Weird sound from my intake now, sent to workshop this morning and the mechanic confirmed me that the unit need to be replace or repair. But he suggested me to look around the KV as the price in Melaka is pretty expensive. Even the china made also at rm500+.
wooo...

You might want to check with Zordaq see if they got kawan in Melaka knows how to fix IAFM. If your IAFM shaft not yet broken then still can repair punya.

Worst case is to visit their KL outlet for the fix. Zordaq JB charged me RM50 for the repair.

I see thanks, I read a workshop in Melaka do provide the IAFM services, but they haven't reply my message yet. The shop name is Dori's btw.

Do check on do they repair the valve or they remove it. Some workshop eliminate the noise by removing the valve, so you going to have no IAFM for your low RPM fuel savings. Zordaq's way of fixing is add a washer-like tube to stabilize IAFM shaft so it won't rattle.

My gut feeling is intermittently failed fuel pump. Just blind guessing. Have your technician check beyond electrical and intake controlling system?

the mechanic just replied to my msg just now, he confirmed that they will do mod/upgrade on the shaft component itself, removing the butterfly is not a good thing to do as it will effect the performance and fuel efficiency depending on the condition of the car. The price quoted is rm180, not very sure if the price labour charges included. But anyway, still cheaper than few workshop offer me around rm300 to up than rm500.

Ah I see.. thanks for the education!

saw its leaking from the host..my damage was quite severe..i hv to changed the power steering motor as well..last month change compressor, this month power steering pump..after this need to replace the belt tensioner..haish too much edi..
*
Bro, may i know how long you've had your belt tensioner?

Mine screeching early morning even thought it's just about 15,000 km long only. Zordaq used the CFE tensioner on mine citing the thicker shaft of CFE tensioner makes it more lasak.

Don't know is isolated case or not but i got a bit regret going for CFE tensioner.

My previous tensioner also start giving noise around that mileage. But still can last until 80k km and change with timing belt.

Done with fixing the IAFM this afternoon, the mechanic gave some brief explanation about the sound. In my case I have the taktak and another is rattle sound. The culprit is the valve that hold the IAFM shaft inside. Modification done with the valve without removing the whole intake. Now I feel so relieve, no more sewing machine and rat sound from there.
*
Cheers bro! Happy for you! Once the noise settle you got the new car feel again! 😋

My aircond guy friend said the life span of both motor is more or less the same. Do if one spoil already, he'll recommend owner to change one shot both to avoid near future problem for long distance driver like me. I clock about 5000km every one and half month.

Long lasting beep is light not turned off.
Beep beep beep is key still left inside.

For my car i think the key hole wear and wear already, sometimes when i take out key already it thought key still inside and beeped.

guys...really need your help here.

my persona elegance...today morning wanted to drive to work...when open door find some strong smell inside car.

then found out got water leaking/ stagnant at the carpet.

took out the rubber mat...oh boy the mat was pretty wet with water dripping.

the worst is the driver side and the back of driver side.
the carpet floor for both driver and rear driver is really wet.

the passenger and rear passenger side  carpet floor is also wet but not as bad as the driver's side.
anyone here got any idea what is the cause?

is it the door rubber sealant or the plastic water shield behind the door panel?

or is it the undercarriage?

anyone can help me out here?

if one place wet i'm ok...but to have all 4 carpet wet at the same time...i'm really confused right now?  rclxub.gif

open door panel then spray water see if water leak from plastic weather sheet area, very very common there...
*
Agree with Voscar. But if you're not used to open up door panel and fix it, you can bring your car to your trusted mudguard shop and ask them check for you. Huge leak like yours should be easy to catch.

Hi guys,

Currently I'm driving 1st gen Persona
My current XM2 is dying soon. I'm looking for replacement. I'm quite an aggressive cornering/fast driver. I'm looking for something better like ps3 but this tyre doesn't have my size. Any other recommendation?
*
Saw that day Assurance Triplemax 2 launched. Might want to give it a try? Don't know on the performance part though.

I am finding that my aircond under the dash started to leak, is it easy to check the drain, I mean how hard to open and get to see the drain?
*
Not hard but need to Jack up the car to see if the drain pipe blocked or not.

8 years car, 341,018km and clocking. XD

QUOTE(delsoo @ Jan 9 2019, 08:21 AM)
yes , i found one lately , LM 10w40 molygen...  rclxms.gif The 5 means the viscosity under low temp, right ? Since i'm travelling on highway most of the time using this car, so it shouldnt be any problem if i am using 5w40 , right ?Since the engine will be hot most of the time...5w40 and 10w40 should gv the same protection , right ?  hmm.gif
*
The W in viscosity rating means winter. So it doesn't really matter to us in Malaysia. On the side note, IMHO the difference of fully vs semi for our car is the durability of oil base, as in resistance to deterioration. I use semi only because Proton once told me their oil filter is designed to change every 5,000km. So if i use fully, i still need to change oil filter every 5,000km and top up a bit of the oil lost during filter change. I guess there's no hard rule of what oil we use. Just we need to check on other parts that involve in engine oil function.

But the car manual say otherwise, engine oil can be change after 10k mileage.
*
Probably my PE 2011 not updated. I have checked both my manual and service booklet.

Owners manual only specify grade of engine oils recommended:

user posted image

Service booklet, however are more vague on service schedule:

First, they give recommendation of 10,000km service intervals:

user posted image

Then, they did not attach any fine print that's indicated by the asterisk icon. Which lead us to severe usage service schedule, with Proton reserving the rights to alter service schedule as they wish:

user posted image

Then they explicitly recommended 5,000 service interval for harsh driving usage:

By the way, delsoo bro. Found a diagram in user manual that you might want to consider to use back 10w40 oils.

QUOTE(delsoo @ Jan 9 2019, 05:45 PM)
ok , can you suggest some good oil filter that can last up to 10000km ? i am goin to use for fully synthetic oil  flex.gif
*
Seriously bro, I don't know. Been changing oil more or less 5k km since i got my car. But in real life a lot people don't care two hoots about the original filter 5k or 10k life when they use fully synthetic. I baby my car since I'm high mileage clocker. But at the end of the life of our car this might not make any difference kut...
