Anyway... TCL is an equivalent of Hisense

Both are China brands that more into low budget range of TVs

If you want higher quality TVs, better stick with Korean/Jap TVs

Wish lazada could bring model R617. Current best budget 4KTV in USA

TCL USA operates differently than TCL China / other regions.

They don't sell the same models of TV.

With that being said , none of the models they are selling in China and other region resemble the 6 series they are selling in USA .

Actually Hisense is selling high end TV

tats too bad, i see 6 series is doing very well in US

sometimes i have a thinking, like are those hisense or TCL or vivio are really lower quality then jap/kor.

says iphone, they spent to make good branding, and yet they are selling at a premium price. huawei also doing not bad, quality and hardware on pars to iphone, but selling at lower price

There's a reason for why they aren't selling them outside of USA .

TCL has been involved with lawsuit with other brands , because they were being accused of stealing technology ( They used to manufacture panels for the big brands )
Full Array Local Dimming of 128 zones at the price of 600 Us Dollars , that's almost a rob.

With that being said TCL 6 isn't flawless , the screen show minor artifacts @ 4k resolution . This has persists for several years already but it looks really difficult for them to fix.

There's also a major issue of uniformity , bandings / dirty screen effect in the current 6 series models which indicates poor Quality Control , heard someone has to send the TV back 5 times just to get a decent screen with good uniformity .



It isn't just about the quality . From what I see , the Hisense and TCL TVs have very solid designs and builds .

It is the experience they lack . Making TV requires advanced knowledge and experience into the technology .
Brands like Hisense is still relatively new in the international market , they just don't have a good grasp of what makes a great TV , yet.

Their high end TV may have matched the others in terms of specs and numbers , yet the TV is super unfriendly to calibrate , the out of box color accuracy is a disaster , the HDR EOTF tracking is all over the places , the remote is making distracting loud clicking sound which is bad for movies etc etc ....


They may rise on the top someday but that day is not now.

For people who just want to grab a functional TV screen to watch without breaking the bank , they still offer a watchable screen with some features.

i am looking for cheap small tv for homestay. found about TCL at lazada. 32"for around 500 with DVBT2. anyone can comment?

32" TV ? Maybe your will get very bad review for your homestay. I think it should be at least 40".

Sure boh. I see their demo TVs in Harvey Norman like Hi-lat only....

Homestay tak kisah lah. Janji ada TV and got HDMI port IN (for people who brings along their video games like me...i brought my Nintendo Switch to Korea).

i personally will stay away frm budget 4K TV, my budget 4k sharp felt extremely weird when watching movies which got those soap opera effect. drama still acceptable, and can get voice outta sync frm time to time.

bought TCL 43inch during 11.11.. after almost 1.5yrs, everything is good. anyway, TCL got 3yrs warranty & the technician will come on site for any repair works. should be okay
