Not much use for me since I already have a Visa & Mastercard credit card. I guess I'll probably only use it for AA and overseas spend.
*
If you plan ahead, since this card can be reloaded using another credit card you can earn cashback which otherwise you would not have gotten.

Tried asking BigPay when we would be getting our wave cards and this was their reply:
I dunno..this seems like a kick in the face to us early supporters. It's either we have to pay or we have to refer even more people before we can get the newer version of the card? I have been referring many people to BigPay but I guess that's not enough. If they want to impose a charge for wave cards they should do it for all BigPay users...this seems a bit unfair to early adopters.
*
Early supporters have already received the benefits from using BIgPay for a while now. I think the majority of readers here would have earned much more than RM20 from using BigPay, whether through referral, through cashback on reload with other cards (there's a reason the OP lists which cards have been reported to work) or through exchange rate benefit.

Some, like myself, have benefited from all 3, definitely more than RM20 worth each.

So it's simplistic to say 'kick in the face', especially with (in my opinion) unnecessary changes like paywave. I'd rather they charge for this than they charge for other things (like CC reload for which they're still subsidising us).

Sorry, I never go and find out the MCC. Let others advise you guys.
I know for e.g. SCB JOP doesn't give cash back for Boost but gives cash back for BP.
*
PBB as well. And more critical for Public Bank since you actually lose out by topping up Boost.

SCB JOP even if doesn't give cashback it still counts to the RM2.5k target right?

Topping up BP with JOP considered as online so entitled for CB. Top-up RM2500 for rm85 CB.
*
But that's not precisely how SCB JOP works, it's RM85 cap for 15% cashback. So you could reload RM 566.67 to BigPay and spend the remainig 1.933K somewhere else (for example Boost, even though it's not counted online). Or insurance bill, or pay your utilities, or buy yourself some items....

The whole 2.5k doesn't need to be in the 15% category.

Just tried topping up using Ambank WMC (2 times) and both failed after entering OTP. However I received Ambank notification that my card was charged twice.

Now not sure if the transactions went through (and will be credited later) or if they were really unsuccessful. Total amount was RM2700 so it's quite annoying as I need to book AA tickets, and topping up another 2700 may exceed my monthly 10k balance (if the original transactions were indeed successful). Too scared to try again.
*
I think it's useful to note that for urgent (e.g. chasing good AA ticket price) it's not a problem to top-up using bank transfer instead (no limit).

CC topup can be done at a different date (and then withdrawn) to give just about the same net benefit.

first question is there are few option to choose from where you want to withdraw your money in the atm screen after u put in the bigpay card
1) Saving acc
2) Current acc
3) Credit Card

Not sure which 1 to choose as i saw in v1 thread, some ppl say credit card and some ppl say saving acc.
*
I've selected credit card and it was successful. I think no harm whichever you choose as worst that can happen is error shown only.

what most of us are afraid of is with the error, it shows money deducted. will take a few days for them to correct it.
*
Fair point, but I'd assume people who are playing this sort of game (reload to withdraw) don't have serious cash flow issues, so wait a few days is still okay. Not ideal, but won't die la.

Used BigPay on shopee this morning 6+am. No problem, was able to add (ipay88 gateway) and then payment went through. But my mom only had one successful transaction on BigPay last week, then 4 times failed (same item).

Everyone got different tolerance for 'risk' and valuation of money or reliability or whatever.

But if you're losing sleep over missing frunds from online transaction (which tend to be smaller 2 digit amounts) then probably need to learn to relax. Life is too short to lose sleep over small things like that. Wake up then can start complaining again one.

don't commit never happen la laugh.gif just reduce the rate to very very low failure % rate is good enough.
*
hye is right in this respect, 'never happen' is the only possible standard financial institutions should be held to.

If transactions fail, then they should all the way fail (and it should be clear to user).

There should never be this 'did it go through' uncertainty where money deducted but payment not accepted (or money not deducted by payment accepted). The payment process should be atomic, because the fact is all the backend systems for financials ARE atomic, you cannot have money in two places at once.

true. glad that our complains was ‘loud’ enough for BP to do something about it. if everyone just accept things as it is, we’ll never progress. good job lowyat.
*
You think this thread so power meh? Pretty sure the complaints they got on FB and over the phone totally drown out the few posters here. Of course we would be most 'sensitive' to see things that are here, but CS team would see the whole picture.

No one can confirm for you as despite multiple.requests they havent provided explicit t&c for withdrawal limit. 3k should be okay but if you get barred no one gonna apologise to you later...

as long as i can pay with the same card, i don't care.
n they should fixed this issue rather than block user to buy others stuff while waiting for refund process.
*
You don't care until they block the 2nd account or block your CC permanently. Shopee not as lenient as Lazada to prevent abuse.

Most telco do not charge to receive SMS. Myself and family have done that across various Western European countries and in US, no charge.

10 attempts at topping up. Only 1 approved. And not the total amount that I intend to top up.
Seems like smaller amount worked, instead of topping up 3k in one transaction.

Did you hit the 10k limit per month?

mind to share the rate with us ?
*
At this point I think rates aren't important already, it's been pretty established that they just use xe.com rates on the transaction date to display, then on posting date to resolve. No charges at all

Previously (months ago) got report that one transaction go through even with not enough. Doubt it, that's a huge risk to BigPay.

bigpay is a prepaid card as opposed to an ewallet. there is no ewallet function as of now.
*
Uh.... this is wrong?

Clearly you can see the middle button of current app design is for payments. Not just split bill, you can scan QR (and show your QR) to easily transfer money to friends (and potentially merchants as well).

Of course I don't think BIgPay has run promos like the other ewallets to get merchants to use. If I'm a merchant and I have this account, why not?
