1. I've seen people reporting this before the latest version. So, if you're 1 version behind the latest version, you can still kena.
2. They said they got redirected. A redirect (HTTP/S 301/302/307) is done by the server. So I don't think the client version matters.

In my opinion, when a product matures, you won't be able to get as much goodies as you're getting today. You get more goodies in exchange of using the system to indirectly help iron out defects.
If you read updates from last nite, wait about 30 mins and your top ups should be reflected.
