine light will turn on. Might need to bring to shop to clear code after you change it.

hai all,

i lost both key... what i need to do??  and cost??
*
Report police and find locksmith to open, install new set of key barrel for ignition switch, door, and boot; then programme new immobilizer chip back. All can be done by locksmith.

new secondhand persona user here. persona auto 2007/08. may i know where good workshop/sparepart here in melaka? got a lot wear and tear. recently just change front stabilizier link rm150, drive shaft oil seal left/right rm130, engine gearbox rm180 5L. is it standard price?
*
If there's a lot of wear and tear, i suggest buy own part and bring to shop for replacement. They'll charge you more for parts if you use theirs because they need to provide you warranty. I got quite a lot of wear and tear to replace this round so i checked with my workshop is that ok i bring my own parts. They're ok with it and will charge workmanship accordingly. Do check with their consent just to keep hard feelings away.

can u suggest what brand/shop/shopee/lazada etc thats good? i check shopee, got mountingking etc, is it good? will ask for their consent later on when go there
*
There's a lot of ok brand of aftermarket parts but no brand has it all. But you always can check with your local spare part shop because they won't keep poor quality parts as they need to offer warranty. One thing i never understood is why original proton parts don't comes with warranty.

One thing you need to beware is those parts that requires skilled installer to install, for example timing belt set. These type of parts is very difficult to pin point whose fault when claiming warranty; where the workshop might blame you for bringing poor quality part and spare part shop blames your mechanic don't know how to install and damage the item. For this i suggest just let the workshop earn the mark up.

nope didn't work, last time rainy season happened before the beep beep sound suddenly came back.
Now just completely gone.
*
Then need to check for wiring shorts, or simply failed beeper. If not mistaken it's located near wiper motor under engine bay hood. Near firewall of front passenger side.

The led keep blinking on my persona sv, tried to turn ignition on, press alarm reset button on center console, the light went off initially, car can be started normally... However, when I want to turn off and lock the car, the light on the dashboard blink again... I can't lock the car using the remote.. Anyone can help?
*
If door or boot didn't close properly it'll be like this. Can check at shop is it door switch or your alarm system problem.

One thing i notice for Persona is if battery going out soon, alarm system will be the first one to show sign by having all unexpected problem. Do check on your battery-alternator system if the battery has never been changed for past 2 years.

Urs memang since last time it won't light up right? Meaning if we lock the car with alarm d, we open the boot manually with key, the car alarm won't trigger?
*
I can't recall bro. Because my boy lock barrel kong. The only way to open boot is from driver side pull tab.

QUOTE(dannyw @ Jan 9 2023, 12:47 PM)
Thanks. Problem is, when i drive out, before reach junction already can't hear. That's why can't show to foreman.
I did suspect water pump bearing or tensional, but during last few months changing timing belt all no problem. But this sound is there been years already, just last few day a bit loud, today seems normal. (Means if close door and window is up almost won't notice.)
*
After you open engine hood can you locate the sound origin?
