I have not talked about the Q10Pro in some time but wanted to get back to those who have asked me some questions.

I feel that the Q10Pro is pretty good as it does play back BDs, UHD BDs (iso and folders) with ease. With the auto frame rate patch/script I find that it does get it right.

What I don't quite like is the choice of colour space is not really as versatile. I believe this is more of an Android OS issue as most other boxes seem to get the same issues as this.

I hv compared it to the Oppo 203 (JB) version and I hv found that the images seem to be sharper and I believe its purely due to the conversion from YCbCr 4:2:0 to both RGB and YCbCr (4:2:2 or 4:4:4) is done better by the Oppo hence allowing slightly better images. There is some chroma resolution that is either converted wrongly or with some errors by the Android boxes. I don't have the correct patterns to back this up but will follow up with more info when I can.

I don't use Kodi or any apps, so the box is not really being used to the max by me.

just to add, i hv used q10pro for 2 years now.

yes, it is a good box, actually the best box for me.

.. primary use is playback of bdmvs with full menu and hd audio.
.. astrogo.
.. kodi quasar with path set to int hdd.
.. utorrent pro, path set to int hdd.

for u and what u play, i dun think u miss much with kodi... becos there isn't much high quality stuff u can get there reliably now, except with quasar.
lower quality streams for casual watching, u can easily find other simpler, less troublesome apps.

while q10pro with android7 is now very stable, i hope they come out with a new model 3/32gb android8 - that will be good for next 5 years.

q10pro/q5pro users....

i tried it.

can't say anything about other addons (becos i don't use them), but for Quasar, it is NOT working, get IO error).

and i don't think there is a working quasar addon yet.

so, i stick to 17.6 for now.

for me , as long it plays all my files properly I very happy liao

Have not been following Himedia threads for many months now. Saw this new V2 and screened through it to see if someone has raised and solved the problem I am facing now. Good to see many sifus here helping others.

I forgot what happened many months ago where I have to change to a new skin. Noted that since then I cannot use the go back menu functions. Few days ago, my Pro5 auto updated to Kodi 18. Now cannot use the up, down, right, left functions. Have to configure a tv remote device for these functions but some do not work.

Any solution to the "lost" go back, menu functions? Saw a thread stating to use del as go back and hold Ok as menu. Tried these, didnt work. These problems may be due to the firmwares. If so, hope these will be resolved soon.

Plan to get a new TV box once I replace my Tv (full HD only). Then I will get a 4K tv and a better TV box. Plan to get Himedia 10 Pro II. Where is this Pro 10 II in the TV box performance ranking, say Very Good, Good, Average, Poor, Very Poor?

need to remap the remote... not so difficult:
.. need mouse
.. settings/system/input/configure controller
.. choose tv remote
.. follow instructions: for each prompt, press the key on remote.
.. impt: ok (select) and return (back) functions are switched, so press correctly.
.. ok it, done.

Done that as I have mentioned earlier. Didnt work 100%, some functions still not working. Thus asked here for tips.

Please clarify what is meant by "switched"? Thanks.

it works, I already done it.

Do reset at mapping page b4 u try again.

For tv remote, only select, back, home, up, right, down,left keys.ignore home.

Select or ok on remote comes out back or return n vice versa, so u switch places when u press these 2 keys.

Make sure u click or press OK at page to confirm.

Exit, reenter.

No wonder when I pressed back, it went to home! Thus I said it was not 100% OK. Will try again.

P/S I guess cannot map "menu" function, right? Need that for using the Favourites to put all I use regular in 1 place.
