Reply from BigPay below.

Chat started: 2019-03-06 04:46 AM UTC

(04:46:26 AM) acbc2k: I cannot pay to Lazada despite have enough balance. Twice in a row unable to order from them. Support from Lazada told to check with BigPay.

(04:46:37 AM) Yasmin: Hi, thank you for contacting Bigpay. My name is Yasmin!

(04:46:50 AM) Yasmin: Firstly please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you have faced, I truly understand your frustration on this matter.

Please note that Bigpay is not a bank issued card, hence its not accepted on LAZADA platform. At the moments, Shopee accepts debit/credit card issued in Malaysia and Singapore (bank card only) for security purposes.

(04:47:08 AM) Yasmin: It was fine back then, but right now Shopee, Lazada, ZALORA has tighten their security. Thus they are declining transaction from our card.

(04:49:29 AM) Yasmin: Every other online shopping still accepting Bigpay as long as they have Mastercards terminals.

And I thought I was th e only one having issue with Lazada. Customer service just ask me to change browser clean and clear cache. Like duh I always do that. And they brush it off as if is nothing.

Same issue with lazada again. Unable to proceed with payment if card save in Lazada. Delete card and re enter the card, transation went through. BP please buck up. If people can't use your cards at online shopping place, eventually no one will use your cards.

And your proof that the problem is on BigPay side is....  confused.gif

If something used to work and now doesn't work, the likelihood is that the issue is Lazada side (similar to Shopee).
*
BP customer service acknowledged it. Said they received similar reports from other user.

QUOTE(snow @ Mar 8 2019, 03:16 PM)
Just bought something from lazada (website) using bigpay without saving card info. No issue.
*
This is the only work around until Lazada close this hole or BP solve their issue with Lazada.

Good luck to BP if they want to win the e wallet race. By imposing lots of restrictions here and there it will only make people switch to a different provider. People won't use if there's no benefit to them.
If your CC can do the job, why bother with BP if they want to restrict here and there.

Shoutout to BigPayJonathan, be prepared to lose lots of customers and taking more losses if you decided to go down this path.

They are just trying to scare you. No issue top up and withdraw immediately. No need work around.
There were some reports people getting ban long time ago when there was no cc top up limit. Since the $10k/month limit I don't think any ban. It is a feature of the card to top up and withdraw. Though I suspect when a critical limit of enough bigpay user, they will want to monetize and will increase withdrawal fee.
*
That's true. So use it as long as it's free. When is not free anymore, that time maybe got other competitor already.

What withdrawal fee are you guys talking about?
The withdrawal isn't free at all.
RM 6 per withdrawal.
*
See all the fees mentioned and "waived until further notice?" These fees will be implemented once they get a bug enough customer. They gotta make make money some how. Right now they can't charge customer as by charging, it will make customer flee to another ewallet.

When BP becomes inchallengable, benefits will be reduced, like AirAsia.

True. Hopefully revolut or other companies can step in to be their competitor. The closest is revolut, youtrip and grab pay own card.

Never know. Revolut make the first step out of EU into SG. From SG if successful, they will look to expand.

That's what they said about Stashaway. But they came here.

QUOTE(MGM @ Mar 25 2019, 09:20 AM)
Is there any good SGD based card like BP where Malaysian can sign up n use?
*
Only two I can think of is Youtrip.

QUOTE(knwong @ Mar 25 2019, 09:24 AM)
With the same business model like BP = NO

Closest I found is MCO Visa Card. But quite complicated the product. Need to hold their MCO crypto currency.
*
Merchant Trade have one which works like BP except they don't accept CC yet.

today tried to test it to make a refuel at the station was declined. the card needs at least rm200 balance to have to make a refuel. lol
*
That's normal for all CC if you never key in any figure. If you go to counter and specify how much/type into the machine how much, you don't need RM200 minimum

sorry if this question's been asked before.

can top up account using overseas debit card then withdraw money at local atm?
*
Not worth as your bank will convert to RM and topup Bigpay. If you are using overseas debit card, suggest Revoult/transferwise. If you are SGrean, best would be YouTrip.

Idea of Bigpay is topup in RM, pay in overseas local currency without kena charge extra by banks.

thanks for the info. transferwise doesnt seem to have KRW.

my relative needs help withdrawing his money since he cant enter korea. not big amount, around 20-30k MYR.

checked on moneygram it costs 150 USD transfer fee. maybe it could be cheaper via bigpay since no need lose conversion two ways (KRW - USD - MYR)
*
Bigpay can only keep MYR10k.
You want to withdraw RM or Korean won?
Please write clearly.
If you have Malaysian bank account and korean bank account, maybe able to help you.

I think we should be able to top up bigpay using credit card issued by Singapore bank Right?
*
I assumed you are a Singaporean/work in Singapore.

Not worth as you will be converting SGD to RM at bank rate which is expensive.

Your choice if you want something like BigPay is
1) YouTrip (SG version of BP)
2) Be own money changer. Open Interactive broker account or their white labels (if you don't want to be hit with USD10/month charges), open DBS multiplier account with their visa debit card deposit SGD into interactive broker, convert via interactive broker at spot rate and withdraw to your DBS multiplier in the foreign currency you want, spend with your DBS Visa debit card. As long as you have foreign currency in DBS multiplier account, their visa debit card will always minus from that currency first then only deduct frim SGD. Eg. You have USD1000 inside, and you are spending USD100, USD100 will be deducted from your USD1000
3/ Wait for BP to expand to SG.

Very simple only. Make Lazada, shopee accept BigPay. Ridiculous when they can accept cc but not BigPay when both also Mastercard.
