My Gen2 original size memang 195/55/R15, but why you want to downsized to this? Persona was higher and shock absorber were different right?
*
Yeah. Original persona is higher and more comfort. But 195/60/15 doesn't have many tyre options to try for. Thinking to try more premium tyre whenever allows.

Probably the best all rounder donut in our size spectrum. Exploring others as quite pricey.

Actually nowadays 15" very less premium touring or sporty option, you see those Michelin PS4 PS5, Continental MC7, no longer available for 15". Only budget or eco tyre available... Sad
*
Yeah, hence the question of exploring 55 profile tyre. I'll just see what options i have then decide.

Thanks guys.

Overhaul done. My case shows that with as much as humanely possibble care, Campro can last about 600,000km before you need a thorough rebuilt, including changes of all 3 major shafts, new piston rings, new valve shims, new cover, engine sensors, and coolant pipings plus water pump. Edit to add on catalytic converter. A second handed one.

Maybe coil going bad?
*
On 2 new coils from workshop, and 2 new OEM coils from sparepart shop.

Unable to determine which coil is the inferior one. Maybe I'll multimeter test them later to check on resistance.

Update: Coil seems to be ok. No money and energy to keep it at 100% health already so just drive it as per usual.

When changing gear from reverse to neutral Do we need to push the knob?
Mine seems empty when I try press
And shift down easily from reverse to n.

I dont think I have this issue previously.

Just came back from flywheel and filter replacement of gb
*
In my auto car, you don't need to press the shift button to shift to N from R, although moving into R from N need the button to be pressed.

If your shifting can move from N to R without pressing the button, then you definitely need to check for fault with your mechanic that worked on your gearbox.

Hi all, would like to seek your feedback.

My wifes persona start leaking atf oil recently (refer visual, the whole thing looks shiny due oil leak)

Brought to a local workshop, the guy just said leaking. Have to send to gearbox specialist to remove the whole thing and replace it which cost est rm2 - 3k.
*
Don't have an AT car, so cannot comment to much on the price. But hardly heard need to replace gearbox just because of leaking la... Usually it's due to internal wear too much then need to rebuilt or repair the plates. Maybe you need to seek second opinion to have a fair deal. Doesn't sound right to me.

How is your weekend?

Want to ask if any of you thinking of ever giving up on this car?
Mine works great, just did top cover gasket replacement, new spark plugs, new rear brakes and pump, total include labor RM550...

The car looks beaten - its an 18 years old car, base model without ABS, but it drives like a dream. Can't think a reason to give up on this car and buy something new.
*
Yeah. Especially when had problem that no one can get it diagnosed years ago. But once it runs fine & dandy, it's a solid workhorse. The worst problem we can have on this car is wiring issue, which very difficult for us to find a wireman to diagnose, check and repair the faulty electrical issue.

Carsome quoted me my B-Line MT for RM1,200. That just make me feel like if nothing wrong then I'll just keep it as spare car.

So for me, maybe the only valid reason that makes selling old persona is i need the parking space, or there's some problem that i cannot fix.

Planning to buy skirts and give it a fresh coat of paint when my finance allows it. If anyone here did it before, do let me know what i need to pay attention to lah.

Any OBD scanner that works for old persona?
*
I'm using an old OBDLINX LX. Now should got a newer version that supports two way testing. Will two way testing works on Persona or not i have no idea.

Thinkcar series i think support that function in certain models. But last time i checked the original one requires subscription for all car models, or one time payment for specific car model. You can explore.

If you decided to move to the clone path, i suppose no harm trying since it's so cheap. I tried and it doesn't work on my phone app years ago. Maybe now it will be different.

hi....my persona elegance has water leaking at passenger site under dashboard...may i know what is the actual problem? could be related to aircond?

If you parked your car in safe place, you can on the air cond and try to get a view from outside car via opened door of front passenger seat. Space below dashboard of persona is not covered.

just wonder...it is better to repaint or wrap on my persona? current car paint already not look good due to malaysia weather & need new paint...

based on my survey on several shop on my area at bangi the cost of repaint & wrap not really have much difference...
*
Paint usually last longer. I would tend to side with paint. But both are equally painful to wallet.
