That's why lah. I also think the same thing. They give the feature, we use it, but if they suspend our account, we have to go through a lot of hassles while they get to roll our money. Not to mention $6 per transaction to withdraw.

I was applying thinking of making some money like all you experts here but changed my mind after reading a few warnings (thanks to everyone who shared their knowledge and giving warnings). 10k returns like $440 a year and I think Public Bank is giving 6 moons of free balance transfer. So it's $220 and I believe I have to pay that 10k as installments each moon and not at the end of the 6 moon period. So that $220 becomes $110. Not worth to get 10k locked for $110. If the process is repeated throughout the year, probably can earn more, but I don't like the fact that they can suspend our account over this reason.

In addition, I am not comfortable to give a photo of my IC to them. Even banks will stamp the photocopy of our IC with their name. We are sending a photo of the IC unstamped. Do they have the rights to keep a copy of our IC? If someone hacks or get hold of the IC and sell it out, will they compensate us?

So after reading the risks of getting my money locked, I decided not to reapply.

One day, someone will report such suspension to Bank Negara, then they'll probably reduce the suspension. I know someone who'll definitely and very good in doing that. Just that he doesn't have a BP account and not that savvy like you guys (I'm not either, I just learned all the tricks after coming here, so I really appreciate you guys for sharing). Not that I don't know how to report, but I'll just save myself some hassle.

If there's any suspension, banks are the one who should be suspending services to BP for allowing such method to work. BP should not be suspending its users fur using their features.

Good. I'm fairly sure BNM gave them some not-so-easy time. At least, I know BNM has been dependable a couple of years ago.

But for me, still unnecessary hassle lah.

And I use bank to transfer money, they don't suspend my account. They'd call to confirm if I did the transaction. Even if banks do suspend, they are reachable over the phone and they have lots of branch. I read that it's difficult to reach the BP customer service.

Tried registering with watermarked IC and they rejected asking for original IC. That's what they told me when I called a few days ago. Cannot watermark.

Really feel like reporting to bank negara or JPN. They can suspend account due to suspected fraud, we can also report based on potential fraud no?

The reason they gave in the app is use original IC, so I don't think it's photochop. Over the phone they said cannot watermark. I did the same for online credit card application and the bank accepted.

So yes, since they did not point a gun to my head, I uninstalled it. Even banks stamp their name on IC. I don't think BP reached the status of banks yet. BigData though.

Their standard response is that they have regulations to comply to. I don't know any regulations that require them to keep copies of unverified IC. Banks will ask for thumbprints. BP just needs a copy of anyone's IC and photo and you are through.

It looks good no doubt. That's why I relented and gave watermarked IC. Initially they already rejected me for using license.

But when they are asking more than banks, and I have doubts that they are as secure as banks storing my data, I have to let go. I just feel like app fever. Everyone gives what an app asks for

Thanks, bro. I'll do that if I ever apply again. But honestly, bank accepted that just yesterday (Friday). I don't even have existing account with them, just applying credit card.

Shoppee is having serious load problem for the past 1 hour lah. Everyone flocked in for the 9.9 promo. Server overload.

If you try other cards and doesn't work, then it's not BP problem.

And normally, Paypal rate is not as good as credit card rate. So far I never use Paypal to convert when I buy from eBay.

That was the old saying. Later I've learned that you need cards from different banks as well. If the problem is not Visa/MC specific, it'll be the bank and all cards from the same bank will be declined.

For the CVV2 verification, next time when anyone order Domino pizza (or anything that requires CVV2) online, try enter a wrong one see if it goes through or not. Then you'll know who is not verifying it.

Nowadays with One time pass, I don't think CVV2 is of much use. It's only useful for those that don't use one time pass.

Ummm, to be honest, it doesn't prove BP is sending the CVV2 for verification when you reload from your card. The one you mentioned is when you charge to your BP card.

But since they said they are sending the CVV2 to your issuing bank and when you charge to your BP card it's validating the CVV2, I think high probability BP supports CVV2.

haha seriously?

none of the people I know cares about points or cash back, with the exception of one who knows how to make better point redemptions by going to shops like Sen Heng. so i'm the only person in my league playing all these. Some are good in getting gifts from new card signup though. But again, none of the people I know bothers about the 4%+ FD promos either.

CS is just first level. Once you get to corner them, they escalate to 2nd level who talks more sense. CS once asked me to go ahead and talk to BNM, so my trick of threatening with BNM did not work with them cry.gif

System might not be as reliable as banks.
